I've had one for about a year. This thing still works like a charm. It's a higher quality grill so it's not something you're gonna put on the street with a free sign in 3-5 years. Id recommend getting the 2/3 griddle and a cover. Also this thing can get Really Hot 🔥. So be mindful@@justinvoye8967
Just bought one and completed the burn in/seasoning. I had the same experience. The oil on my rag started to catch fire. However, I powered this ape back and let it cool prior to the reset. Worked out fine. Bacon is next up! Thanks for sharing.
What are the dimensions of the griddle tray? The 490 sq in cooking area listed in the specs sounds small for the size of the grill. Can't seem to find that listed anywhere. Thanks!
Mine was one of the first shipped. I regret buying it vs a stand alone griddle. I hate that you cant store the griddle in the cabinet under the grill, that's a Huge miss and I don't think it was addressed. It's a pain moving it before and after every cook. I wish the lid had more height, it limits your options. Also wish the edging around the side was higher or the grates sat lower, it gets messy. I've also had issues with heat control, had knobs melt down and 2 thermometers have exploded. Wish I kept my old weber and bought a dedicated griddle.
i like the look of the hood. and that is heavier than some of the after market griddle covers i have seen. What is the grade of stainless steel used in the construction? i have only read that it is high quality.
I’m wondering the same thing, they conveniently left out this important number. Also most grills at this price point use a fully sealed aluminum grill case while this one is not. The hinge mechanism which is a single post on either side is something you find on lower-priced grills. Not exactly quality. I think the biggest plus about this grill is the conversion to griddle, it’s definitely not the overall construction and quality. I’m leaning towards the Canadian made Napoleon Prestige 500. It’s at a higher price point but it’s far superior in quality and warranty. No griddle, but I can purchase an aftermarket one for $200.
This is my next grill...wish there was a upper shelf option.. they have a store located here in Michigan..about a 3 he round trip..like the option of smaller griddle and 1 grill grate.. This grill here is built for a lifetime of use being made out of 100% stainless steel components, burner's, cross over tubes just needs a few more options before I buy..upper shelf and front foldable shelf..
When my weber propane grill kicks the bucket most likely this season this will be the grill i will get. But i want that 2/3 griddle they now have. Perfect combo. Great video. How is it holding up??
Oh it’s holding up just fine. We have pretty harsh winters in the northwest on grills with all the rain. I do have a patio cover so that helps. All it needs right now is a good cleaning. I also use the 2/3 griddle set up. Perfect for my family. I also converted it to natural gas so no filing tanks up anymore. Hope this helps.
@@TheHollarBBQ awesome. I was not impressed with the quality of the Blackstone. This should be a nice complement to my smoker. Thanks man, I’m going to order tomorrow, your videos are very helpful
So happy to have found your review. I've been waiting for them to come back in stock so I can order one up. Can you post the measurements of the grill sections? What is the length width of that section? I have a set of grill grates and I am wondering if they will fit. Thanks!
Still testing it out. I’ve had this happen more than once but putting the griddle back in yesterday I slid the griddle as far left as I could. Looks like it will work better. Stay tuned.
Anyone know what the measurement is for the amount of clearance in the grill when the lid is closed? seems more shallow than most. Thanks for any help anyone has!
Thanks for the response and glad to hear it’s still rockin’ and rollin’. I picked one up during Black Friday (20% off on +$1K orders) along with the 2/3 griddle, getting it for what the price was a year ago. Arriving today….excited!
It’s remarkable how a company with so many positive “reviews” on their website has absolutely no paper trail. How can there be absolutely no mention of their grills in grilling publications? Why no TH-cam reviews outside of their own and one vendor? Something doesn’t add up.
Look up the grilla grills owners Facebook page. You will find thousands of owner reviews. They were also just purchased by outdoor life company. They own smith and Wesson.
@@nousername4956 thank you. I ultimately purchased the Member’s Mark Pro Series 5 burner griddle from Sam’s Club. It was only $300 and is constructed with top notch quality. Their grills are made by Procan & Nexgrill and are of superb quality. The Grilla was one that I pondered and reviewed, however not the one for me. They are completely overpriced. I don’t want a grill too when I’m purchasing a griddle. Once you griddle, open flames grilling is a thing of the past. I’m buying a griddle to griddle. Grilla’s grease drain is horribly located. The cook top isn’t large enough when compared to all others. But yeah, I pondered it. I made an incredible choice and purchased the best griddle out there in my strong opinion. Check them out, you’ll see for yourself. Thanks and take care
Excellent video, I finally made my decision.
I ordered one.
Thank you
I have this
And you should too!
Excellent build quality and even better customer service
It really is.
It's been a little more than 2 years since you made this video. How has it held up? If you had the choice, would you still buy it?
I'm really considering this griddle at the moment, any word on this?
@@justinvoye8967 well, the creator of this video never replied. But I do happen to know someone that does have it. They are very happy with it.

Just found your channel. Interested in this model and wondered how it’s holding up for you. Great video!
Still using it multiple times a week.
Wow that looks very nice. I love my camp chef but this might go on my wish list. Great video, thank you.
No problem. This thing is a beast. Thanks for watching

That means nothing, “stainless steel” is too broad a term. Most stainless steel will rust. I find it interesting they don’t list the type of ss used?
how has it performed so far. I am still researching and waiting to buy one
I hope they have a half griddle option coming. Sometimes you want both. Good show sir.
Thank you sir.
That's funny I just ordered mine last night and what's first my wife says, would be nice if had half size griddle.😂
they have a 3/4 griddle available

@@TheHollarBBQ yes it does. Thx for the update.
Put your grates on backwards. Finger hole goes to the back.
But doesn’t really matter.
Nice!
I really want this but they are sold out!
How’s it holding up a couple years later? I’m strongly considering this over a Blackstone
I still use it multiple times a week. It’s gets way hotter than a Blackstone. Have to be careful.

Kevin do you mind sharing the gas line you used from regulator to the natural gas connection? Thanks and another amazing video.
I will shoot a video and post on Facebook for you.
@@TheHollarBBQ thanks Kevin. I’ve tried to find a hose but can’t find one.

Just ran out and measured. 19 1/2 x 33 1/2.
That’s the entire grilling area
@@TheHollarBBQ You're awesome thank you so much!
Will you ever use the grill or mainly the griddle? Would like to see how the grill performs with the shallow lid.
Oh I will do a video with the grill. Probably a few.
@@TheHollarBBQ i just bought mine, and waiting, and was wondering how well the lid worked being shallow?
I'll be curious to see how often you use the grill feature. Did you say the grill sections fit in the base when not in use?
They do that’s where I have them right now.
Does the grease management not work well? Looks like bacon grease bypassed the designed griddle grease management and ended up on the grill grate pan.
Still testing it out. I’ve had this happen more than once but putting the griddle back in yesterday I slid the griddle as far left as I could. Looks like it will work better. Stay tuned.

Does this come in a drop in version for built in cabinets?
Not yet. I did hear they were working on it though.
Great video. What oil did you use for seasoning?
Just straight vegetable oil. Thanks for watching.
How has it held up in regards to rust ?
I have no rust so far.
Ive got there chimp pellet smoker, good quality and works great
Yeah I have a silverback also. Great company.
Just curious, it’s been a year since this video and wondering if you’re still enjoying this grill or moved on? If the latter, why? Thanks!!

@@TheHollarBBQ $1099 now. Guess I shoulda bought it last year :)
You’re losing approximately 100 square inches of cooking space. Actually 130. The Blackstone is 720 square inches compared to the Grilla’s 590.
The primate is a MUCH higher quality product than the blackstone. Losing the cooking space is not that big of a deal because it’s still plenty big.
