    Your tutorial is great. You don't have a lot of detail, but get right to the point making your video easy to follow! Thanks!

    Your tutorial is clear and precise and gives me the measurement I want. Other videos only fold up hem to where they desire, and then stitch under original seam. You instruct to cut your excess fabric measurement in half before stitching under the original seam. What is the difference and why is there variation in this technique? Yours makes the most sense to me.

    I think some pants might be harder to hem this way if there is a need for a larger hem. Since there is a taper to the pants leg, hemming more than 2 inches may result in gaps in the fabric that will not fit into the exact hem. Just a thought.

    Love it! Did one pair but didn't cut the excess. Thinking I may do that but it doesn't really show. I just bought another pair that I need to do it to as well. This is fabulous as I really don't like sewing at all but no-one can even tell. Probably will be better with the excess cut of though. Thank you so much. xo

    Don't you have to press the hem after washing to get it to lay flat?

    What if the hem of the jeans is a wider hem, like on many wide leg jeans? They often have 1 to 2 inch hems.

    I have a pair of flared jeans that are 3 inches too long for me. Will this method work for flared leg jeans?

    • @denisethompson6505
      @denisethompson6505 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No! This method does not work for flared jeans! You can do a search for hemming flare jeans with the original hem. There is a way to do it.

    Can this work with a bootcut Jean?

  • @tammyn133

    Tried this and sadly it didn't work well, it was wider in the leg where I was hemming so it didn't lay flat.

    Don't you have to press the hem every time,?

    I’m so confused about the half-ing it part. If you want it to be 2 inches shorter but then you half that fold, isn’t that only going to make them 1 inch shorter? What am I missing??

    • @georgiacmt
      @georgiacmt 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's because the two-inch segment of hem is folded, one inch on each side, but both inches are removed. Watch closely as she grasps the folded part before she trims it, and you will see that two inches of fabric have been removed from the length of the leg.

      My god.... Because you have 2 layers of fabric folded together that you're cutting through?
