Hi ken. Your jeep looks awesome . I just bought 2022 wrangler unlimited sport. I would like put 17x9 on 37s. I was thinking 3.5 Metalcloak game changer with Metalcloak steering kit. Upgrade Driveshaft and re gearing 4.88. What do you think ?
Hey Ken. Just stumbled across this while researching what I’m going to do and figured I’d ask you your thoughts. Just picked up a Rubicon gladiator with the eco diesel. Of course need some height to it. It’ll be mainly my daily driver so only going with 35x12.5x17. A very highly respected shop said I should go with the 3.5” metalcloak Lift. My concern is that 3.5 with only 35” tires is going to leave too much of a gap. I feel like 2” would look best. What are your thoughts with your experience. Really appreciate it. Beautiful Jeep 👍🏼
MC 3.5 inches is definitely tall as I came from 2.5 inches..for a 35-inch tire...it should look fine with 2.5 inches lift. but if you do have 3.5 maybe eventually you'd want to run 37s? but if you're set on 35's...2.5 inches should be enough.
Ken, do the MC lifts require maintenance? I heard both opinions… like they need greasing every six months or so. Did the shop or MC recommend this? I don’t want to have to maintain my lift.
Clearly that’s a ADD “stealth fighter” full width bumper. It usually comes powder coated black, that’s a custom pain job. I have one on order ;). Expensive bumper and the lights, winch flare adapter(for warn winches) and the skid plate are all extra.
@UCcNfwWx33aOEUgm8D-OS71g is strongly suggest you get the steer smarts brace as well. That will tight up the steering quite a bit, especially on the freeway. I own a major offroad shop in Southern California
@@motoken seems weird right 🤷🤷 unfortunately, this is not the case, and to be sure, I do this as part of my profession, anyway, they sell brackets that bolt into your shock mounting points, thereby RAISING the mounting points 🤷 so you could of used that money elsewhere, instead of buying MORE shocks, cause I already know them racing shocks you got ain't cheap bro....lesson learned for ya next time 👍👍
@@motoken they do adapt, not wrong size, I've used them several times with no issues. As far as recommending this, I do that as well. If you have perfectly good shocks that cost that much, or even a little cheaper, why would I recommend buying more shocks🤷. Great video and beautiful Jeep. Metal Cloak makes a kit where you can use your existing stock length shocks. see you on the trail.
Jeep looks great, Metalcloak is a good lift kit…. Should give you an additional 15” of articulation!!
Your front sway bar is at a crazy steep angle. It needs to be level at normal ride height.
Tell metalcloak that
I noticed that too, I'm curious if that is by design for flex over extension? But then why wouldn't you just disconnect the swaybars?

You are in San Carlos ? where is this parking lot?
Can you post the links to your tire carrier and that license plate mount please?
Hi! Nice Jeep!! Can you tell me how tall is your garage door ? 7 feets ? Thanks
Hi Ken, Are your wheels 18 inch? Great build.
Damn! That grey is beautiful
Thanks for the video. What kind of rock rails? Have you used them much? Does the wife like them as a step?
Smittybilt..works great as a step
Is a great rubicon, what brand of bumpers do you have

How does the steering feel? Tight/ loose vs heavy /light
feels great..I have no issues.
how tall is your garage opening. I have the same worry it gunna fit in my garage

I wasn't told to do that by MC....I would suggest just doing the re-greasing if you start to hear the noise.
Whered you get your rear 3.0 Diesel badge?
Nice man! What bumper is that?

I don’t think metal cloak makes springs for the diesel. In other words that will likely sag and underperform, especially over time.
Unless you know something they don't. They did guarantee that it will not sag for the ecodiesel so...are you right or are they right?

I own a major offroad shop in Southern California
I dont have any steering issues or noticed anything wrong with my current steering setup...just the coil sag was my main issue
Metalcloak themselves installed it...I would assume they wouldn't risk their reputation with failure prone components that they install themselves.
@@motoken weve seen that but I guess you could get lucky but we’ve swapped a bunch over
You swapped Fox Factory series shocks with res. for Rock sport shocks....................... WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!??!?!?!
Im guessing they werent long enough but dang that sucks
@@cmeraz187 You clearly have no idea.
Just curious. What is the distance between your front bump stops? I have the same lift and mine are about 2 1/4-3 1/2 apart.
how tall is it from ground to roof?
Why didn't you just do the 2.5 metal cloak
Cause 3.5 is better
Where did u get ur rims
All's you had to do was get their bracket kit for the shock🤷🤷 then you could of used the fox racing shocks. Looks good though 👍
Wtf...the fox was for 2.5 lift...im at 3.5 lift now..why would I use a 2.5 shock?

@@williamh6547 why adapt shorter shocks? Just use the proper length shock for the application. I do not like cutting corners to "save".
What is the overall height of the Wrangler now?
I just installed a 3.5 gc i am still on stock 33s my height is about 77 inch
What size tires are you running
37s
Are you wearing a mask alone in your car?
I have full hazmat suit on with goggles. Are you really on here asking about masks from a video posted in 2021?
What specific kind of tires is that??
