There are a lot of K-pop live stage covers because one of the big things they love to do in the industry is paying homage to their senior groups/artists. Some of the ones I really enjoy is BTS covering Rainism by RAIN, and ERIC NAM covering Gashina & Yes or Yes.. Thanks for doing this one! TWICE slays!
Taemin is definitely in his own league but Twice did amazing too. The problem is for a dance performance there were a lot of close shots which was a mistake on Mnet's part. You have to watch fancam from the front to see how good it actually was. Especially Momo. She has the same intensity as Taemin when she dances. Twice versatility is not much appreciated but when they separate in units you can see very different side from the usual Twice. Most of them have deeper voices so it is very interesting when they cover male groups songs. This is good example of that and you can check their cover of Winner - Really Really too. Another interesting song covered by Nayeon and Jeongyeon is "Eye candy". BTW at their recent concert they covered Teamin's Sayonara hitori and Born This Way by Lady Gaga.

I can recognize that these other idols dance really well, and yet when I see Taemin dance, I can't take my eyes off of him. It's especially apparent in the covers of Move, which the other idols dance well and with their own style, but... Taemin is just mesmerizing when he performs it. I do like seeing that other idol groups cover Taemin, though. It's just more evidence showing how other artists respect him, which, as a fan, I highly approve of. ❤️

Twice performance is always lit, that shows how professional they are. They work hard making fans appreciate their performance. Move by twice is one of my most fav cover ever in kpop.
twice did another cover for Taemin's goodbye too during their Twicelights concert .....that was also equally awesome, highly recommended !!! and personally i feel the black attire of Mina during breakthrough mv is an inspiration from this cover performance .... black swan mina just looks stunning with pony tail and black long sleeve crop top !!!!! This was a great cover and it fits Twice really well (you rarely see this side of Twice because they're supposed to have a cute/girly concept), but it's not as groundbreaking as Taemin doing Move because of expected stereotypes: it's okay for girls to be subtle, sensual, dance well and sing softly, but it's not expected from guys. Taemin really broke it with this song. Oh, and when pronouncing Korean, try to make the R soft like when you say the T in city. Americans have a tendency to roll the Rs in a way few other countries do :)

The basic premise is a contemporary performer arranges & covers a trot song (traditional Korean folk song). This is a great example of their creativity & diversity. The rap part was written by the rapper who, coincidentally, is the only one who appears in both covers. Her name is Chaeyoung & she is probably the most under used & under appreciated performer in Kpop right now....she’s essentially this generations Yoon Bora.
no. they didnt dance like taemin, trust me, ive watch taemin dances sooo many many time so i just knew it..😄 Twice cover was sooo greattt too, but they did it with their own style. trust me. peace.
Momo definitely did the best here, especially 3:49 which they all did differently from each other. I think it's the transition between the slow to fast to a snap that's a little missing. I don't know if this makes sense haha but this is what I see when Taemin performs this. It's generally a slow song so the moves are slow, except when he flicks his arms or his hands which he does by accelerating from 0-100 in a heartbeat and then coming to an abrupt stop at the end of a move. So in speed it's like 0000000000-100-0 and it always looks like he's just taking a leisurely stroll while others look a bit rushed. Another thing is that most of the covers do the hand movement and the footwork but I believe in this song Taemin's moves involve the whole body. How he bends his spine, squares his arms, tilts his head as he does a hand movement are all part of the step. That being said, I find that the females that have covered this have done better overall. Maybe because they use more similar steps in their own dances.
You should have seen momo fancam of this cover ... there was one with very good quality but kbs banned it for copyright ... Anyway if you have seen that you would say that momo and taemin are on par in dancing .... this is my opinion but ... so many people agreed with me when they saw it Momo's dance is shadowed by other members not saying they are not good ... but momo is another whole level
If you want to see another side of TWICE, other than cutesy side, then yeah you gotta watch for cover of them since they always chose different concept to cover. And did you know that Momo is the best female idol dancer in Kpop as of now according to idols this generation iirc(idols voted for the best dancer and Taemin and Momo both ranked one and Momo being the only GG member in the list) and Lia Kim, best dancer in Korea and also taught dancing to many idols and choreo to many kpop song. So it is not surprising seeing Momo nailing Taemin's move, not saying she did better but she did an awesome job.
The difference between Taemin's dance and other artists dancing to me is that Taemin's movements always looked controlled however big the actions are... I always feel a tension in his movements... I am watching this performance for the first time as im watching this reaction... Twice is doing a good job with this cover... Especially Momo... But, still for me their movements lack the controlled tension that Taemin has when he dances... Just my opinion...
for the most part idols are like really good stereo equipment - able to reproduce the source material to a high level - in this case the choreographers and music producers are the source material. Taemin is a great performer and was able to do a phenomenal job with the Move choreo in part because he danced it with and learned directly from the choreographer - something i doubt the Twice members were able to do. you may look at Twice doing this and say Wow Taemin is an amazing dancer, i look at both this and Taemin and think Wow, what an amazing choreographer

Dude you must watch their practice for this shot by Chaeyoung's phone. Mina was ten times more comfortable in casual outfit and her performance was phenomenal. Not to mention Sana jamming in the background. Thank me later!
