Very informative and easy to understand. I've been suffering from lower back pain for years and have just recently been referred for a MRI, though I don't know why it took so long
I've never had an MRI before but I am having one tomorrow. If I stand up for longer than about 15 minutes my upper right leg goes numb. Anyway thank you for this video, Dr. Cooper. I didn't know that MRI's don't give off any radiation. I thought I'd ben exposed to a ton of it tomorrow and was uneasy about this. Your video brings me some peace and insight about tomorrow testing.
Does it matter what you get when the pain is ridiculous? I took my MRI to spine doc and he immediately took an xray too. Severe stenosis. No cure. Only surgery. My choice to do that but couldnt do injection as so collapsed. Ughh
Thanks, I got an X-Ray and it did not show anything of significance.

Do one need a MRI with contrast or without contrast for Sciatic nerve pain? I'm just trying to do this 1 x as I've already wasted money on X-rays.
Can you tell from an MRI the age of an injury? For example, say a compression fracture from 20 years ago vs 6 months ago?

Will a hemangioma just come on suddenly in adulthood, and should it be able to be seen in previous MRI(s) too?
