I stayed at the Oirase Keiryu Hotel a few weeks ago and it was such a pleasant stay! Happy to see it featured here. Aomori has the most delicious apples I've ever tasted. The artist who created the fireplaces is Taro Okamoto, who created the Tower of the Sun which is outside of Osaka (World Expo '70)! He also has a small museum in Tokyo worth visiting if you are in Aoyama.

I'm currently a senior in high school and taking an independent study course studying Japanese under a mentor since it is not a language offered at my school. If Hokkaido is known for dairy products, I guess that explains why I always see "Hokkaido cream" desserts in Asian markets. I haven't been brave enough to try them yet though. Although yesterday I had pork katsudon for the first time at a restaurant here in the U.S. It was actually quite tasty.

I've only been to Aomori once so far, so definitely wanna go back. I've been to Hokkaido many times in almost every season and I absolutely love it there. :)
I visited a lot of prefectures in Tohoku in spring for the cherry blossoms once (late April / early May) and I really enjoyed it.
