- Aidan O'Brien became the winning-most trainer in the history of the G1 Juddmonte Irish Oaks as Savethelastdance won a dramatic renewal of the fillies' Classic at the Curragh.
Ridden by Ryan Moore, the 10/11 favourite looked in big trouble entering the final couple of furlongs and traded at 999/1 in running on Betfair.
However, once finding her stride, she powered home under the relentless Moore drive to overhaul the Ralph Beckett-trained Bluestocking to capture the 12-furlong event by a half-length.
O'Brien has now won the Irish 2000 Guineas, Irish Derby and the Irish Oaks this year to go along with Epsom Derby glory. What a trainer.

"I was lucky enough to ride Galileo in a lot of his work and I won the Derrinstown on him as well," he said. "His progeny didn't hold grudges. Every day is a new day with a Galileo. They just want to please you. It doesn't matter if you did the wrong thing the previous day.
"It is impossible to scar a Galileo. Most horses would run through a brick wall the first time you ask them to do it, but they wouldn't go back a second time. A Galileo would. You wouldn't find a Galileo waving a white flag."

you said it and i have backed him to win this years donkey derby at Skegness......got my holiday money on him.
Moore is a very very good jockey. But put any of the others today on that filly at the 2f pole and they would have won as well. She just hit her stride at the 1f pole. She won the race, not the jockey. That's not knocking him at all but, in the context of the other very good jockeys there today who would have produced the same result had they been on her, it was no big deal.

I backed the winner but the ride on warm Heart disgusting. Totally changed the tactics from ascot to make sure the favourite won it's group one. Can't blame punters who get irate.

No disrespectful, Ryan earned his money and all credit to him, but those saying great ride are wrong, he simply never gave up on a filly that really should have won it easily, most good jockeys would have done that same, Savethelastdance is the only group one placed filly running in a group one race in name only, she even had the ground in her favour.

A very, very poor classic. Got to be one of the slowest horses ever to win a classic - they went past it as if it was standing still but stamina won the day.

Appalling performance from a horse who some thought was something special after her Cheshire Oaks win. The Epsom Oaks showed us that she's nothing at all special.
