Rich Jeffries wasn't that bad of an announcer, but he definitely had a very weak announcing voice. In fact, his nasally mannerisms remind me a lot of Jay Stewart or whatever the name was of the guy who announced Lets Make A Deal, because like Rich Jeffries, Jay Stewart had a very nasally style of announcing. But Rich Jeffries was still a fine announcer nevertheless.

I had one of those car phones back in 88 in the work truck that I had delivering parts for Scoles Cadillac in Morrow GA. I was just out of high school and loved the freedom of that job. Having a car phone was a rare thing in those days. I used to call my girlfriend up and go pick her up and she would ride with me delivering parts all day. It was such a great fun job, being out on my own away from the work place and basically on my own. Those days I rarely watched this show. But before I got my license when i spent all my time at home except school days I would watch it quite a bit. And Dianne was so pretty then I remember. She actually was 1st runner up in Ms Universe back in 69 I think was the date

The contestants were really wholesome people back then. Today's contestants are a very different type of person.
