This is big for Wwe because for a while it’s just a domestic company that would occasionally go out of the states now they seem to focus on being an international powerhouse. Netflix opens the doors to so many other countries and viewers especially in Asia
WWE was huge worldwide decades ago. WWE has been on TV in China for over 20 years and now it's restricted to the Netflix audience which China isn't into.
@@redrick8900 1. most countries outside the US aren’t able to watch raw due to time constraints now they have the ability to. Also China has never been a big market in wwe till now. 2. WWE still is huge worldwide since they are top 10 in TH-cam subscribers. 3. China is top 5 country in Netflix subs but the main point was all of Asia not just China.
I think you're underselling the upsides here. Netflix is the largest streaming service in the world with 240 million + subscribers compared to WWE Network's 1.5 million. The flexibility viewers will have to watch it immediately or at any time afterwards without WWE having to be concerned at all about when they watch it, the money still rolls in, is good for both sides. Massive chance to get more casuals into the product. Netflix and WWE will both market the hell out of this. Also wrestling has always had difficulties with advertisers but loyal fans that will follow it everywhere. They'll follow it to Netflix and ads are secondary to Netflix's core business model - and sold based on the service as a whole I'd expect.
I don't know if it's been clarified yet, but I'm not sure whether the past WWE library (such as old WWE PPV's, WCW and ECW) is gonna be transferred over to Netflix for subscribers outside the U.S.
Punk changed the landscape of wrestling by simply being one of the top stars in wwe when no one ever gave him a realistic shot. That is an undeniable fact. And are we really going to ignore his fundamental role in the growth and development of a promotion like ROH?! Delusional to call Cody more of a maverick and "revolutionary" to the wrestling business than Punk.
I doubt it. They may be able to include more aggressive and interesting angles, but other than blood not being a big deal on Netflix, they are a family friendly company now and it's probably going to stay that way for the foreseeable future. That being said, it IS possible that RAW will be more mature rated and Smackdown (which will be on USA now) and NXT will stay more family oriented. Who knows I guess.
It’s possible maybe it could one day return to the attitude era anything is possible especially with the merger of UFC despite it being family friendly. Only time will tell
The crowd was standing listening to every word. Billy is basing his answer just off of a pop but if u look at the crowd they were standing up actually invested to what’s happening that’s why it’s memorable
That's a long time to be locked in a deal, its 10 years with Neflix adding 5 if they want ,or cancel it,15 years ago WWE was making far less than today,in 5-7 years things could change drastically with inflation and other things. The other thing is that Netflix made this deal as a consequence of writters strike, now they don't have to deal with that BS,they will always have a show on.And now the biggest question, will they drop all episodes at once ?:))
Anyone talking about how maybe RAW can become *Raw* again? With relaxed TV rules and ratings? I doubt it, but it would be nice if the adults got a WWE show since you’re streaming. That’s how it should be. RAW was called RAW for a reason. Give Smackdown and NXT to the kids and give back the adults RAW.
I stopped watching wrestling because I got rid of cable. That was more then 15 years ago. Next year there is a really good chance I’ll start watching again. It’s a big deal. But I agree with bully in that it’s not because they are leaving cable. They should of started streaming raw live when they launched the network.
I'm in the UK...if you don't have WWE Network for £9.99 or a Sky Sports or BT Sports subscription then WWE is a no go....now you are going to move Raw, Smackdown and NXT, as they've said, to Netflix, including all PLE's....this opens a massive window of opportunity to fans like me who now get all that for a Netflix subscription which means I get a ton of stuff and WWE. Yes, I'd still need a Network Subscription to access the older material which I enjoy as a near 40 year old. However, I'm really pleased with this one, really pleased. It's a massive bonus for me.
I think the biggest thing they brought up is the resolution of the signal. I’ve been tired of the show being in 720p for the past 15 or so years. I really hope they broadcast it in 4K. It’s what we pay for on Netflix.
For UK customers its fantastic, Netflix is about £11 but raw and smackdown are on sports channels that cost like £40 a month and thats including the network being £9.99. Non-US get raw smackdown and the PLEs.
Exactly, this is an absolute win! I had to ditch the network as I was paying for it but only watching the PLEs (still cheaper than sky box office!) and I don’t have sky to catchup on raw/smackdown.
Yep, this is a game-changer in UK. Works out far cheaper for existing fans, but also massively opens up the potential casual audience - the sports channels are mostly a niche luxury for enthusiasts, driven almost exclusively by the EPL, while pretty much every millennial and Gen Z is already jacked into the Netflix algorithm.
Being 434 days as WWE champ then forcefully drop to a dying breed of wrestlers like Rock (multiple WM main events stolen) yeah I'd take my ball and go home.

I mean, they are a publicly traded company. Unless they’re going back to a private status, there are probably some sponsors they’re still gonna have to advertise.
For a lot of us in the UK, this is wonderful news. I'm a Netflix subscriber who also has the Wwe Network. Wwe was locked behind a sub-par sports subscription channel, and now it's confirmed that the WWE Network catalogue is transferng over and closing down, all those that were paying just for the Network will just use that disposable income subscription money and sub to Netflix. Thus boosting numbers for Netflix. It's a big win for them, too.
One of the benefits is that you're not only subscribing just to watch WWE content come January 2025 but all the other content that Netflix has which is a lot. There was always a barrier tuning into watching their shows for occasional viewing for decades, had to get a cable or satellite package to watch their TV wrestling shows first run without illegal sites plus had to pay extra PPV prices for PPVs but this news makes it much easier. The WWE was always locked in the UK into sub par sports subscriptions for decades from all the way back with Sky Sports but with Netflix this makes it easier to watch their shows at more convenient times on demand. This over time is going to be massive for Netflix increasing subs.
this deal is raw in usa + international streaming of wwe network . they still get close to 300 miliion for raw , plus the deal have to perform numbers else netflix can cancel after 5 years .
This is not good at all. A merger and having complete control over everything like a monopoly is not good. This reminds me of when Vince bought wcw. Right now raw isn’t on Peacock until a month after it airs. But now it will be on Netflix If not immediately, the next day… which is going to be huge. Right now I can only watch SmackDown weekly and I just get recaps for raw.
When they go on Netflix hopefully they’ll change it back to TV 14😅
Haven’t they been TV 14 for awhile??
@@ZzzzJesse24 They are still family friendly with a edge. All RAW needs to do is improve on better promos that don't sound so scripted, less backstage segments that just waste time, and more wrestling to watch for anyone watching at home. Those will get me to watch a full episode again. I haven't watched a full episode of RAW since 2022. Only certain matches or segments get my attention. The rest is all recaps for me.
Nope it’s pg 😢
Dave thinks 500 people om Twitter is an outrage. 23 million watched NFL on Peacock. AEW doesn't want the Monday Night Football smoke.
This is game changing outside the US. So much easier to watch all the content. Hopefully 4k without ads and Raw goes back to 2 hours.
The downside is the back catalog remains on Peacock through 2026.
WWE already came out and said RAW will remain 3 hours but it may NOT always be on Mondays in the future.
Netflix paid for 3 hours fam
@@ApexCalibre It's more than 3 hours of content if you live outwith the US.
@@NewNomics It depends. If you are outwith the US, what's on peacock might also be on Netflix.
I'll more likely watch Raw alot more now. I don't have cable but I got Netflix
Hey as someone who cut the cable cord over a decade ago, I'll be able to watch again.....that is if something is on worth watching. No cost out of my pocket as my Netflix subscription is provide with my cell-phone plan.
I haven't gotten to watch RAW in forever because I haven't had cable. Also, I was considering cutting Netflix or at least lowering my subscription level. This is just made the service more valuable and I wish I didn't have to wait until 2025.
The crowd was kinda awestruck by that promo. It wasn't like a Chicago or New York crowd, but they were into it. However i feel those lapsed hardcore WWE fans are returning slowly when they used to be much louder during promo segments eg: Rock/Hogan and Styles/Cena
This is big for Wwe because for a while it’s just a domestic company that would occasionally go out of the states now they seem to focus on being an international powerhouse. Netflix opens the doors to so many other countries and viewers especially in Asia
yeah exactly what if it suddenly it takes off in a market they were never in before ..its a big plus for wwe

Would have preferred Amazon Prime Video, but Netflix is going to grow Raw's viewership tremendously....
Yeah me too. I'll likely always keep Prime just for the free shipping. Netflix is a staple for the family though, but I wouldn't have it without them.
A decent IPTV service blows Netflix and Prime out of the water!
I thought peacock since the WWE has content on there
Keep that to yourself dont ruin it for us keep your mouth closed@OfficialJoePlays
I’m still gonna watch it for FREE no matter what 😃

Well what about Peacock then? Wish they would show more old school territories on Peacock. Wwe didn't put alot more on
Punk changed the landscape of wrestling by simply being one of the top stars in wwe when no one ever gave him a realistic shot. That is an undeniable fact. And are we really going to ignore his fundamental role in the growth and development of a promotion like ROH?! Delusional to call Cody more of a maverick and "revolutionary" to the wrestling business than Punk.
Y’all hit 100k congrats you damn Legends
Bro are we gonna get an Attitude Era 2.0 ?!?
Nah
It’s possible maybe it could one day return to the attitude era anything is possible especially with the merger of UFC despite it being family friendly.
Only time will tell
@@BrownDog416 people been coping 10+ years for attitude era simply forget about it
That's exactly what I'm thinking! Also some movie quality side episodes!
And now I've watched all of this. Yeah Too much of a Cody shill. I'm with Bully on this.
Great thing for WWE. Again setting the standard
That’s laughable 😂

Bully Ray/Bubba Ray Dudley would never thought of his industry habing a worth of 5 BILLION DOLLARS when he was in ECW, no doubt
The crowd was standing listening to every word. Billy is basing his answer just off of a pop but if u look at the crowd they were standing up actually invested to what’s happening that’s why it’s memorable
Who’s Billy?
Retrain my brain? Raw is now on Netflix. Ok BOOM. I'm on Netflix. Not that hard of a learning curve.
Netflix has 5 million more subscribers than USA Network in the U.S.
This will open the Monday night time slot on cable for the NWA, TNA or AEW to step in for Cable viewers.
Well what are the possibilities for either of them. CW will have Nxt and NWA. TNA needs a better channel on cable TV.
FYI Smackdown will move to USA on October
Raw will definitely have more freedom now that it won’t have to answer to TV executives. There should be a change for sure.
Wonder if you’ll get the dark matches and after shows now?
WWE broadcasts in 1080i.
@@TheJosephPrice which is still bad. Interlace is worse than Progressive
Will it be commercial free?
For UK customers its fantastic, Netflix is about £11 but raw and smackdown are on sports channels that cost like £40 a month and thats including the network being £9.99.
Non-US get raw smackdown and the PLEs.
Will a VPN work to watch all of those in the US?
@@jmiyagi12345 yeah you can likely just VPN and access everything
It’s wild to remember the humble first episode of Monday Night RAW in 1993 at the Manhattan Center. Now, it’s worth $5 billion.
Yep. That's a HUGE library. And a Lot Of gigabytes
@@diluted8I've got all of it on hard drives. 13TBs worth of wrestling. Complete Raw/SD history, PPVs. Every NWA PPV. Complete WCW and ECW library. TNA from their 1st PPV up to about 2015. And now all of AEW.
The 13TB is full. Syart8a new 8TB hard drive with the Rumble.
Not even close.
I thought the Cody-Punk promo couldve been a draw, but Bully didn't put "draw" as an option on the poll. I gave it to Cody by a hair, and I'm willing to bet a lot of the 59% felt the same.
I think its pretty obvious punk not finishing the line and throwing it back at Cody was a complete work to show that per story line… dusty wasn’t important enough to punk for him to remember the entire line… it was a complete work to show cody that punk didnt take time to remember the line
is the WWE library staying on Peacock?… or is it going to Netflix as well?…. either way, i just hope it’s somewhere… they better not get rid of it lol… i watch 90s-2000s content alot
No commercials aside from what the WWE decides to run during the show. Big W for WWE
Get ready to start paying cable tv prices for Netflix
fuck now, i already paying 16 bucks a month if the price change even a bit i am out of there.
Quick comment: WWE doesn’t air in 4K though. Only 1080. I seriously doubt Netflix will upscale.
The promo was a very stone cold vs Rock intro. It was designed for Cody to take it by a bit. They even queued his music at the end
this deal is raw in usa + international streaming of wwe network . they still get close to 300 miliion for raw , plus the deal have to perform numbers else netflix can cancel after 5 years .
In the uk it will save me £30 a mounth
You will get all wwe programming on Netflix living outside u.s
My question is, what happens to the network and ple? Does all of that stay on peacock?
PLE will be on Peacock in 2025. No idea about 26 and after.
I'm gonna pass for Netflix. Congrats WWE. I'm not paying for more streaming. I cannot afford it. I'm not tech savvy enough to steal it.
This is not good at all. A merger and having complete control over everything like a monopoly is not good. This reminds me of when Vince bought wcw.

Hi guys, great show! On my end, the only way to get Monday Night Raw is via Sling. (I dont have cable, as the shows i like are on platforms like Netflix, Philo, etc) So for me, this is great because the only reason i subscribed to Sling was for RAW.
Cable died right before the pandemic in my opinion. If you still have cable now, you are wasting money
