Take out the dipstick, take off the oil filler cap, remove the oil filter first then drain the oil this makes the oil drain more freely

Do it while it's hot. Not cold. When it hot you get more debris and crap that settles when cold.

01:34 "... it shouldn't be that tight ..." if you put it on, that is. Otherwise, ... so bring the right type filter wrench just in case.
PS: I like how you drained the oil without getting a drop on your hands. 👍🏼🤠
    Thanks.
PPS: all you new guys, make sure the rubber seal came out with the old filter... where he rubs his finger to get some oil for the new filter seal... Otherwise, you actually have to look up at the metal face to be sure there's nothing there... or feel for one... This should be routine 'cause you can't be sure the gasket surface us "clean" otherwise.

Just a heads up: You're using the wrong oil on a 2.3L 4 cyl.
Oil needed is SAE 5W-2O not the 5W-30. (page 260 of owner's manual)
Filter needed is FL-400S (page 257 of owner's manual)

@@juanramos6976 Running thicker oil is not optimal for an engine. It's been engineered a specific way for internal heat. Computer components in the vehicle can recognize it as an imbalance also and cause damage to other parts/sensors.
It's better to use specified information, and if altering suggested specs, to give a disclosure that they're altering the components used, and to proceed with caution. Some people don't know anything about cars watching this video and can take incorrect advice.

@@laymensgrowing2032 That would be for the 3.0L and 4.0L engine variants
You could run it but it's going to cause a slight strain in your engine since it's thicker

@@laymensgrowing2032 perhaps they adjusted it. I'm working on a 2007 2.3 4cl Ranger right now though and the manual states 5w 20

whenever you get a chance, you should do a video of your house/the area you live in.
