WOW 👏 What a difference, Between now and then thanks to TH-cam and people that take the time to do it we get to see the old episodes thank you hello everyone😊
This is the day I was born. At this episode, Barker had been hosting The Price is Right for almost 10 years, and he would continue into my adulthood. Amazing.
@katiejackson7907 Bob Barker could be spiteful. And sometimes he treated women in a way that wouldn't be considered appropriate today. Maybe it's nostalgia talking, but it is the more positive things that stand out in my mind.
This was 3 days before I was born. Knowing that my mom is probably watching this while overly pregnant for my late ass is really crazy. I am forever grateful of the archivists that choose to hold on to such treasures
I love that the TV ads are left. It brings an awesome feeling and nostalgic feeling and for a moment it brings you back to the good old days, and I literally forget any worries. It's sort of like a therapeutic relaxation tv. It helps out way more that I was not born on the 70's but 80;s I didn't get to enjoy this but which I could.
@@jamesmcclelland1414 Thank you James. I'm voice texting I made a boo boo 🤣thank you for your knowledge 😁I appreciate it😉 I think I'll go golfing tomorrow lol not
I was a freshman in college when this show aired. I air conditioning in cars being an option a lot of people couldn’t afford. Now AC is pretty much a standard feature.
When this was aired on CBS daytime, I did not watch this episode because I was at Sutherland Elementary School with Sally Case as teacher and Lynette Larson as coteacher.
I love this era of prizes. I would want some of this stuff now, if they were still available. I’m thinking about that stereo loveseat that they’d give away sometimes. Cool piece of furniture.
I find it weird watching these 80s Price Is Right episodes where 3 strikes is played for a cheap car. From the early 90s, till now, it's been played for nice cars, but seems to get played less, in recent years.
Joker and POker Game were retired in 2007, Hit Me was retired in 2006. Stack the Deck, you could make a case, uses playing cards numbered 0-9, and it debuted in 2006.
If I got that yellow ford I’d sell it next day!! How Ford could destroy a classic Mustang is a mystery to me….but they did just that. A 1981 BMW 320i or a Mercedes 300D look way classier than that lump of metal Ford called a Mustang! Sad😢
WOW 👏 What a difference, Between now and then thanks to TH-cam and people that take the time to do it we get to see the old episodes thank you hello everyone😊
Absolutely agree and very well said 👏
Hi back! 😃
👍🤍
Even the commercials were a lot better than the ones we have now.
Hello 😊
this broadcast of TPIR aired on my mom's birthday in 1981! she was 33! R.I.P. mom! i love and miss ❤️ you soooo much!
Sorry for your loss
This is the day I was born. At this episode, Barker had been hosting The Price is Right for almost 10 years, and he would continue into my adulthood. Amazing.
He stayed way too long especially when he got hateful and grouchy. Love Drew

@@michaelgoff4504 Always heard that and totally see it. Would have never flew to-day. Just as egotistical perv

Lucky seven is the toughest game on the show in my opinion. Who agrees??
I think it's pretty tough, too. One Away is another tough one; I almost never get it right.
Without a doubt, it's the toughest game on TPIR.
@@docadams7099 yes
@@jackbusby9602I wholeheartedly agree! They should dump it and refurbish a winnable game like Hit Me.
Anyone else notice how few commercials there were back in the day? ... And not commercials with side effects of death?
lol
Who was the audience of "The Price is Right" back then? 🤷🏽♂️
Awesome, another rare, original broadcast of TPIR from 1981 surfaces in excellent quality w/o/c :-)
Finally we get to see the full episode. I have seen edited clips of this episode on TH-cam and now we have the entire episode.
Me Too!😊👏👏 And thank you🤩
😊
James do you know ,when they Changed, golf game ⛳️ in one, Became whole or two...

12:52 that’s Peter Billingsley of “Christmas Story” fame as Messy Marvin in the Hershey’s syrup spot
Can't believe how badly they destroyed A Christmas Story with that woke crap part 2.
I miss 1981!!!!
Marlene Sanders, who anchored CBS Newsbreak, passed away back in 2015 at age 84.
The cue for the jukebox was the instrumental version of Dan Hartman's "Instant Replay".
That HIT ME/BLACKJACK game never should've been retired.
Tpir was opposite Las Vegas Gambit in philly
This was back when I started taking days out of school because I prefered Price Is Right school.
I was a freshman in college when this show aired. I air conditioning in cars being an option a lot of people couldn’t afford. Now AC is pretty much a standard feature.
I always liked these vintage episodes of TPIR better than the current ones. Thanks for the upload.
I was 6 months old
80s are the best decade of my life
8:30 that forced smile that you put on because the prize is not a car
Everytime 😂
When this was aired on CBS daytime, I did not watch this episode because I was at Sutherland Elementary School with Sally Case as teacher and Lynette Larson as coteacher.
I'm so glad you got to see 😁it exciting isn't it🤩
I'd be going back and forth with 3 and 29 back then
Those robot lamps were on Antiques Roadshow!! Unfortunately I can’t remember how much they were appraised for.
Every single prize is long gone....except that le cruset cookware.
I was born on 17 Sep 1981
You are almost 99 years old now 😂
36:49 Larinda and her husband remind me of Peggy and Hank Hill from King of the Hill, they’re even from Texas!
I love this era of prizes. I would want some of this stuff now, if they were still available. I’m thinking about that stereo loveseat that they’d give away sometimes. Cool piece of furniture.
I was watching this show with my 4 month old son 🥰🥹
I was 3 months 😊

@@guerralg63 Yes, June 5th. I love watching shows from that time since I don't remember 😂
@@Cheirosa81 Happy belated birthday 🎂 It was a wonderful time to be born!!
Love your PIR uploads - amazing quality!!!
Johnny was the best to call people
Yup, and he very rarely made a mistake when describing the products.
Roddy was good, too
And the commercials crack me up🤣😅 Boy have the prices changed🙃 lol, On everything.😅
Lol everything thing so high now!!!!!!!
Even the commercials were a 1000 times better back then.
It’s funny, I was 18 years old when this aired and I still remember many of these commercials. And, for what it’s worth, Corn Bran was delicious 😊
That scarecrow was adorable 🥰
Alberta was one of the best contestants they've had. I was rooting for her from the second she made her first bid!
Price was the only game show on CBS.At least we didn't have a million medicine, auto insurance and lawyer commercials shived in our faces.
I cannot believe that they are still using ads with Eve Arden! Love it.
Nostalgia... a heck of a drug!
this was when Squeeze Play was still behind the Giant Price Tag before it was moved to the turntable
You also have all the broadcasting of that era on television.
Bienvenue a price is right
8:31. What a beautiful man. 😍😍😍😘😘😘
You know it !!
45 seconds of commercials, those were the days.
In the Cool Whip commercial, wasn't that Sister Jacqueline as Sarah?
Wow, super rare to play a car game 4th back then!
Lol...I just realized who "Messy Marvin" is....."Ralphie" from A Christmas Story. All these yrs n I never noticed.
$1000 back then was a lot of money, today it’s nothing
It's a lot to me!
I wonder if that's Joey Lawrence from Gimme a Break on Corn bran commercial
12:25 so creepy, lol
Anyone else fake the flu from school just to curl up on the couch and watch TPIR. Grilled cheese and tomato soup and the black/orange/ brown Afghan.
I find it weird watching these 80s Price Is Right episodes where 3 strikes is played for a cheap car. From the early 90s, till now, it's been played for nice cars, but seems to get played less, in recent years.
Didn't Larry Sales used to be on WKBW tv (Buffalo, NY)?
PS lol so the hairstyles and clothes🤣 I'm not saying it's good or bad it's just different.😲 And I love it all what goes around comes around again..😉💜💅
Good job Annn
They must have had some cheap (inexpensive) prizes then; $299 was an overbid (here lately, that wouldn't even come close to being one).
It may be because of inflation. $299. Is the same value as $966.00 today. It's not because they were cheap prizes.
They were not cheap, it was 1981! Things did not cost as much as now, of course.
@@MontagZoso That's why I said "inexpensive" in the first comment.
47:30 is that Bob Goen speaking?
@10:46 i'm hungry for some Uncle Ben's expensive "converted" rice/////
Amazing!! How and where did you get that full episode?
James Shea posted the full episode in the Classic TPIR Lovers group back in November last year.
Gosh did Bob anchored the show a gazillion times better than Snoozefest Drew
Since hit me has been retired the only mini game on the price is right that involves playing cards is card game
Joker and POker Game were retired in 2007, Hit Me was retired in 2006. Stack the Deck, you could make a case, uses playing cards numbered 0-9, and it debuted in 2006.
19” color Tv , oh boy!
Well what did Larry sale?
I don't understand the Hit Me game
Its basically blackjack.
No need to understand it, the game was retired because it was confusing especially to younger contestants
