Yeah it's very possible Arei came to Eden to apologize or make amends for her behavior. Eden would have had a prime opportunity to attack. I don't think Ace had the opportunity because he was recovering from Nico's attempt.
@@rabbidguarddog Yeah and like Arturo pointed out, he had no reason to go after Arei since they barely interacted with each other. Ace is an impulsive jackass but he's most likely to go after Levi and Nico than anyone else.

ewatched Episode 6, you can see the EXACT moment when the tape was taken. It was taken right as Ace gotten up to yell he was not dead so I have no doubt that he took it and ran off with it. Also Teruko asked Eden to step away from the crime scene so it's impossible it was her. After that, I'm not entirely sure but Ace 100% took it.
Does that mean he's the culprit? Idk but if he gave the tape to someone, then we will be easily able to figure out who the culprit is next episode. The only other option is it was stolen so maybe Ace will enlighten us on that. If neither are true, then Ace is the culprit 100%. EDEN IS (most likely) NOT THE CULPRIT!!!
Edit: if you go frame by frame on the episode you can see the EXACT FRAME the tape was taken, it was taken as the camera pans from Teruko to Eden, and eden was pushed to the other side of the room, where the tape wasn't there.

Actually at first he only had one had present (at least in his sprite he only held his neck with 1 hand) ! Meaning before using his second hand he had chance to put the tape in his pockets!
And we never saw Eden have tape in her hands either so it is debatable.

I thought her principles weren't about "I helped you with that so I expect you to help me too", Teruko pointed that out and she said that's not how friendships are made or smth like that, but now here she's asking Teruko to help her just bc they're friends to her? Granted, she might have dropped all her mentality bc she's desperate and a mess after Arei's death but just wanted to point that out.
@@w339tak If she is I actually wouldn’t like that twist, like I get it’s supposed to feel bad but there’s already soooo many awful people in this show that I honestly think it’s too much already. Like antagonists are fun because they provide an opposition and a foil to everyone, but at this point it just feels like it’s getting to the point where almost everyone is irredeemable.
Ace might be an overly aggressive and impulsive jack ass but he's been getting straight up dumped on in this chapter. He's had some very valid points so far on multiple things and he literally survived a murder attempt but most of them just go "chihuahua is barking again, meh..." whenever he says something. I feel kind of bad for the guy.

I would like to apologize to the Hu nation for believing she was the culprit. At the time it made sense before we cleared up Nico’s murder. I feel really bad for her with what Nico said. Also I 100% think it’s Eden now, but I am confused how she learned the murder method so quick(then again, it makes more sense than Ace who was unconscious the entire time before they got in and bolted).

@@Rosa-he6xb Eden does have a background of working with clocks involving rotation. Personally, i believe this case was assisted suicide as the only evidence pointing against it is arei's bound wrists and fingernail injuries.

38:31 You can just see Teruko recognizing that Eden is in the same position as she was in the last trial, everyone distrusting her and believing she is the culprit. But, where no one was there to help Teruko, she was there for Eden in her darkest hour. For as much as she distrusts everyone, Eden gives her a reason to believe she can trust others again one day.

Well it's kinda different, I mean yea everyone suspected her, but only because she was the most suspicious in the beginning by laying near Xander thinking it was a fight, but in Eden's case its different, because she is accused and suspected by everyone one because a lot of evidence is pointing to her

@@NERVE_SYS Also I suspect J still. Arturo goes where J is, so assuming Eden approached him, J should’ve at least known about the conversation between those two, yet she’s offered no input such as the presence or lack thereof other people who could’ve overheard the conversation.
Plus, MonoTV revealed J attempted to enter the gym while it was closed post murder attempt. Maybe she found a way in, given that MonoTV needed to enter for repairs. Or at the very least she’d have seen the murder method through the door.

I'm just excited to learn more about her. its so funny that someone like Ace is completely in the right against characters like Nico, Hu, and Levi. i also really hope hu is hated on or loved without out being mischarterized as just a mom or girlboss character lol

I feel like there's one thing that can confirm Eden's innocence that was probably left out intentionally. Though I could've missed something after rewatching these videos but how would Eden have gotten the rope up in the rafters? She doesn't appear physically strong enough to toss the rope high enough into the rafter to do so and if she used a step stool to gain some height I doubt she'd still be able to toss the rope hard enough to send the rope over the rafters. This is purely speculation because I'm not sure if they've made it clear just how strong Eden is compared to everyone else or if she used something to do it.
I realized something, every character here is objectively an immoral person, be it a criminal, a sociopath, an unfeeling murderer, a murderer's defender, or a bully, they all have done something horrible or unethical

As much as I want to give Eden the benefit of the doubt, I just dont see Ace being the killer. My biggest issue with that is the whole argument is that the killer would have to have been witness to Nico’s attempted murder, but Ace barely saw any of the shit Nico used to pull it off cause he went to immediately chase Nico once he gained consciousness, whereas Eden had plenty of time to investigate the crime scene with Teruko. It just makes more sense logically if Eden killed Arei. I will say this twist came as a surprise though as I was almost 100% sure it was Hu lol
Literally same... I was a 100% sure It was Hu due to her nonsensical defense towards Nico... I thoght her defending Nico was a way to avoid the topic being debated, consequently pinning Hu as the culprit as she replicated Nico's scenario due to Nico failing to kill Ace.
And same, I can't see Ace as the culprit, one of the requirements to be the culprit is knowing about the conversation between Arei, Eden and Arturo, while there's a possibility of a fourth party eavesdropping... There's no confirmation either, therefore, is easier for Eden to know about it since she herself was part of the conversation, as well as stumbling across Nico's attempted murder. For Ace to be the culprit... We must consider him 1. Eavesdropping, which we already saw he did before with Arei and David, 2. Investigate about Nico's murder mechanism, did Ace really had the time to understand Nico's mechanism? He barely stood up and chase after Nico soon after, while Eden had all the time to understand Nico's plan and grab the tape. ( Also... Wasn't the tape just lying right there when Ace leaved the gym...? Perphaps I'm misremembering ) Therefore... For as much as It hurts, I believe Eden is the culprit, or maybe someone else is, honestly at this point in the trial... I doubt anyone else out of this 2 is the culprit, how much longer will this trial go? ( My only concern towards Eden being the culprit... The whole "trust" Teruko started to regain would be useless, as she would be shown that even someone like Eden can't be trusted, and also because I thought Eden would take the rol as Teruko's support during the rest of the series, her job as a support for Teruko after Xander's backstab has been notorious, killing her right now... Doesn't feel right. Finally: What's the motive behind Eden's murder? Simply why? Hidding a secret like that? May be embarrasing but not worth killing for, while Ace, as stupid as his motive may sound, has a motive... "Revenge" on Nico ) Honestly, I don't know what to think anymore.
Nico said they saw Ace being conscious for a while and he could've deduced the murder method when he woke up.

Ace is NOT the killer!
1: to be the killer Ace would need to understand how Nico attempted to murder him. Nothing points towards Ace being particularly smart, let's be real. Do we think that Ace, who was just drugged and then hit his head, would wake up with a bloody neck and have enough awareness to both recognize how Nico tried to kill him AND grab the tape???
2: Eden's talent is making clocks! You know what's involve in clocks? A lot of moving parts! She has a much better chance of understanding the attempted murder method within a short window than Ace does.
3: If you go back to the moment right before Arei's body was discovered, Eden tries to stop Teruko from opening the door. I wonder why; maybe because she's the killer and thought the BDA wouldn't play????
4: If this chapter is continuing this theme of being a 'good person', then Eden is far more involved with that concept than Ace. She's been talking about being a 'good person' left and right so far. 'All that glitters is not gold"? Ace doesn't glitter, never has. But Eden is a 'good person'.
5: if it's Ace I'll cry. Yes this is a legit point in his favor. Please.

Why did Eden tell Teruko and Whit to wait before opening the playground doors?' Did she want to run and get everyone else to witness the body at the same time?
Is Ace putting together this elaborate murder plan based on Nico's murder plan after everything that happened to him really believable?

6: Eden had a far better chance of grabbing the tape. When Ace woke up, he knocked Eden to the ground. His screaming was taking Teruko's attention, meaning she wasn't paying attention to Eden. On the ground and temporarily forgotten, it'd be so easy to grab the tape.
I don't personally like Ace but I don't think he's the killer, I agree with the theory that Eden is. I've noticed a lot of things not adding up in her favor as well. She's just too suspicious during the whole chapter. I'm going to rewatch the chapter and see what else I missed you made a lot of great points. (I don't dislike Ace's writing I just dislike him. I actually like how he's written.)

Yes. I'm glad someone else brought up Eden's clockmaking talent. She'd be far more likely to identify how Nico tried to killed Ace and replicate it than Ace. If Teruko needed this long to figure it out, a knocked out, bleeding, angry Ace would never. Someone who's mind is used to gears and spinning parts working together though?

I've also noticed that the suspect who goes last is usually the killer in a lot of fan games. Like it usually makes the whole reveal a lot smoother. But I really hope I'm wrong with this observation. But at the same time I really want to see why Eden killed her. Was her being nice an act? Or did she get more info from MonoTV that changed her feelings? I really enjoy the writing of this series so far

I really think the big twist of the case is going to be that it was Eden. Teruko specifically mentioned that she would circle back to Eden after confronting Ace first, and I feel like that's something put in there deliberately.
They'll probably interrogate Ace first but eventually find some piece of evidence that clears him.
Plus Eden has closer ties to Arei and the theme of the chapter overall, she's the definition of a "good person".
I really doubt they would pull a Min v2
@@skyknight2233 It wouldn't necessarily be Min v2, since Teruko knows at this point that no one can truly be trusted. I agree it would rehash a bit of "close friend who betrayed her" but we don't really know the motive for the murder yet or how involved Arei really was.

@@mayzenharriz8083 If Arei is trying to become a better person I doubt it, her conversation with David made her realize that she can't truly be a good person since no is (no is perfect and all that) but that doesn't mean she can't try to become a better person then who she was in the past. Unless it's revealed Arei and Eden had some falling out or Arei started reverting, or I misinterpret/misremembered the scene I mentioned Arei probably wouldn't do that.
Obviously I could've made a mistake in my analysis or there could be missing evidence yet to reveal that could point to this, so yeah.

@@karn8483 yea it was. But when I was slowing down the video to individual frames, you can see the tape disappear when going from Teruko’s dialogue box to Eden’s. It’s hard to see because the box darkens it but it’s a noticiable disappearance of an object in the artwork.
Also strange thing I noticed but Eden’s character art seem to get knocked over when Ace woke up, so that means she must have been close enough to him to get pushed over. Or the devs were just doing it for the laughs.

1. Ace was almost all the time unconscious when Nico tried to kill him, then afterwards he chased Nico. Eden on tbe other was investigating and could have understood how Nicos murder attempt could have worked.
2. Eden tried to stop and not open the door. Why? Maybe bevauae she wanted more people to come because the " 3 innocent find a body alarm" wouldn't work since SHE is wouldn't be innocent.
3. Shes the ultimate clockmaker. She knows how mechanisms and such work.

David is my favorite character hands down. This episode cemented that. I just love antagonists and David right now is honestly one of the best written antagonists in any fangan I’ve watched or read so far. Especially his manipulation to plant distrust on Eden, and his words to Teruko. God I just love his character so much!
I like how he appears to be a bad guy but when you actually read into his actions and the stuff he says, you can tell he's purposefully acting like this to help!
Especially when he tells Teruko that he wants her to distrust others. He seems to recognise that Teruko may be heading down the wrong path of logic and tries to get her back on track. He's definitely one of the most amazing fangan antagonists I've ever seen!

Assuming the killer is indeed Ace, it makes a lot of sense. Arei and Ace have so many parallels.
They were the two most hated people up to that point (David and Levi hadn't shown their true colors up to that point)
Arei wanted to change and be better. Eden and even David held out their hands and told her she could change. She died wanting to be a better person. Sadly that want to change is what killed her.
Ace is the opposite. He only got worse and worse with his actions and paranoia. Nobody helped him. Nobody offered him a hand. Everyone hated him, he didn't get what Arei got. Nico trying to kill him sent him over and made him kill Arei. "They will all try to kill me anyways, everyone hates me. I have to make the first move." His distrust for everyone caused him to kill, and in turn, get found out an excecuted.
Its sad but very well written and makes a lot of sense in my opinion

Ok his explanation pretty much perfectly sums it up but the only issue is that ace did get offered help by Levi after the murder incident, but he pushed him away saying he’s rather bleed out then accept his health. I’m pretty sure it’s less to do with no one helping him and more with him being paranoid to the extreme and worried that he can’t trust anyone, espeicailly considering he nearly got murdered and he’s pretty sensitive, broski lost his shit over some comments in the class trial by Levi 😅

To do this it isnt enough to steal the tape, you have to know how the murder works. After this episode i have no doubt Ace knew how the murder worked. Ace said he was unconscious the whole time, but it's clear this is a lie. I think he woke up as he was in mid air.
Nico said Ace woke up and theres evidence to prove it. Theres blood on Ace's fingers from where he was clawing at the wire. Why would he say he was unconscious the whole time if he wasnt?
Because if Ace says he is conscious at any point in the murder, that proves he knew about the pulley system. It's a death sentence.
Remember when Eden tried to stop Teruko to walk into playground before the BDA? If she was the killer and somehow knew that somebody else saw the crime scene early in the morning, she wanted to walk into it before Teruko, so it would conclude the mininum number of people to trigger the BDA (Whit, Teruko and the person in the morning), but it would look like it is Eden among them. But if Teruko walked in before her, BDA would sound immediately without Eden. So she somehow rushed in along with Teruko while trying to stop her.
So David could be right with that one.

I actually thought of a reason Ace might have killed Arei. Remember what he overheard when he was listening in on David and Arei's conversation?
"I want to give you the benefit of the doubt. That's what Eden would do. And I want to be like her. I need to become a good person."
Ace, who by his own accounts is a pretty terrible person, was probably really confused and bewildered on how Arei suddenly wants to become this better person when she was so shitty in the past. If Ace had confronted her about this and she gave the "maybe you can change too!" sort of speech to him... I don't imagine it would have ended well for her.
The theme of this chapter is being a "good person". And while Arei wanted the chance to grow and change, Ace only sunk deeper towards his demise.

@@Sir_Noel Thematically it also fits with the over all theme of friendship; Ace, who has done nothing to be nice or kind for others, skipped out on all little or big things, only ever being an asshole, will die alone. Sure he has trauma, but that doesnt permit you to be awful to others. Ace DOES have a major role in this case. He's upset and sad, no one wants to see him as the victim or help him and he mentions this over and over. He is a victim, but this victimization of himself has been present way before he was assaulted.
Meanwhile everyone wants to help, or at least not believe, it's Eden. She's been doing everything to help everyone, even when she's at times made mistakes in doing so.
Quite literally and brutally; Ace will die because he has no friends, said so himself. Eden will live because she's made friends, or at least allies, and this is proven by how she's acted. Eden's not lying or acting like the good person, she's being honest and truthful, her words prove this. The reasoning is gonna come down to the motive i bet, and THIS ALL, your comment included, will be the smoking gun. I'm certain.
btw, it was a passing comment, but Teruko DID say the culprit WANTED the murder to resemble nico's attempt. He's the only person with motive to do so.

He definitely didn’t deserve to have a murder attempted on him, but he’s really doing it to himself… he’s nasty and rude to everyone in a KILLING GAME and then wonders why one of the people he shit talked went after him? Again, murder isn’t at all justified, but it’s the fact that he lacks self awareness. Him continuing to be an outright douchebag to EVERYONE, and call himself the victim, and put ALL the blame on Nico (Despite Ace instigating the arguments with someone minding their business, IN A KILLING GAME), I just find it really unappealing. But everyone has there own taste in characters, and that’s what makes media work well :-D
If the end of Episode 11 was around the 70% mark for this chapter, I'm going to guess this chapter has 16 episodes.
That would probably mean the trial ends in episode 15, and episode 16 is the post-trial and the execution.
We might get the culprit reveal either at the end of this episode or the beginning of the next one.

I don’t think it’s Ace OR Eden, and here’s why:
Arei’s gloves are missing. It’s theorized the gloves are missing because the killer used them to prevent getting friction burn. Keep in mind that Nico used a broom, while Arei’s culprit seemed to have used their hands.
Now why does that mean it couldn’t be Eden or Ace? Because they both already wear gloves. Why would they take Arei’s gloves and not just use their own? If this theory is true, it would probably be someone who doesn’t have gloves instead
its possible that the killer removed her glove so it would be easier to bound her hands and so arei wouldnt be able to wiggle out of the tape

Putting the glove back on Areis hand would've been the smartest choice, since then it's harder to notice the red marks. So something about the glove must've have been important evidence. There's one important thing they haven't touched upon yet: the motive. Eden doesn't have any. Her secret isn't something to kill 13 people for. Neither is Ace's, but Ace has a different motive. Throughout the game, it's been established that he's one of the most likely targets for murder. And he's already been nearly killed once. He's killed Arei because he believed he would have died in this killing game anyway, so he had nothing to loose.
It's not gonna be Eden. Looking from a more meta perspective the author wouldn't do " a close friend of Teruko kills twice in a row " scenario. So we're not having Min again.

Do I know what it is? Absolutely not. But I hope it's not Whit (because if David is telling the truth, then he Teruko and Eden could be the innocents with Whit as the killer)

This fangan is amazing so I wouldn't think that the author would do a cliche " Eden was secretly evil all along " plot twist because that would be just bad writing. The fact that she most likely caused Xander eye injury convinces me that INDEED she's more important to the story that meets the eye but not in the way that she planned all of this.
With that one twist, I know it's debatable, but it could be J. And not for the reason of "oh Arei and J switched places" like everyone has been saying.
Though, to be more specific, it's J's murder weapon. The universal remote. The fans in the playarea are REALLY high up all things considered. They'd need to use something to get the fans down so they could tie up the rope, right? That's where the Universal Remote comes in and lowers the fans to help the killer. It's not specifically J, but either she could've used it, or someone got close enough to steal it... cough Arturo cough.

Eden is much smaller than everyone else and certainly not strong 'looking' and Ace's secret was that his body was straight up falling apart which probably is gonna make you weak. It probably takes a good bit strength to lift Arei's body up with the device
The conversation of Teruko and Eden just made me cry😭 Especially when it mirrored Min's last embrace.. Teruko seems to grow up as a person and find inner balance between logic and emotions. It's really nicely done, thanks❤

Someone on tumblr mentioned that in episode 6, when Teruko and Eden met in the dressing room, Eden said that there was someone following her around
She thought it was Teruko, but maybe it was someone else ? That means someone else would've discovered Ace and Nico at the same time as Teruko and Eden, and would've stolen the tape afterwards
Problem is that Teruko and Eden were already at the scene when the tape was suddenly stolen.

@@Mostsanewriomain Nico and Ace were there, of course, the tape couldn't be stolen before Teruko and Eden arriving since after Nico ran away from the room Teruko started her own investigation and noticed the tape lying on the floor, afterwards, Ace stood up, chase after Nico and Teruko and Eden were forced to leave the gym inmediately, so there's no possibility for someone outside that room to grab the tape... In fact, something interesting I found is that when Ace pushes Eden to the ground, the tape is no longer there once she stoods up, It's difficult to notice due to the chatbox's opacity but it does happen.

*I am an Ace whore so here's my git on why it can't be him*
1) There was not enough time for Ace to scoop up the tape and then run straight to Nico's room to fight him and if he did in fact have the tape one of Eden, Levi or Teruko would've pointed out more specifically Levi since he was the one that aided Ace to the infirmary after he was knocked out. So that could only mean that Eden was the only suspect who would have enough time to pick up the tape + the fact that when Teruko was speaking with MonoTV about the gym being a mess, she wouldn't be fixated on Eden grabbing it
2) There can be the argument that Ace may have overheard Arei/Eden vs. Arturo's argument but off of Arturo's account no one was near him and Ace has no direct association with any of the three suspects other than Ace speaking to Eden about his debate on which of dying young or living in a state of constant pain after nearly getting murdered by Nico was worse. Had Ace wanted to murder someone he would've targeted Nico, who made an attempt to murder him, or Levi, who threatened to murder him; but that whole stick is debunked cause Ace is low-key a pussy.
3) Eden's talent is a clockmaker. She would understand the essence of how time is important and is a major factor on how fast or moderate something can be produced so assuming that would mean Eden has a strong sense of timing and hands-on tasks, including murdering Arei. This also justifies how the murder is extremely similar to Nico's attempt on Ace because Eden seen it first hand and Ace would be unable to replicate it as he was unconscious by the turpentine and then unconscious again due to the fan falling onto of him. The only way Ace would be able to understand the murder is if he was smart enough to play as if he was unconscious and hear everything during Teruko's search to map it out; but the problem is Ace left the room almost immediately waking up trying to fight Nico
4) Eden being the murderer of Arei makes the most sense. Everyone remaining in the game has some form of immorality whether it being suicidal, a bully, a murderer or being manipulative but Eden is the only one that doesn't fit any of the bill (and no her blackmailing Teruko about her cactus role-play doesn't count). Ace would've had no motive to kill Arei specifically because the two never interacted.
TL:DR - Ace cannot be the murderer due to the time of being unconscious all three times not justifying the timing of being able to scope the murder scene and replicate. His lack of relation with Arei also makes it out of left field for him to be the murderer as Ace was always alone during free time due to only having one friend in his life.

This episode was so amazing. David gave me chills all throughout the trial, but he turned on the afterburners on this one. Everyone performed excellently and I love how messy the entire group is. The conflict is unending!
Genuinely sad one of them will be dead by the end of this trial!

The wording of that letter has me nervous. the language in that letter matches the exact pity speech Eden was giving Teruko this episode. I really thought Eden had more plot relevance down the line, considering the flashback with her holding the bloody fork. Eden being the blackened here would be ROUGH for Teruko's character development. Poor Teruko would never trust anyone ever again after the third time. That being said, Ace's hearing has already been used as evidence this trial. He is still capable of getting the information needed to forge the letter. Framing Eden would make a lot of sense, but that would require Ace to have woken up from almost dying, processing Teruko and Eden AND *specifically* the tape, and plotting a murder of someone other than Nico, all while pinning it on Eden.
Eden fully volunteered to reconstruct the letter without being asked. She *claims* to have different handwriting than the handwriting used in the letter. However, I don't think either of these points are enough to say that she's less suspicious than Ace. Rose already mentioned that there was basically no where to dispose of evidence on that floor except for that one specific trash can. Maybe Eden just knew that it'd be inevitable that the note would be found, and decided to just throw it out there. But in that case, why wouldn't Eden just put the letter inside the clothing orb instead? Wasn't there a chance that the ink would run and render the letter illegible, or perhaps the integrity of the letter would be dampened and destroyed. I feel like the placement of the letter specifically in the garbage can leaves some room for the note to be forged by Ace.
If there's anyway that Ace is the culprit, then the answer is in the clothing ball. Maybe Ace's wound reopened while he was orchestrating the plan and he had to hide a piece of bloodied clothing. Maybe Arei fought back and injured the culprit and they had to hide a piece of evidence in there. Arei's *glove* is still missing. If there's blood on Arei's glove and Eden is entirely uninjured, then wouldn't Ace have to be the culprit? I'm pretty sure that Arei has no open wounds.
I really want Eden to be innocent. I don't want her kindness to be fake. She makes more sense as the culprit than Ace, though. I feel like Ace would not be in the state of mind to plot a murder for any character other than Nico. Also, Ace waking up from almost dying and being like "hey this tape looks useful. I know I'm bleeding it out but I'll be taking this" doesn't seem likely, but the orb will probably answer all.
Idk man Eden meticulously planning to killing Arei is just so out of a character for her I just don't see it...
I completely agree. I didn't think about bloodstained clothes being used as evidence. Though I just came up with a stupid reason why Ace could have picked up the tape: because he was so desperate he decided to use it as a temporary bandage. But I don't think it's him anyway, because if it's him then how are we going to get a scrum debate?
As for the note, I just find it pretty weird that Eden didn't just hide it in her fanny bag if she was the killer.

@@adamturek210I agree with this, it’s so odd for Eden to have consistently tried to be nice to Arei, prove her philosophy of kindness with Teruko, make up with Arei; (a goal since chapter 1), potentially develop feelings, and be concerned with her losing hope, all to end up being her killer. From start to finish, Eden has only seemed to genuinely care about Arei so I cannot see why she’d be the culprit. Not to mention to double up both a Min situation, and David reveal feels cheap.
It's insane this cast, we have Levi who is a murderer, Nico how attempted a murder and David who is... David. I definitely would sleep with an eye awake.

Ok so here’s my definitive theorie about this case.
I’m sure that for the carousel’s method, the victim did not struggle because there is no trace on the rope to prove that Arei did struggle. In fact I believe that she was unconscious when the killer pulled up Arei.
Want to know why ? Because there was a missing object when Ace’s attempting murder besides the tape. The turpentine.
Because you can create the systems during nightime, but you still need to hang Arei and pulled her up at the morning and make sure that she doesn’t trie to untie herself. With the turpentine you could knocked her out, tied her with the tape (red mark on her wrist) then pulled her up then finnally finishing the job. In fact I think the mark on the floor are there because Arei struggle when the killer make her inhaled the turpentine.
All you need to do is to get rid of the letter, the jug, the turpentine, the tape, hide the rope under the carousel and get out of the second floor before everyone gets up.
So let’s talk about the suspect who are Ace, Eden, Hu, Nico, Arturo, Levi, Charles, Whit ,Rose and Teruko. Yes, Nico and Hu have an alibi beetween 7:30 AM to 8 AM but I still put them into my suspect list because of some reasons that I will talk about later.
Sooooooo… Let’s talk about the one I think we can be sure 100 % that they are innocent. Teruko and Charles. Teruko because protag plot armor, and Charles because without him they wouldn’t have found that Arei was dead at 7:30AM (it would be the dumbest move to actually trying so hard to keep everyone to focus on the trial when they were all arguing).
Next, Arturo. Arturo had a good motive to kill Arei, BUT this case made him so suspicious and despicable that it would be honnestly a shame if he die now. Besides, Arturo should have witnessed Ace’s failed attempt murder, but we all know that in this period of time he was with J or in his room.
Rose, to be honnest I am a little bit suspicious about her, but I’m not convinced it’s her. The reason is because of her photographic memories. She could have remembered what happened if she saw it by simple coincidence. But she doesn’t seem to know anything before she talked to Teruko about it.
I’m samely a little bit suspicious of Whit, but only because his point about the hanging stuff and his joke before founding the body was weird. But nothing concrete.
Ace and Levi are innocent too in my opinion. First Ace. Even if it’s not confirmed, we can assume he fainted due to the turpentine because of Nico and woke up when Teruko and Eden inspect his unconscious body. Because of that, he couldn’t have known what method Nico used to hanging him. And I don’t think Ace is enough smart to think of a method this complicated.
Levi could have thought of a method like this, but he didn’t saw what happen to Ace until he smashed the door at Nico’s room. Plus he didn’t know where Ace almost died so…
So now, Hu, Nico and Eden are the three remaining suspects. Let me cut this straight, Eden is for what I heard actually the most suspicious with Ace. Since I already expose my argument for why Ace is not the culprit, let’s focus on Eden. So I understand why Eden is actually suspected, she was part of her confrontation beetween Arturo and Arei and saw Ace attempting murder. So because of that she could have recreate the method Nico used against Ace and lure Arei to the playground with the letter. But if it was the case and she was the murderer I have some questions :
-First : if she wrote the letter, why did she helped Rose and Whit to reconstitued the letter ?
-Second : if she killed Arei, why does she wanted to know this badly what happen beetween Arei and David after Ace’s testimony and have a breakdown because she think it’s her fault that Arei died ? (If she is lying about that I swear to god I will hate her…)
-Thirdly : Did you really think Eden really know about the method that Nico used to try to kill Ace ? She was in the gym with Teruko when she saw Nico and Ace and the place was such a mess so I don’t think she could have figuring out what Nico did.
NEXT : Nico. Nico knew the carousel method because he actually used it against Ace in the gym. Except he used the ceiling fan. Actually I want to go back to « Ace’s crime scene » before talking about Arei’s. Remember how the gym was ? Super messy. Really different to how was the playground. Because of that and for other reasons, a lot of people speculated that Nico was actually trying to save Ace. However even if I like this theorie, it could also mean that Nico tried to kil Ace but regretted it aftermath and saved him or just failed because the height of the gym isn’t as high as the playground.
But here’s the thing, Nico did have all the reasons to kill Ace but last I’ve cheked Nico didn’t have something against Arei. Sure before her « change of heart », Arei was really a bitch but she didn’t cause trouble to Nico.
And actually there is more evidence against my prime suspect.
Hu. Oh dear Hu… Since Chapter 2 épisode 6, I suspected her to be the culprit. Now under the light about new evidence, I’m 90 % sure that Hu killed Arei and I have some proof against her to back me up.
First of all Hu, could you explain to me why Nico used your custom weapon to trying to kill Ace ? Your weapon was in your room and you didn’t say that you get rid of weapon. So yours was definitely in your room. So why did Nico has it ? Unless… Hu give it to Nico for other purpose.
But how could she have known about the method to kill Arei. Well I have two theories :
- When Nico runned away, they could have hide in Hu’s house instead of them, then talked about how they tried to killed Ace. Wich is weird but why not…
- Hu helped Nico or tried to kill Ace but it didn’t go as planned. Wich means she already know the method to begin with. I’m more positive about it because she could have taken the tape in the gym.
No matter how you can think about it, since Nico used Hu’s custom weapon, she is involved on Ace’s case.
Next the murder weapon, the rope, Arei’s custom weapon. Litterally everyone knew that the rope ended up in the storage. So the killer must have gone in the storage to take it. When ? Easy, in the afternoon’s day when Ace got attacked. Why ? Well you see, the storage is next to the infirmary and what happened in the infirmary at that time ? The confrontation beetween Arei, Arturo and Eden, so she could have overheard what happened. With that she could forge the letter. And I’m sure it’s what happened. Because in the trial, when everyone knew about what happened, Hu didn’t seems suprised to heard that and she didn’t yelled at him like she did to Ace. Pretty weird for someone this overprotective with « weak » people to not yell at Arturo to threatened Eden.
Additionnally, if you cheked Arei’s body, you could see that her glove is missing. Why take it off ? Well because the killer did take her out. For what actually ? Well the proof is the red mark on her wrist, showing that she was tie with tape. If she did let her glove, she could have untied herself by taking off her glove on her left hand and getting out of the trap if she regained conscious.
Plus she could have used Arei's glove when she tieded her up at the swing to avoid having rope's mark on her hand.
Then where is her glove ? Not entirely sure but I think it’s inside the ball of the old clothes. And I am the glove is damage.
The only thing that is in the way on Hu is her alibi with Nico (maybe the fact that in Teruko's room we don't see a clock so MAYBE there isn't a clock in the student's room. So if that is the case Hu could have lied about the alibi but it's not a good evidence honnestly). But I think she is not protective towards them but actually taking advantage on them.
Sorry for the big paragraph. I hope I wrote this well and didn't confuse the one who will take the time to read this. :)

What i don't understand is: why would hu kill arei, i mean does she have a reason to do this?
Hu has been my main suspect aswell (I considered Levi until the most recent episode). First of all she said she was with nico this morning, and she's been with nico before so they've likely have been with eachother a lot this chapter and couldve been working together for the past two attempted/actual murders. I think it started off as hu being nicos would be accomplise, however when nico got found out they moved targets to arei, as hu and arei have not had the best relationship, and I could see hu murduring her out of all the others. Hu also didn't bring up her secret until teruko stated that the secrets weren't neascicary for alibis, plus she stated she made a pact with Veronika. In the trial she first had a new sprite that made her look guilty and she said "I always have been selfish haven't I...). Once I saw this too me this confirms she's like the culprit of this case. And nico is going to be found out as a accomplice, possibly even being revealed hu was just using him the entire time.
I hope Nico is not the culprit in this chapter. I was thinking they might be A Culprit/Victim in CH 4, if not surviving.
Best case Scenario for Nico the culprit is either Ace or Hu.
I can never understand Hu being the culprit. Essentially the only incriminating thing in the Hu section is the fact that her *wire* was used in Nico’s attempted murder of Ace.
Information for the Infirmary Situation, Missing Glove, and obtaining Murder Weapon doesn’t implicate Hu at all, since literally any potential killer would be able to do these things.
Also, Hu does have an alibi, so I still don’t buy her being the culprit.
Could be wrong, but imo there’s no evidence making her look suspicious other than the fact her *wire* was used for an attempted murder.
Fun fact: If Hu is the culprit, it follows the pattern of everyone near J in the trial circle dying. The four people closest to her are Min, Arei, Xander and Hu. If you take this pattern even further, Arturo and Eden will be the chapter 3 victims.
EDIT: The chance of this happening is very unlikely, I just thought it was an interesting thing to point out.

There's no doubt that those lines that appear at the beginning of the chapter are Teruko's thoughts after each Class Trial.

@katyschubert6736 Im sure that Ace probably was the one that truly killed her. I mean, come on, let's be honest. Ace doesn't even like anyone there. He was even willing to get Teruko voted out a while ago without feeling any remorse of sympathy for her. Now the tables have turned, and he hates everyone for not feeling that much sympathy for him, It's obvious that he would have done this to escape. He constantly bragged about how no one cared about him and was constantly feeling sorry for himself. It's obvious that he is the one who did this. But it all matters if it is confirmed or not, but my 50% bets are on him.

Finally we're going to figure out what really happened between Nico and Ace.
Regardless of how the chapter ends, this case had been amazing. That being said, a point i haven't seen people bring up yet is that we know Ace overheard David and Arei talking the night before. Its very possible that Ace could have written the note based off information he heard there, and in the process would have both Nico and Eden as more likely suspects then him (Nico because of the murder plan and Eden because of the note). Pinning the crime on either would work, and it should be noted that during the trial Ace had been extremely pushy on Nico being the killer. Eden is also extremely sus, so we'll see what happens next week.
With the minigames, I’d like to imagine that if this were an actual show the audience would be able to play along at home.

As someone who previously had more of an attachment to Eden (but now prefers Ace), I think it's Eden- Especially since they devoted a cutscene to Teruko deciding to trust her. In addition, Ace turning out to be the culprit would just feel a bit...Shitty? It wouldn't be interesting. Although, I also am a bit iffy on how I'll feel on the direction I think they'll take Eden being the culprit. I don't want her to be a mass-manipulator like David, but I'm unsure where I exactly would like her character to go. Everything, to me, that Eden is doing is screaming 'I'm the culprit'.

I honestly don't think it is Ace. It might be Eden but I am more suspect to believe that something is going on with Hu and Nico that we don't know about. I think maybe Nico stole the tape and they are working together somehow. I don't know exactly, but I think they are both suspicious. Maybe Hu was trying to help Nico get out of the killing game and she was willing to die for them to escape.
I mean I also suspected Hu but this episode has proven it could only be Eden or Ace and I don't think it's gonna be Eden because then Teruko arc of trusting people again goes to waste.

About for copying the murder process, Dilemma for Eden because she has a high chance to copy Nico's Murder Plan and she was an ultimate clockmaker. Make sense for the carousel method (similar to the gears that she was good at).
Oh no… it’s eden for sure. When Teruko brought up niko’s attempted murder, and the grippy tape got involved, I had a flash of clarity.
Eden did act very suspiciously before the body discovery, she said something along the lines of “Teruko wait, you won’t like what you find in there”.
After the diegetic body swinging I ave to take this as vital evidence, especially given the friend speech and general themes of this series.

I think that timing makes it LESS likely to be Eden. Laundry was taken care of, and then Eden would be given the inspiration. It's unlikely she could have done laundry with malicious intent at that point
