hi damon, thx for the video. The propshafts are in general underestimated for the important part they are in the vehicle and the work they do. and to get it worse the service manual doesnt explain particulary how to serve them and the service intervals are far to big.
if you really want to serve them, i highly recommend
    - mark the position of the slideshaft on both end clearly, so if you assemble them later there will be no doubt how they fit together
    - clean the splines carefully. the mud with the grease you press through the nippel actualy is the best abrasive you can imagine which will sand oft the splines
    - when assembled just press 4 or 5 hubs (depending on your grease gun)in the slideshaft. dont overfill it.
    - u-joints: press grease in it, until clean grease comes out on all 4 ball-joints. if one is stucked that means the old grease is so old, sticky that the new grease wont pass. you have to use heat to make it smooth again. if you wont do it, precisely there will the u-join worn out.
    - clean the aerea of the securing rings of the balljoints and move them a little bit with a puncher. that make it far more easier to change the u-joint in the future.
its not a bad idea to grease the propshaft as often as possible, at least once per month, depending on your mileage or terrain more often wont hurt, especialy when water crossing or rainy season
always use the rubber hose to protect the slideshaft
disarm and clean the propshaft properly once a year and give it fresh grease. it will last forever.
    grease is cheap ....

gatvol: if you buy an used car i would highly recommend to disarm the propshaft completely, clean it carefully, like i described above.
than check it if it has any play in the splines or in the u-joints and change them if necesary.
otherwise you risk to damage the differential and the gearbox, because the vibration of the propshaft is not only bad a sound, it will pass to both ends.
the problem is the tolerance if the slideshaft has movements. if there is any play i would change it. you will be on the save side.
