Brand new Dave & Buster's (Scranton, PA)! Opening week arcade walkthrough & tour, April 2024

- The latest Dave & Buster's in the chain to make their debut in the Northeast US has just opened their doors as of this past Monday, April 15th. Centered in The Shoppes on Montage Mountain just outside of Scranton, PA, this standalone location features a smaller footprint than the average mall-attached store, so they've had to make some judicious choices with the games being added in here. There's some brand new cabinets, such as Godzilla Kaiju Wars VR and the JJ Bot The Avatar crane game, some stuff that's only rolling out at newer locations such as Marvel Avengers, Synth Riders, Zombieland, World Football Pro, and Pearl Fishery, and a lot of the old tried-and-tested redemption game favorites you'll find at almost every D&B. Sadly, this spot appears to be going the way of many new store openings in that it doesn't have any dance games; no DDR, no Pump It Up, not even a StepManiaX. In an area that's currently sorely underserved for arrow-stepping, it's kind of a disappointment to see.
Given that this was opening week, there were lots of employees out on the floor taking care to check in with the customers and constantly cleaning the machines. The restaurant area takes up the left half of the building, and for what it's worth, the burger was on point and service was excellent.

My goal is to become part of the "Blue and Orange Team." They are responsible for going to new store openings and training staff for the position you're in. I'd love to see a D&B with everything shiny, spanking new, and also travel and being paid to. Lol.

Yeah, they definitely trimmed down their game selection compared to a lot of the other locations.
Damn way to many ticket games and not enough actual arcade games. Don’t even see a single fighting game cabinet.
I legitimately can't even remember the last time I saw a fighting game at any D&B, not counting Injustice or the Marvel knockoff
@@S1ckH4ndsRBN This is my first Dave and Busters. Went there other day still had good time but I was basing my expectations on Round 1. Which also made me surprised at the lack of rhythm games as well.
Same old shit, overpriced games, overpriced card loading costs, value-decreased prizes, and for this location in about a year, too many broken/incorrectly functioning games.

Plus they don't carry pinball machines anymore... Not as if they repaired them anyway. Last time I went to a D&B with a pinball machine, it was Times Square and they had (if I remember correctly, because it had the Giants logo on it) a Stern NFL. I played it for a few seconds, then the ball popped, got stuck somewhere it shouldn't be able to get stuck at, and there was no one around available to fix it (as well as the playfield was dirty and dark).
