I know many people are going to call this video out for glorifying White Supremacy and Apartheid, but this person is clearly expressing this flag as a piece of history, and the pride and heritage of the Afrikaner community.
@@allm_ond6661 they’re both pretty lovely. Appreciate how the orange-red in the new one is half way between the orange preferable to afrikaners and the red preferable to British South Africans
the flag isnt racist, doesn't have racist meanings, but while the flag was official the government of South Africa commited crimes against the Human Rights, like the "Apartheid" the South African Government divided classes by Races (until this seems ok but then) but one of the races would get more rights and quality than the other.
From the perspective of time apartheid wasn't an crazy system. In fact apartheid could be considered a step towards liberty, because slavery was outlawed with this system. But over the years apartheid became dusty and not right in our time-thinking. And that's why it's good it's gone now
This South Africa was 90 % safe for black and white South Africans including, countryside like Lesotho Namibia Botswana Zimbabwe , Mozambique , New South Africa of Mandela problems
It’s a beautiful flag, I like it, it even hangs in my room, but I don’t support apartheid and the white government I'm thinking of buying the current South African flag🇿🇦, I'm starting to like it too
The new flag is "different" but contains no meaning, so leaves mixed feelings: it is distinct & colourful, but works in reverse, as you have to add patriotism to it... Thus, one returns to the real flag, which speaks also for the modern civilization, job security and personal security of South Africa.
The orange is not dark enough. I have a old south african fla myself and even in the era before 1994 the Orange war darker. But i remember before 1984 the blue became darker on the flag
You guys have a much better flag nowadays. This flag, though I'm not offended by it (why would I be I'm not south African) is pretty bad looking. Three flags inside of a flag, with two of those flags having another flag in them? Flag in a flag in a flag. Rightly got rid of it.
While I’m also not offended by it (as I’m British 🇬🇧) I think this flag has positives and negatives. The flag came out during the 20s to recognise the coming together of British South Africa and the two Boer Republics (the Transvaal and the Orange Free state) of which all their flags are included. But the flag does not take into consideration the African tribes such as the Zulus or Xhosas.

@@chillking5438 I didn't say it was,nor did I say it was a equivalent to one. However this flag should not be celebrated due to what it represents, which is apartheid.
@@marccronje8325 it doesn't represent apartheid, this flag predates the apartheid period and was firstly adopted to represent the new Union of South Africa years before the apartheid.
South Africa is also not Germany. Oh well, even in the days of that flag, there were some whites who were not in favour of it, reckoning that it was too Afrikaner. But, we should have the right to display it. It can also be heritage, not hate. It's also typical of human nature to focus on negative things.
I uploaded a new video of this flag that I think turned out much better
The true South African flag
We'll never forget you, South Africa. Just like Rhodesia. The South African Union never died. We will keep your soul alive in our hearts
🤨
just end it you racist
I'm pretty sure most South Africans and Rhodesians aren't particularly fond of each other.

... people say the same thing for the confederate flag, is it still valid?
Beatiful flag, its not racist in any way its just better than modern south africa
No
FYI this flag existed before Apartheid, so it’s not racist.
@@Anonymous-o8jisn't like South Africa wasn't racist before the apartheid. But yeah this flag's great ngl
Rhodesia and the Old South Africa flag is good compared to their modern one.
Personally, I think the current SA flag looks better, but the old flag is nice too with the details to the transvaal and oranje free state

Aint no way this guy just compared this piece of sh*t to the current beauty. That being said, it is al least an interesting flag.

@NRWagstaff5213 both are very nicely designed too

Also interesting never knew it was meant to be flown with the pole on the right.
I don’t think it is, it’s just the one I bought put the grommets on the wrong side for some reason
Daar is mos nou n vlag bly maar mooi hy hang in my huis ook sal daar bly dit my land my vlag bravo ❤
Anybody know somewhere online where I can buy one of these flags 3x5 in cotton?
Cotton flags are pretty hard to come by it seems, but I think eBay would be your best bet
There’s the flag of the UK on it, Not sure why it had anything to do with apartheid racism whatsoever
The Union Jack must be on the hoist side of the flag and not on the fly side of the flag.
I know, this flag came with that misprint and I noticed it right away.
