Nice quick tutorial. Learnt a tip recently; use a basting stitch length that's not too long. Your gathering will be more stabilised so you can spread it more evenly.
Great tip!
Tail your knot between the layers so it won't slip out over time❤
So, instead of measuring the length of the dart, drawing/pulling enough thread to sew the dart from a bobbin filled with your top-stitching thread up through the sewing machine plates, then back threading the needle from the bobbin thread with enough thread to reach the tension guides and properly sew the dart, then sewing the dart from the point to the base bypassing the need for any thread knots or back stitching. You get a dart sewn with only one thread that achors itself at the point without any added thicknesses, just a single thead. It's a bit persnickety, but the finished product is next level.
I stitch my dart « normal » as in not the top stitching way for security, then add top stitching when I want the look of top stitching on the dart. And the problem she’s bringing up here is specifically backstitching on the machine to finish the stitches which can look a little bulky and messy.
Your tutorial is great. You don't have a lot of detail, but get right to the point making your video easy to follow! Thanks!
No matter how many times I watch it, I just can't get how to do the neckline. Could someone explain it like they're talking to a five-year-old? Or direct me to other instructions for the neck? I've made it this far and can't wait to finish it! :)
thank you sooo much for this tutorial
Awesome tutorial- thank you 🙏!
Glad it was helpful!
I struggle with this because I'm afraid of breaking the needle off when I move the fabric around. No matter how hard I try I always end up with a thread jam down in the needle plate.
What if the hem of the jeans is a wider hem, like on many wide leg jeans? They often have 1 to 2 inch hems.
Always enjoy a good chat or podcast as I stitch, sew, and craft; such an inspiration! I know it's a relatively simple project, but I still am trying to master leggings/stretch pants - trying to jump in and just try it. Looking forward to new posts!
Thank you! You can do it - just jump into making a pair, you will realize how easy and wonderful they are to make :)
Thank you! 😊
You're welcome 😊
Even though I am a year late seeing this I absolutely enjoyed it!!! I really like your patterns and the combo of the fabrics you all used! I hope you all do this in the future!!!
Thank you so much!
Same thing I do. But they come and done after a while
this is not good then
So glad to see you again ladies
We are so happy to be back!
So glad to see you and youre back thanks
I made this too..i.used a soft jersey knit - i also added side seam pockets and i love it!❤❤❤❤
Wonderful!
Sew cute!
Thank you :)
Honestly its not "the best way" chose what youre comfortable with
Thank you for clarifying. I'm new to sewing with knits and the instructions on the envelope just weren't making it.
What fabric have you encountered that has the most stretch with the least recovery?
Well explained 👏 ❤
Thank you so much! I loved it. So easy to understand.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you! I've been struggling to find tanks with bra shelves in store and online in my size. Looks like I'll have to modify or make my own.
Thank you. Very helpful. The tips about spreading the notches and ironing the seams open are so helpful. I love your enthusiasm.
You are so welcome!
I’m so confused about the half-ing it part. If you want it to be 2 inches shorter but then you half that fold, isn’t that only going to make them 1 inch shorter? What am I missing??
It's because the two-inch segment of hem is folded, one inch on each side, but both inches are removed. Watch closely as she grasps the folded part before she trims it, and you will see that two inches of fabric have been removed from the length of the leg.
Thank you for this tutorial!
You are so welcome!
Hi. Thank you, thank you, and thank you. I think you are adorable.
This is a great tut to add to my existing tanks and other tops. Thank you
You're very welcome!
Great to see you back! Thanks for the update. I joined the Makers Club when it launched and am excited to see what changes you have in store.
So glad you are back!!!
Love this!!!❤❤❤
Fantastic tutorial video thanks so much! The detailed way you explain and demonstrate the steps is so good. Just fixed my very first pair of jeans. So happy!
Glad it helped!
You are a master🙏🇹🇩🇨🇦
This is the best tutorial for a notched collar that I have found.
Thank you so much Very easy 🫂🫂🥰
Thank you for that tip about waiting for it to cool down a bit. I was thinking I bought a faulty interfacing when I was actually doing it wrong 😂. I was always excited to just rip it off once the interfacing glues down to the fabric and I get disappointed when it comes off. I'm gonna try that 😊
Thank you, great trick.
Thank you for making this easy and quick!
Brilliant tutorial . Thank you. 17:38
This is the first time I find a selfmade slip. I am allergic to stretch (elasthan, lycra ….) This is certainly helpfull But I wonder do you know a way or a video about a person who makes patterns for underwear (slip and bra) without stretch. May be it is possible with lyocell ? I will be very very very grateful if you can help me with that… Anneke and stitches it too you know
great idea...will absolutely try it...(I met you several years ago at one of Peter Lappins excursions, when we had lunch)..........
Very Helpful! Thank you!
What settings did you use on your machine?
Thank you ❤
Ui😂
I’m amazed this only has 2k views, because I’ve watched it 4 times myself, at least once per time I have to sew a gusset lol
Oh! I thought there must've been a different way to do it, but I've been doing it alright all along! Thanks
Wow thank you!! just subscribed, cant wait to see what else i can learn !!!❤❤
I am so glad I searched TH-cam for this and found your video. The pattern I’m working from was doing it in such a more complicated way and the was they phrased their explanation is not ideal. I was like… huh? Rocket science?
Is a blind hem foot necessary?
