As a Fallout Creator I am extremely worried about what they plan to establish for the canon events of New Vegas in the next season of the show. I liked the first season mostly, but it suffers from Bethesdas shallow and often destructive story telling. What makes New Vegas so good and memorable is the open ended nature of its narrative. Closing it with canon events, especially the canon events that Bethesda would likely seek to establish, will tarnish the entire narrative of the game. If they wanted to do right by us fans, they would leave it alone entirely.
well reassure your worries because this franchise was ruined because of greed and not able to manage this magnum opus of a franchise

On the topic though I couldn't agree more with you, I'm exited for fallout 5 even but again like you said they just cant weave the same story obsidian did..
They already did kid finds parent, then parent finds kid so I'm curious what their next move is..
The canonical truth is that Candy, the coolest and smartest dress-wearing and katana-wielding asian woman of the Mojave, killed Mr House, seized control of the strip thanks to Yes-man, and decided to kickstart a new space age by building rockets with some help from her new friends at the Think Tank. Long story short : that which is canon is that which happenned when you played the game and have made your own decisions, because that's the beauty of role playing games - you are free to take your own path, and to write your own story.

Canon should be whatever was to happen without couriers involvement. Thus, legion victory is canon, like it or not. Thats the only way

@@beastofcornwood courier is central for Mr houses plans. Without him Benny keeps the chip. So no upgrades. Legion is pretty set to win the battle. Curtis blows up monorail regardless, omertas attack strip no matter what, ncr in general is in poor shape and their whole playthrough is basically saving them in their entirety from getting proper food to supplies etc. Nipton is burned down, searchlight is destroyed, and fresh recruits are completely useless like in camp golf. So yeah. Legion wins easily I think

@@Ghostface6 He genuinely is an altruist towards people. If you think House is a Hitler like madman then you are just wrong, yes he does want power but he also wants humanity to advance, he doesn't want it destroyed or some minority to be wiped out just because they speak a different language.

It was a good tv show. But I love f01,f02 and NV. So I try to imagine this being another fallout timeline

And I have an argument which retcons F1/2/NV at the same time. Lucy somehow exists and her entire vault isn't infested with super mutants. Ain't like her vault in such close proximity to the Masters HQ that he *would* get in there like in literally any other vault in F1? Also there are no super mutants in the show, so there are two ways this can go. Master is an absolute idiot in the show (I mean like in its canon), or he just doesn't exist and the entirety of Fallout before 3 stops existing. Here it is about NCR, I'll just forget about the nuking of Shady Sands (Which was stupid but I digress) for this moment and give a logical counterargument. Why on Earth the west coast is so "Barbaric"? In New Vegas there are literal dialogues which say that the existence of raiders is pretty much close to zero and the area is filled with villages, ranches etc., patrolling soldiers, like dude? Where are the 700k NCR citizens? Why is the NCR suddenly a cult? How did the NCR lose against the BoS when they clapped them at each turn? Like fuck the discourse of OG Fallout fans vs Bethesda fans, the show itself even contradicts the Bethesda canon with their ghoul representation and the BoS being a religious order suddenly also canonising like three endings in F4.

I'm myself lucky and unlucky, too young to have played fo1 or 2 but I very much understand the lore with them and there story and whatnot, so I'm lucky in that I dont have that Nostalgia factor with it looking back but, I can definitely relate to anyone who does because New Vegas is that Nostalgia for me,

@@beastofcornwood Prydwyn exists in the show, it can get obliterated in F4 and only in couple of endings it survives. Well I also don't understand people who call out ppl which supposedly are on a nostalgia train and can't accept anything else than New Vegas. My first ever Fallout game was 4 and I hated it, Fallout 3 was mid imo and I left the franchise rotting in my steam library until I played New Vegas when I was and still am 18 (Got like 200 hours in it already). The game is an absolute banger and shows what a true RPG actually is and doesn't have that part just for marketing. Then I got into 1/2 so I can't really say I'm on the nostalgia train lmao

@@beastofcornwood for F2 I totally recommend the content restoration project or whatever it is called. Basically fixes up the game and also makes the resolution actually work with modernday monitors. Oh, right and massive tip, always take 10 agility, ALWAYS.

The things that happen in the show happen in the show. The things that happen in the game happen in the game.
I found i the nukes remains of Indiana Jones in a refrigerator on my first playthrough.
How's that for canon?
You only see the indiana jones reference if you have wild wasteland (and it’s just a little reference lmao) And of course there is a canon, without canon, it’s impossible to build a cohesive story. For example, in fallout 1, you can either defeat the master or join him, but it’s impossible for the master to have won because fallout 2 happens, same thing with the show and the games, they can’t coexist without causing retcons
