Does it really matter??
If it ends up in the junkpile, it doesn't make a damn bit of difference. Junk is junk to the folks who got rid of it. It doesn't matter if it's 500 years old, or newer "take off" crap. You are recycling n repurposing the crap nobody wanted. So you have a knack for restoring old crap. Do you also reuse the 100 year old spark plugs n wires or use "new" ones for your Frankenstein creations. Case in point. Do you use old gasoline or fresh new gasoline??
Point is, you cannot restore or rebuild old crap without using some new Products of some kind to complete the builds. Do you use 50 year old welding rods or newer fresher materials??? I've done what you've done n have worked on n built many Harley engines, from Knucks, Pan heads, shovelheads n evos, n some twin cams. I have old n newer crap in my junkpile n I find creative ways to use it all.
Like old chevy camshafts cut n made into footpegs, same for sprockets, cut in half n made into footboards. I've done this rodeo before. I'm retired n really don't give a shit about being on social media. You are not the only man who has done this kind of work...
Run and last
do it build a junk bike that runs good and raffle it
Rebuild a magneto! Better yet, drive 100 miles north and buy some of my projects!! I need room. Show what Porsche parts you're hoarding....

build anther race bike
🤘
I really couldn't care less. If you use junk parts to build a motor, you end up with a junk worthless motor. You say you don't care, I couldn't agree more, because I don't care either.
you just don't get it. its all about how to build things so that they will work even when you have nothing to work with.
