I went with Jsaux and have been very happy with it. Even the fit on the top lip without the use of heat. I really like the kickstand and the battery pack holder is great as I fly about once a month. For some reason, the jsaux feels nice and snug and makes the X feel smaller to me. I also have had no issue with attachments or the fingerprint scanner. No doubt, the skull n Co is a good product. It has unique features at a low low price, but it is missing stuff I want like the cover and kickstand. Kickstand is very handy on multiple surfaces other than just flat and straight. Also, you can angle a kickstand to your liking. I’d also prefer a hard case that has room for a battery pack, dock, and cables. The one in video does not. Both can fit different buyers. Jsaux is perfect for my preferences. @128kb, do you have an affiliate link with both companies or just Skull and Co? Or maybe just Jsaux? That would be interesting to share with viewers.
@@Settlers602 I just pulled the thin top of the case up and bent it backwards for a minute or two. It fit right into place after that and has been for 2 days now.
Congrats on the video! I have the Skull & Co. for the 1st Ally and the Jsaux for the X version. Can’t say about the new version from Skull but the first was the best I’ve used. Amazing( and yes I’ve bought a few including from Spigen ). About the Jsaux one for the X I love it,and hate it.. love it because it has a secure fit, everything fits perfectly, very sturdy, grippy, capable of doing a lot of things. I hate it because the alignment messes with my skull & Co. grips.. just that.. and when I align the case to not disrupt the sticks it stays off like the video, but only because I have to ajust!
I was debating as to wether to buy the Jsaux or the Dbrand Killswitch. Went with Jsaux and got lucky that I didn’t have the problem everyone was mentioning. Couldn’t justify buying a 70 dollar protector over a 30 dollar one for a slightly better product.
33$ in US, for Europe it goes up to 44 EUR in Amazon which is a lot more . The JSaux I bought was 30 USD for Europe . Their European distribution seems very costly.
A negative thing that I saw with the Skull&Co is that the screen protector started bubbling when you attached the top lip. It means that it was pushing it off.
I have OG Ally still and the original scull n co case bundle but with a travel cover. Turns out the Chinese generic Jsaux rip off travel cover fit's ALMOST PERFECTLY! It takes a little tug to get the cover over the bottom lip and there's sum side to side play, but over all it's the best of both worlds!
Great video on comparing these two budget friendly options. It helped me with comparing the best available options. I personally went with the Killswitch as I have been very happy with the fit and finish on my SteamDeck, SteamDeck OLED, Ally and now Ally X. Hopefully, you'll do a review on the Killswitch as well. My only disappointed with the Killswitch for the Ally X is that the design was changed slightly from the original Ally to now have a non-removable kickstand. This is annoying for compatibility with some docks. I was interested in these budget options because of the kickstand options, but after seeing the fitment issues, I'm happy I went with the Killswitch despite the price difference.
In defence of the jsaux mine fits really well, all the cutouts line up nicely and the front protector fits really well. I guess I’ve been lucky. Is yours a pre production model?
My fits quite well , but removing it is a real pain. Not that I would be putting it on and off , but still fearing to break your system is not pleasant
Just a question about having Jsaux, were u be able to fit with the cover if u are using a tall stick grips from skull n co which is a double/fps variant?
A little late, but I have both cases and the cover of the ModCase does fit on the Ally X with the Skull and Co case on it. I am waiting for the Killswitch cover to come back in stock, I want to try that one too.

Could the back grips cover work with the modcase? Since you're the only yt guy I know that has the back grips so it'll be great if you could test it out🙏
I am sure I am asking the question that on everyones mind , how are these comparing to the premium dbrand killswitch and is it worth the price difference?
Sadly I can't answer that, I have no desire to spend $75 + any import fees to the UK. Dbrand don't reply to our emails either so... I imagine the Killswitch is the superior product, I'd sure hope so at almost 3x the price but personally I much prefer the slimmed down Skull & Co design.
Can you do a comparison between the Jsaux and the DBrand one. I get we are trying to save money, but you get what you pay for sometimes and want to see if that’s true.
I wish the buttons of Rog Ally also had led illumination. It would look way cooler and also help when playing in the dark (Cuz I'm a PS player, so I'm not that much familiar with Xbox button layout, at least yet).

Skull & Co is what ROG should have come with in the box . The case combo is the best period ….. for the ROG Ally X . And it’s water resistant when in case love it , price , quality , looks 👍🏼🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Not sure what you mean by that, fully aware of the Killswitch. This is a comparison against budget grips. The Killswitch is a premium alternative at 2.5x the price of the JSAUX and 4.4x the price of the Skull&Co. Not everyone has $75+ to drop on a grip, so; comparing 2 affordable options makes much more sense.
@@128KB Sure, it deff costs a bit more $$ I'm just mentioning it cause your vid title says "BEST" when it might want to be "BEST BUDGET" due to the exclusion of the killswitch. Really gotta judge everything on the market regardless of price and just make sure to mention in the vid of the cost diffs
@@imthatguy7394 Since the brands are in the title itself budget is implied, plus the description states "what is the best budget grip?". Within the dedicated JSAUX review I mention the Killswitch as an alternative option. There's also other options out there but, again, this is a comparison against the two listed in the title and my hands on experience with both. I can't give an opinion or recommend any other options when I haven't tested them.
I'm inclined to order the Skull&Co after the shitshow of a case JSAUX made. Took to Reddit and sure enough everyone has issues with the top part of the case not wrapping properly. Even after heating it reverts the next day. Really frustrating especially since they took a whole month to ship it out.
Yeah that's a shame, I didn't realise the heating solution didn't actually solve the problem! I much prefer the skull & co but of course offers less protection/mod capability but for me its the winner.
had this both and dbrand kill switch,i must say yes its overpriced but its so solid and its super light weight compare tbis 2 it makes my ally x heavier its weird
I hate the jsaux one Returned it the next day.. Yuk... Skull and co is what I'm using since dbrand decided to sell a case at a price of a 1TB ssd loool
It'll definitely be much better than the JSAUX but unsure if its 4x better than the Skull & Co at 4x the price. Killswitch definitely offers more protection though!
Not everyone can afford a 75$ case. Also I’m not a fan of the design on the Killswitch or the kick stand. The jsaux for me is my fav. My purple skull n co case is extremely loose and wiggles a lot when I play and it’s very distracting.
I had the Skull N Co grip on my original Ally before picking up the Kill Switch. For my Ally X, I went straight to the Kill Switch. The Skull was a good grip but the Kill Switch is just superior in every way. JSaux just makes bad products.

My Jsaux case fit perfectly after a day of having the cover on.

Dbrand killswitch is on another level through. Expensive but honestly nothing compares in terms of quality and comfort.
I just can't get the jsaux top lip to sit properly. Drives me bonkers. I'll be buying the purple skull and co one.

I guess that depends on what screen protector you're using. I'm using a JSAUX one and had no issue yet after a week+ with the Skull & Co installed.
Im glad you warned me about the other 1 wrecking the triggers. Cheers

Does the skull and co case mess up using a docking station because of the added thickness?
