Congratulations on 2 great seasons with the Blue Devils! You seemed very skilled and talented in your 2014 video so I was wondering what made you get cut that year? I don't mean to be rude, I just would just like to know what areas I should focus on that I might overlook.

Dude, you sound amazing. Any tips for someone just starting out on mello? I'm originally a trumpet player; however, I'm switching to mello. Did you use a trumpet, mellophone, or French Horn mouthpiece? I know air support, but any other tips for a great sound?

Rohit Ganguly Practice your ass off.
I don't think age is an issue (it might be different for the corps you audition for). I'm only 14 years old and I'm a baritone player in the open class corps Cadets2. It just takes a lot of practice and dedication. Dedication is important because if you aren't dedicated to this sport (i consider it a sport) then there is no point in going any further. You have to keep up with all of the payments (it's expensive but totally worth it). And you have to be willing to give up most of your summer but in the end it is worth it 100%. In the end you'll have a sexy drum corps body and mass improvement on marching technique and your playing ability and just the entire experience in a whole is amazing.
To "get better" it's as simple as just practicing. That's the only way you can get better, practice your ass off. Whenever you have free time just practice. Practice things that you aren't very strong at doing. And always take things slow don't try to play something super fast right off the bat just take it slow and once you've got all the notes down, start going up to tempo( I suggest using a metronome). Good luck for whatever corps you're auditioning for next year! Sorry for my long reply lol.

Thank's! Yes it's a good mouthpiece but sometimes i prefer normal 6v mouthpiece because it's a little bit deeper than the system blue one
