    I'm seeing that many people believe Iduna is the singing voice, but that isn't accurate. The voice is very different, and too mature for a child's voice. Not to mention, the deleted scenes for Frozen 2 confirms that Iduna hears the calling too. I know deleted scenes can be very hit or miss for what is true in the final product, but it does show that Iduna was not, and was never intended to be, the mysterious singing. The singing is all related to the spirits, and the finished movie does show repeatedly that Gale doesn't respond via singing, so the notion that Iduna had to sing to get Gale's help just doesn't work for me.

    • @Lilpuppyluvah
      @Lilpuppyluvah 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I still subscribe to that theory since why else would the creators match the Voice with the memory of Iduna calling out during Show Yourself and have Elsa acknowledge it was her mother? On top of that, Iduna wasn’t mouthing “help” or anything in particular. Just a simple “A” sound. If the vocal range is an issue, she could’ve been singing at a lower key and Ahtohallan just used the same tune but at a higher key.
      It’s also been shown that only the Spirits can hear the Voice, seeing how Bruni’s the only other being who reacted to it. So whatever was heard in the past couldn’t be the same thing Elsa’s hearing now. It could be an instance of unreliable narration since no one actually knew what the 5th Spirit is, so they just came to their own conclusions regarding the voice they heard at the time. (Altho tbh I don’t like this interpretation much since Anna’s supposedly the other half of the bridge, thus a spirit in her own right, but couldn’t hear the Voice either. Meh.)
      And funny that you say Gale doesn’t respond to singing. I just realized right then that the first time Gale interacts with the group is right after Olaf’s song. Another instance is when Elsa and Olaf were singing the tune, that was the exact moment Gale showed up again. So yeah, it‘s possible to argue that Gale does indeed react to singing.
      Anyways, have you read the Frozen II novelization? I would like to ‘cuz if anything can straighten out all the theories, it’d be that book.

      They are doing kulning song the call to the ancients. So my theory is that Gal is an incarnation of one of the norns. Maybe I'm trying to put to much into it. Side note I love the line at the end when elsa says I'm the one I'm looking for. It a good message for kids!

      The deleted scene also shows Iduna as an Arendelian and the fifth spirit as a shapeshifting deer. This scene is therefore not canon to the final movie and is a completely different story/timeline.

    I HAVE A THEORY!! on how and why Elsa froze in frozen 2. Im copy and pasting it from my notes because it came to me in the middle of the night and I had to quickly write it down before i forget-
    In the first movie Elsa struck ana and froze her heart. The rock trolls told ana that the only way to thaw her was an act of true love. When hans didnt kiss ana and told her he didnt love her and locker her in the room to freeze olaf broke in and made a fire to warm ana saying some people are worth melting for. Alot of fans said that shouldve been an act of true love therefore shouldve thawed her heart. I THINK the troll was half true, yes an act of true love will thaw the heart But the act must be made by the one that struck it. Elsa froze her heart therefore her act of true love thaw anas heart. Thats why *spoilers* when Elsa discovered that her grandfather build the damn and killed the other king she froze because she was struck by her grandfather from his cold hearted act. Thats why when ana broke the damn it thawed Elsa breaking the damn undid the heartless act of the grandfather.

      Hmmm... you know I hadn't figured out why Elsa froze, other than that song warning, but the frost bit might really work, especially if I'm right about the family tree. That would mean Runeard has a little magic in his dna too, and that could make his memory in the water more powerful than anyone else's.

    The backstory on Elsa's magic could've been better. I wish they had showed that picture of the troll and the guy again. My theory is that the whole area of Arendelle has a magical history. The trolls, that picture, Atohollan, are all connected. That would've been epic if they went that route.

      To be honest it was done better in once upon a time. (It was a genetic thing…. Also it explained better why Iduna allowed for the two to be separated and it made her more sympathetic…. Not like how they chose now which just makes her look even worse than she already did)
      The movie would have been better off if they had cut off and eliminated the whole Elsa power origin and the whole fifth element and bridge nonsense. (Sorry but the whole bridge thing feels like the producers suddenly remembered Anna was there and they added that to make her feel special too, the whole story was “let’s make Elsa extra special” )
      Or even better, they could have gone about it like this…. That the spirits woke up because of elsas winter causing the balance to be ruined and Elsa and the gang have to go and find a way to fix it. (The tribe could have come to arendelle for help and they being there there would be tension between the two groups and as things get worse they work together and the bond is fixed)

    I thought that the singing Prince Agnarr heard as a child/teen was Iduna calling Gale to help rescue him. We see a memory of this moment in the Ice Caves of Ahtohallen during the song ‘Show Yourself’. I believe that Iduna’s family have a unique connection with the wind/air spirits as we only ever see Gale interact her in the flashbacks. Yes Agnarr does interact with Gale as well, but none of the other Northuldra are shown doing so. Honey Marian even claims that Iduna’s scarf/shawl belongs to one of their oldest families.
    It is possible that the book Agnarr has is a collection of regional myths and folklore, which would explain why the ‘royal’ on the stone alter is dressed in what could described as medieval clothing. Frozen 2 does reference Hans Christian Anderson, Agnarr is seen reading a book by ‘some Danish author’, so the inclusion on this type of book in the Royal Library wouldn’t have been odd. Thing with myths and folklore is that they start out as being told through word of mouth. As such things can and be added with each retelling. The story of a royal hit with moonlight may not be the original story. The trolls do recognise the Royal Family, so there may be a history there.
    King Runeard, does seem to have a deep rooted issue with magic, though probably through what it represents. Elemental magic of the Northuldra is a form of power that he cannot command as easily as his army or kingdom.
    My guess is that previous Kings and Queens of Arendelle have not pushed to expand the kingdom into the Northuldran territory and claim the natural resources there. The two societies probably lived separately from one another and only acknowledged that the other was there. Runeard most likely felt that he could force this to change through using the dam to push the Northuldra into becoming part of his kingdom in exchange for resources.
    Also if King Runeard truly hated magic why allow the Grandpapi and the other trolls to live anywhere near his kingdom. This would make no sense since we know there is a map to their location in the castle. It could be due to a pact between the royal family and trolls that extends back to the royal in the book or that Runeard views their magic as too weak or limited to pose a threat to him.
    Anyway sorry about the length of this comment , i rarely seem to keep these things short.

      I have to run soon but to at least address the singing part - Iduna sings in the film and her voice doesn't have that high of a range. If it was Iduna's voice and not some "spiritual" thing, wouldn't they have used the same singer to better connect it? I really don't think Iduna was the voice, as it's also weird to take her voice 6 years to reach Elsa. I think, instead, that Ahtuhollan was almost exploiting the notion of Elsa's mother to get Elsa in the cave to accept her fate.

    • @jasonniebuhr8607
      @jasonniebuhr8607 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Fangirl maybe the singing took so long to get to Elsa because the water that was in Iduna had to actually get to Ahtohallen. And the currents just didn’t really allow for that to happen quickly

    • @GuineaPig361
      @GuineaPig361 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@TheFangirlWatches Idunna called the spirit as a child, when her voice had a higher range. Two voice actresses were likely used to throw off audiences, and Evan Rachel Wood may not have had the high range. As for the voice taking six years to reach Elsa, it may be that the spirits didn't feel Elsa was ready yet, as she had to reconnect with her sister and her people. Once Elsa became more stable, the spirits felt she was ready to face the truth.

      @@TheFangirlWatches I just got a theory!!!
      "Because of Iduna's selfless act of heroism in rescuing Agnarr, nature gifted her eldest child with magical powers that would allow her to bring peace between Arendellians, Northuldras and the spirits." This is written on Disney Wiki.
      In order to bring that peace, Elsa had to learn the truth and mend the broken bridge, so the spirits gifted her with the ability to see the past similarly to Atohallen. I think that the source of the elemental magic comes from Atohallen and because of this, I believe that it was really Atohallen who gave her the powers and made Elsa the fifth spirit.
      It was Atohallen who called Elsa using Iduna's voice (we see Iduna calling to the wind spirit and it is similar to the voice Elsa hears). Also since Iduna is from one of the oldest families in the tribe it is possible she has a stronger bond with the spirits and Atohallen (remember her mother told her about the river so there has got to be a link somewhere). It took a while to hear the voice because it took Elsa a while to control and accept her powers.
      Anyways, these powers could not go to just anyone. Elsa was a perfect choice because she was half Arendellian and half Northuldra. Also, the connection Iduna had with the wind spirit and maybe the river of memories was another helping factor because there was a link right there.

      The Fangirl the voice is higher pitched because Iduna was a child then. Her voice was higher. And it was less singing and more of a tribal call.

    My gosh, everytime you upload a new video brings a smile to my face 😁😁 I can dig into your version of Arendelle's history, especially when you tie them into the writings of the book from the first film.
    It makes me think that GrandPape rock troll must have been holding back to "properly cure" Elsa when she was a child because he knew that doing so might risk her life. 🤔 But instead, Elsa and her parents were given the solution to accept the magic and control it. I bet the rock troll must about to share another solution to thaw Elsa's magic when it becomes too much through an act of "true love", but it seems the father got carried away by his urgency.
    That might have been a similar tip he gave to the parent and uncle of King Reunard (if moonlight hitting on his head gave him ice powers, or a different set of powers) but considering the King's attitude in the sequel film, I bet there was no "true love" blooming in their family relationships. 🤔

    • @TheFangirlWatches
      @TheFangirlWatches  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I only have one issue with your theory that could possibly change a lot, Prince Agnarr didn't hear Ahtohallan calling to him when he was injured, that voice he heard was the voice of Iduna, his future wife, as a child calling the wind spirit to help them. Ahtohallan used her voice to call Elsa as shown in Frozen 2 but there's a scene in the movie showing that the voice he heard was in fact Iduna. I don't know how much that would change of your theory, but I don't think him hearing a girl who was right next to him has anything to do with magic being in his bloodline. If anything the magic would have been in their mother , Iduna's, bloodline. As she was part of the Northuldra people.

    • @TheFangirlWatches
      @TheFangirlWatches  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I won't say that this version is impossible, but my impression is that Iduna was never the one singing (we hear her sing later and it's much lower than the call). I think that Ahtohallan was using the idea of Iduna to lure Elsa "home," but I'm not sure why her mother's spirit would sit silent for 6 years if it was her.

    It is true that the voice we hear the most throughout the movie is not Iduna’s. However what I was trying to say is that the song itself is the same one we see her using to call Gale. The song itself is probably a way to call for the Elemental Spirits, which why we see Iduna use it. Iduna is confirmed to be descended from one of the oldest families of the Northuldra, so she may have access to elemental knowledge that other of her would not. Remember we don’t see Gale interact anyone other than Iduna at first and she only interacts with Agnarr because Iduna is there as well. The fact Agnarr could hear it is negligible as he was in and out of consciousness at that point, so arguments could be made either way.
    Also Bruni the Salamander and Elsa are shown to hear it because they are part spirit. The voice that we hear could be the original Fifth Spirit and Elsa like Bruni, the Rock Giants, Nok and Gale is in essence the psychical Avatar for it. She is the Human Voice of the Fifth Spirit and half of the new bridge between the spirits/nature and humans along with Anna. Restoring the Balance that their grandfather broke just over three decades previously.

  • @paschameleon
    @paschameleon 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Really interesting theory. However, I do not believe that Iduna has any powers. They made it very clear that the Northuldra did not have powers, they just had a strong connection with the spirits, also Elsa got her powers because the spirits gifted Iduna with a magical child.

    • @TheFangirlWatches
      @TheFangirlWatches  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      But why would the spirits help Iduna while they're freaking out and shutting down the forest? Their relationship could have helped to fix things inside the veil, so I don't think the forest/spirits released them intentionally.

    • @paschameleon
      @paschameleon 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheFangirlWatches It can be seen that Iduna and Gale have a stronger relationship. We often see them play together so we can assume that they are friends. Iduna was calling to Gale and Gale helped her because they are friends.
      I think that the spirits wanted to trap the people in the forest because they were angry that everyone was fighting. They probably wanted both people to get along so they tried to trap them all together. I also think that the spirits are all connected to Ahtohallan in some way, it may be the source of their powers. The fact that Iduna was friends with a spirit and saved along with befriended an Arendellian boy might have been enough to grant her a magical child who would become a bridge between the Northuldra tribe, Arendellians, and the spirits.

    I have one issue with this video. Agnarr was not hearing the mystical voice of the spirit of Attahallan. He was hearing Iduna’s voice. So he was being visited by the spirits. And then the spirits were angered by what his father did. Agnarr was hurt and he hit his head. Iduna found him. That voice was her calling out for help. They show it when Elsa visits the cave of Attahallan. It’s a mystical voice for Elsa and the fire spirit because it happened 30 years ago. It was a ripple from the past. From when her parents were children. But Attahallan used Elsa’s mother’s call to call out to Elsa to get her to come. It was made for HER TO HEAR. It was special FOR HER. But the other spirits could hear it to, cause they have a bond that Elsa wasn’t aware of yet.

      It's interesting you bring this up, I was thinking about that a few weeks ago (not decided if I'll do a video or not yet). But the interesting thing is that ice freezes/stops water, obliterates fire, greatly slows down the earth, and an icy wind is dominate to a regular wind (as shown when Elsa freezes Gale to escape). It's like ice is the one thing that can tame all the elements, which is why Elsa had to use her magic to calm them all down.

    To be honest I do believe that Disney did not really think this through….. in fact it kinda makes the story darker.
    Hear me out…. With all the recent stuff coming out and new info I find something very odd..
    Why would the old king take the anger out on the tribe? It was revealed that it was because the trolls took away his queens memories…
    But it all just makes no sense.
    If that is the case then why did he not attack the trolls or his wife’s kingdom (by her leaving she did broke the marriage contract and it would have consequences).
    And to add to that what mother would willingly leave her son behind? Especially if her husband is abusive? Any mother I know would have either stayed to protect the child or run away with the kid.
    Then there are all these creatures appearing that can change memories and to add to that water is something that changes easily… so that means memories change easy…
    So does that mean that the past and truth is still unknown?
    Think about it? For all we know the trolls or something else (more evil) set everything up. Maybe the queen had her memories taken away by force (against her will) and maybe the king did not attack rather something else killed both the king and the tribe leader to make the two groups blame one another and fight one another.
    It is dark but even more darker is that changing memories and such is basically a kind of mind control when you think about it.
    The whole movie feel like there is something darker going on….. like there is a puppet master pulling the strings and Elsa, Anna and the rest are just it’s puppets, playing a role for it to get something… and something not good.

      Iduna left Agnarr behind because if she took him with her, Runeard would lead a war against her kingdom and kill many people and even threaten Agnarr's life. Runeard is never shown to be aware that Rita went to the trolls, which is why he never thinks to attack them.

    Why does Elsa have powers and Anna is normal without powers?

    • @TheFangirlWatches
      @TheFangirlWatches  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's common in genetics. If your parents both have brown eyes and both carry blue eyes (meaning they have the gene for blue eyes, even though their eyes are brown) then they you have genetics for eyes from both parents that look like like Bb (B = dominant brown eyes, b = recessive blue eyes). Each child gets either the B or the b from each parent, and that boils down to possible matches of:
      BB (brown eyes, no blue gene)
      Bb (brown eyes with blue gene)
      Bb (brown eyes with blue gene)
      bb (blue eyes only)
      Apply that same concept to a magical gene and there's only a 1 in 4 chance that Agnarr and Iduna would have a child with powers. Anna might be a carrier of magical genes, or she might not have it at all.

    Hello there Fangirl, I have watched both Frozen and Frozen II the first one a long time and the second one I watched last year the 2nd one had brought a lot of things to my attention about what I read in the Holy Bible which testifies of the Living God and His Son Jesus Christ whom He sent to come save sinners from their sins that song Elsa herself was singing show yourself and the part where they sang show yourself step into your power grow yourself into something new in plainer words and terms into something new put off the old man which is corrupt with deceitful lusts and put on the new man everyone who is in Jesus Christ the Son of God is a new creature old things are passed away behold all things are become new as it is written in 2nd Corinthians 5:17. And I am personally glad how both sisters Anna and Elsa both discovered the truth about the past by learning the truth they corrected the sin that was committed by king Runeard several years before they were born. And that name in that man's name Runeard brought to mind and remembrance of the word that is found in the book of Ezekiel chapter 18 verse 30 God Himself speaking through the prophet Ezekiel to the house of Israel to repent and turn themselves from all their transgressions so iniquity would not be their ruin. And the names Ezekiel and Elsa they both start with the letter e, that same letter e of course we can find right in the first name of the Son of God Jesus Christ and He is known as the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world and in Revelation 14:1 that passage calling Him the Lamb of God standing on mount Zion.

      You are making the assumption that the vague guess they threw out in the film was factual and not a guess. They didn't find some ancient text or any proof of what they said, it was basically a working theory to explain away the plot hole being created. The whole being blessed with a magical child thing doesn't make sense when Frozen already had an answer for the powers (or at least a partial answer). Both movies HAVE to work together.

      2 possible answers for this. 1, if Iduna was supposed to be the 5th Spirit, having a baby might have passed that magic on. 2, it could be simple genetics, so if your parents both have brown eyes and both carry blue eyes (meaning they have the gene for blue eyes, even though their eyes are brown) then they you have genetics for eyes from both parents that look like like Bb (B = dominant brown eyes, b = recessive blue eyes). Each child gets either the B or the b from each parent, and that boils down to possible matches of:

      bb (blue eyes only)
      Apply that same concept to a magical gene and there's only a 1 in 4 chance that Agnarr and Iduna would have a child with powers. Anna might be a carrier of magical genes, or she might not have magic in her DNA at all.
