I absolutely love this game. I play it with my roommates all the time, but Kaja's right about the time. We RARELY dip below 3 hours when we play it, especially with the expansions included, but that's great because I love just flying around and doing whatever I feel like, whether or not it contributes to the overall goal. And as I mentioned, it has loads of expansions. Breakin' Atmo adds I think 30 extra cards total, with a few new jobs and items at shops. Pirates & Bounty Hunters is great if you want more player interaction, because it adds not only bounties you can compete for, but Piracy job cards that let you do a little PvP with others, potentially stealing cargo or crew. Blue Sun and Kalidasa are the two biggest expansions. Each of them adds a whole new section to the board with new contacts and shops, plus extra Reaver Cutters and (in Kalidasa), the Operative, who acts like the Alliance Cruiser and a Reaver Cutter, and can fly in any sector. Also, there are a few more expansions that add extra ships, like the Jetwash or the Esmeralda. Highly recommend this game when you've got loads of time to kill and just want to sit and enjoy the atmosphere.
Hi Ladies: This was my second Starlit review and it's sold me on a game I'd never heard of despite my love of the Firefly IP. Even some of the downsides, lack of player interaction and simplicity level, are things that an old designer/player like myself can look forward to having some fun creating mods for. It was a great review that also sold me on Starlit as a review source so I'll be a subscriber from here on in. Thanks.
It looks like gettin' together and playing this would be a mighty fine shindig. I also love that Niska is one of your contacts, and he needs your rep to be solid. That is so perfect.
I totally agree on the game play time. I bought it when I was single because it had a solo option and now my BF and I both love it and our gameplay lasts multiple nights. It takes a lot of space on the table, but we love the atmosphere and sandbox aspect.
Great review! How does solo compare to Mage Knight as far as engagement? Also do you find there to be too little interaction between players ala Lords of Waterdeep?
breaking atmo-booster pack just cards cheap pirates&bounty hunters-gives the game more pvp around bounties.if you need more player interaction you need this.also expands player coutn to 7 i think blue sun- focuses on game AI reavers and their movement now they are way bigger threat in the game.probably last expansion you should own if you understand the game
BlackmaskGamer Does the pirates and bounty hunters expansion add some weird additional game mode for more players or does it really allow you to play the full game with more players. I'm interested in this game but my gaming group usually consists of 5 players so if the expansion adds additional players to the whole game and not just a 5 or 6 player scenario that would be great.
yes you can play with 6 now but the new ships are different have their won cargo hold.so 4 are the same 2 are different.when you buy p&bh there are pvp scenarios in the expansion.we play always firefly with 3-4 people since i have that big of a group.if you have 5 people i would better consider Xia: Legends of a Drift System.its better suited for 5 people.
I miss your content. Your videos and commentary were always helpful. I hope you are both doing well.
Just watched today - May 2021. Miss your reviews! 🙂

Great review girls - was debating on this one but now I will get it for sure - love firefly - now were did I leave my brown coat? :)
It probably solos well because it's as you said it's largely a multiplayer solitaire experience.
I love this game, My friend has it. Whats a similar game to this I could try?
+Pop Culture Stuff Try Xia: Legends of the Drift - www.starlitcitadel.com/games/xia-legends-of-a-drift-system.html
excellent review very informative thank you very much!
:( I miss Standard Action... sigh. Cool looking board game though! My friend just got it but the rule book scared us off lol
It does look intimidating. However, there are single-player scenarios that can be played and that helps learning the rules.
this game has expansions.
What do you think of the expansions?
