  • #SomeoneTheyKnew | David Coffin’s house burned down with him in it, but it wasn’t the fire that killed him. It was the bullet in his head. Investigators immediately focused on Scott Davis, the estranged husband of Coffin’s new girlfriend. But Davis said that someone had tried to burn down his house that same night.
Was Davis spinning tales, or was someone out to get them both?

💯 three years ago I was still struggling with an addiction. Right now I’m sitting in Tahiti because I have such an amazing job. Never give up because you don’t know what God has for you right around the corner. I have an amazing job! But the real miracle is that I have an amazing husband and relationship. God truly was able to see my future when I wasn’t able to, and I was so ready to give up and end my life. Don’t give up!

Yep, smart jury saw the bigger picture of guilt. Thank God for jurors with common sense, who were able to join the dots. There are far too many of the other kind, dumb jurors who practically demand a video of the murder taking place, before they will convict the accused!

Ridiculous. Why would the father destroy evidence that could prove his son innocent? It's laughable. Crime scene fingerprints that aren't Scott's. Who's are they? It's only the thoughts of a moron that would believe that Scott's father would destroy or have some influence to have evidence disappear. I've never understood how any rational knowing person with everything something like this. All the evidence that was destroyed was avenues that had already been checked and didn't point to scott. The question you should be asking is why did the police and the gbi not run the crime scene fingerprints through their fingerprint databases? Why did they destroy them 9 years after the crime right before they indicted Scott?

Sometimes I wonder how any real justice is done. Cases languish indefinitely, plea deals often pervert the truth and criminals tend to have more rights than victims. Interlaced with corruption, unmerited appointments and "contributions" , from the highest court down to law enforcement. Obviously, this doesn't mean all individuals involved are anything less than the finest examples of the positions they hold. There needs to be a better way...I wish I knew what that was.

As a real fan of True Crime stories, I'm really addicted to "Court TV"...It hasn't been long subscribing this channel. I like how they finish the whole crime story in 42:50 secs. The beginning, the crime, the how & why and than the trial, the drama and than sentencing...really love this channel. Sometimes it's hard to watch the 'not guilty' verdict due to lack of evidence. But some cases, though it takes years and decades solving the case, it's so good to see and hear him/her guilty verdict by the Jury and the Judge and thanks to the determination & dedication of the detectives involves in the crime. Without determination and dedication of one or two detectives some case may never get solved. Sometimes it's sad to see some detectives giving up too soon and let the crime remain unsolved for years and decades.
I have seen one crime involving murder of a 9/10 yrs old girl, even after retired, one detective never gave up on her, he knew who the murderer was and all he need was one mistake and finally he solved the case after a decade because he made that mistake. During the crime he was 23/24yrs old and when he was caught he was 80+ yrs old. Among 5 Detectives there is always 1 detective who never gives up. This kind of case really inspires me, it is a fact "Crime Never Pays", there is more trouble than benefit from committing a crime. No matter how long it takes, one day the hands of the law is gonna gets you. it's gonna hit you back very hard, God doesn't allow a human taking another human lives, it's a greatest sin in the eyes of God...."The phrase "as you sow, so shall you reap" (Galatians 6:7), you may be long gone (Dead) but it's gonna reap by your family one way or another. It's gonna stay/stuck in your family until justice is done by the someone above, who knows to reveal at the exact moment and time.

He must have received a donation from the millionaire father or at the very least, was told by the father of the victim that he would use his money and or influence to get him fired. Basically, if there was no millionaire father, case wouldn’t have been reopened. If it was you or me, killer would have never been convicted

WHY did the DA's office say there was enough for an arrest warrant and then decide there wasn't enough to pursue the investigation and go to trial?????
IMO, the Fulton County DA, Paul Howard, made that call due to outside pressure and not the facts.
I want Paul Howard to answer why his office decided to pursue the case the second time around when they had even LESS evidence than the first time around.
It seems totally random how some cases are pursued more persistently than others 😒.
All of a sudden because Scott appears on the radar again, someone from the DA's office decides to assemble a team and take another crack at this case against the same suspect even though they have LESS evidence?????
They should have pursued this case more aggressively the first time around.
I'm glad David and the Coffin family finally got justice.

If my memory is right, there is a similar case like this between 2 brothers. One brother killed his brother, his wife and children and burned down the house and in the same way he also burned down his own house without any casualty, to show the Detectives or Police that him and his brother have some kind of same enemies who wants to hurt them. The distance between his and brother house was a few miles away. He almost got away...like they say "Crime Never Pays", his wife spilled the beans and got caught.

@@thetruthisthelight0910 agree completely, not on the antiquated adultery aspect but people neeeeeeed to clean up one mess before starting another. Pathetic that so many people, men and women, can’t seem to be on their own for three minutes. They neeeeeed someone in their life.
I’d love to see this chick (and all in similar situations of which there are plenty) prosecuted for her role in this bc BUT NOT FOR HER and her selfish, immature actions, the victim would still be alive.

That’s why it’s not a good idea to be involved with someone who’s still legally married, even if they’re going through a divorce. If it’s meant to be, God will bring you back to them after the divorce is done and that situation has settled. It’s unfortunate and extremely sad that he lost his life.

I worked in the prison he was at, one of them. He lived in the dorm I worked a lot. I remember his dad very well because he always wore a tan Burberry coat he was Super nice and his wife. Scott very laid back, thought he was the smartest in the room. He was very polite and respectful. I guess it’s easy to be that way once you’re r convicted of killing somone you dislike. It’s crazy to know the inmate version of him vs the free man. The inmates called him the governor.
