I watched the trial and heard her testimony. She's trained law enforcement and can't even tell the difference between her apartment and someone else's? Not buying it, she should have known better. But ok, so you claim it's a simple mistake, she still shot and killed an unarmed person who was zero threat to her, she could have easily walked backwards out of the apartment. Instead she squeezed the trigger after clearly not seeing any weapon. She is a menace and a danger, she does not deserve any compassion. This wasn't a whoopsie, this was murder.

Why is this the first time I've heard any judge say some of the things she said to the jury? In particular:
1.) That after the verdict some of the lawyers may want to ask the jurors questions regarding things the lawyers could possibly do a better job of in future cases - but that the jurors are not obliged to answer if they choose not to. &
2.) That the court will provide counseling for the jurors if they are unable to resolve the multitude of feelings one can experience during cases involving violence/rape/murder or accidental (manslaughter type) deaths.
Maybe these statements are not filmed, or are edited out of the court videos we see...
Camera operators: If that's the case, please film until the end & do not edit the judges final comments. People need to know these things.
People should speak more about the possibility of residual emotional trauma after jury duty. We as viewers of court videos know that we are affected emotionally & we aren't even exposed to the worst physical & photographic evidence that jurors are required to see.

These people who are so desperate about the "accident" would change their minds if this murderer entered their apartment in cold blood, completely senselessly, killed them, their child, their parent, etc. It should be a trained person, many people work dozens of hours, sometimes 7 days a week, and somehow such "cases" do not occur. She was pissed at some guy, she entered not her apartment and the man sitting calmly on the couch, not her! with a bowl of ice cream, she killed without batting an eyelid. She didn't wait for backup, the boy wasn't threatening her, she had no reason to shoot, and if she did, why not, for example, in the foot. I greatly admire the victim's brother and I know that she personally approached the death of my twin brother in the same way, I have no anger, revenge or other feelings in my heart, simply because nothing and no one will return it to me, I love people and everyone should be forgiven. The problem is that because he showed such an attitude, people only talk about his generosity, which is good, but they forget that a man died at the hands of a person whose duty was to save lives. A man was sitting at home, enjoying the evening, peacefully, not hurting anyone.
Some time ago I saw a different situation. The couple committed a bank robbery with a gun. The girl explained that she was forced by her boyfriend to participate. There is no way to check whether she was telling the truth because the boy committed suicide. After the robbery (without killing anyone), they returned to their own apartment, which means that despite the armed attack, no one was hurt. Of course, there was a chase after them, they decided to leave the apartment and run away. Unfortunately, the policewoman, who clearly didn't care about any training or safety rules, waiting for support, etc., wanted to play the heroine on her own and overpower the escaping people. She was shot and consequently died. The boy, the killer, committed suicide after many hours of negotiations. What the victim's sister and the society did is unbelievable. Just a desire for revenge and, I don't know, a moment of fame? I was annoyed by the text that this girl was responsible for the death (she may be partially responsible for it), but not in the classification that it was in the course of a robbery. In addition, these words that she knew what she was deciding on - hello, she didn't kill anyone herself, you know, if you feel trapped, you will run away or defend yourself - animal instincts. However, the killed policewoman actually took stupid risks, did not follow the appropriate rules, did not maintain safety, for which she paid a terrible penalty. She's not even a hero because she made such huge mistakes. Nevertheless, there is great sadness and sympathy that they lost the most important thing - live
It is terrifying, it concerns policemen, but it is not about any one professional group, incompetence, lack of knowledge, lack of ambition in any profession, approaching one's duties completely stupidly, sometimes even negligently, can cause a catastrophe, misfortune. Every profession, every job without exception

What was served here is unconditional love by Botham's brother. Some people never experience it...
He did & said exactly what his brother would have done.
Some do change their ways while in prison, unfortunately that isn't usually what happens. If prison isn't rehabilitation (& for the most part -it isn't) the length of time can't change that. Recidivism rates prove that. Hatred & vengeance certainly don't cause or inspire positive changes in anyone.

He seems much closer to God than you. Just and FYI "God" is spelled with a capital "G" out of respect for Him (just like the "H" in "Him" is capital when referring to God).
