    Great job with the book sleeve. This is perfect for Christmas too! You can use this instead of wrapping paper

    Can you just use regular batting instead of the fuseable fleece?

    • @hookedandhemmed
      @hookedandhemmed  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah you'll just want to make sure you sew it in so it doesn't move around

    Would you be able to use stuffing instead of the fleece?

    • @hookedandhemmed
      @hookedandhemmed  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Quilt Batting might work. As long as it's flat. Stuffing doesn't really lie flat.

  • @nicholehikes

    Are these machine washable after putting in the fleece?

    • @hookedandhemmed
      @hookedandhemmed  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah. I would check with the specific fleece you use but they should be fine in cold cycle. I would lay flat though and not put in the dryer. Be sure to prewash fabric before sewing though as washing after can cause shrinking and puckering.

    That is amazing and I'm gonna make one so soon. I just got so confused by how to measure the dimensions of the fabric according to the book. I mean I just need more illustration concerning adding inches to the book dimensions. I just didn't get it. Can anyone help me??

    • @hookedandhemmed
      @hookedandhemmed  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      So a typical book is usually 6 inches by 9 inches. I cut out a 8 by 11 inch peice so I had room for the 1/4 inch seam allowance and larger hardcover books. A 7 by 10 inch piece should be good for a standard paperbook book or thinner hard cover. 😊

    • @raisavaz
      @raisavaz 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @TarneemAhmed I have another way to solve the problem of measuring that usually works for me: make a sleeve out of newspaper or by joining pieces of printer paper or any waste sheets of paper. That way you will know how big a piece of cloth you will need for the sleeve and you can add extra for the seams as you require. Always keep a little more than you think you need.
