Veel tempowisselingen, nog spannender dus... Zijn tonen zijn overduidelijk uitsluitend op expressieve kracht en niet langer op basis van hun plaats in de harmonie. Wat houd ik van kunst!!
I saw this my freshman year of college. I didn't know enough about classic film or German Expressionism to truly appreciate this movie, though. I was just looking for a horror flick, so of course I complained that it wasn't scary enough. Now that I know better, I watch this scene again and it just gives me chills.

Even when playing a total creep, Conrad Veidt is somehow lovely.
Right? Like, I love him, but he is absolutely terrifying in this scene!
Conrad had this weird gentleman's grace, something I noticed that Alan Rickman also possessed.
Visually Dr. Caligari influenced so many movies I've watched, *The Crow* and especially Tim Burton's *Beetlejuice* comes to mind.
In this movie, Cesare reminds me Edward Scissorhands.
I came to find out that it's inspiration off of this film. Awesome stuff!
