Holy Cities Of Saudi Arabia: Mecca and Medina (Culture Documentary)

  • The two holy cities of Mecca and Medina give Saudi Arabia enormous religious power.
    We follow the trail of the pilgrims, from the port of Jeddah to the Holy Kaäba. There is a call for a more moderate Islam, but do religious leaders really support this?
    We follow the developments from the inside, through the eyes of the inhabitants themselves. Are they just empty promises or is Saudi Arabia actually able to change?

    The mosque of the Prophet is not the first place where Muhammad prayed. Before that Muhammad prayed in his home, at the Kaaba, in the cave, in the desert, even on top of the came. It's just the first building used for worship purposes.

    Islam allows modernizations but not to the extent of changing the important and basic islamic values… because some values in Islam are considered to be basic and fundamental. Islam encourages modernization in a modest way and adheres to the modesty enshrined in the Noble Qur’an and the Prophetic Traditions.
    Makkah is the purest land as it contains the Sacred House of Allah. And anything that goes against pure monotheism is considered impure to be introduced in the City. So non-Islamic place of worship are NOT allowed 🚫 at all.

    • @samantarmaxammadsaciid5156
      @samantarmaxammadsaciid5156 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think you're confusing Makka with Sa'uudi 'Arabia, when the interviewed man talking (we cannot have two religions coexisting here "Jaziirat 'Arabia") meant Sa'uudi 'Arabia and not Makka! And considering that Sa'uudis wanted both Muslims and non-Muslims to work there, but non-Muslims are not allowed to build places of worship of their faith! Is that Islaamic too?

    I've done watched all 4 episodes and I found it to be quite interesting and eye opening as an outsider. Appreciate the quality content, however, I must say this.
    I'm going to be a bit skeptical of some of the claims that were made in this series. My reasoning for this scepticism is simple. I'm not a Saudi native or have worked there, I don't speak arabic so I can't tell how accurate the translations were, and I'm not a Muslim.
    Please understand that this isn't an attack towards the presenter and creators of this series. It's just that everyone has a bias and an agenda, which is fine. As a newcomer to this, I'm being careful in how I'm digesting all of this info.

    It’s just a shame it’s not open to everyone… aside from religion, Mecca and Medina are among the most important historical places in the whole world, and everyone should be able to visit them, as for St. Peter. I’ve read that now it is accessible to non Muslims too, I have to inform myself better, it would be great! Anyway, the fact that some imams or people in Saudi Arabia are more open regarding veil for women and rights in general, or more tolerant towards non Muslims than people in others Muslim countries or Muslims that emigrated in the West, makes me reflect a lot

Islam is the best relegion with the most respect for human rights a religion where people started making universities and make people getting more knowledge and soooo much more things. But if you want to discuss the people who practice this religion then it's most likely like every other person in every other religion that they do things wrong. That's not because of the religion thats because of how some muslims mix their culture with religion what is totally wrong. You don't like a country like Saudi Arabia probably of how they mixed their culture with their religion because if you did research or knew a person who practices islam like how it's supposed to be practiced then nobody would have a problem with islam.
