- For the first time since the 2021 model year, the Honda Ridgeline has seen noteworthy changes. While the changes are part of a refresh and not a full redesign, these changes are significant improvements. The Sport trim level is the base model but that does not mean it does not have many features you may not expect to see on the entry trim model. Is it the best mid-size truck? Find out in today’s Vehicle Visionary video!

If it wasn’t for Honda offering the Ridgeline I would have just stayed with my F150’s, I’ve looked at Mid-size trucks for the last 25 years and haven’t found one I could live with due to multiple factors, main reason is ride quality and utility and Ridgeline checks all the boxes for myself!
Best truck out there . Unless you are in construction or landscaping business.
I’ll take cloth over leather any day for comfort & wear.
Solid informative video. The Ridgeline is on my short list. Hope to buy by the end of 2024. Hoping for better deals and better financing for the end of 2024.
Best truck out there . Unless you are in construction or landscaping business. It’s the intelligent person’s truck .
Yes of course Tom & I buy this truck one day.
More pickups are being designed like the Ridgeline because there's more demand for passenger trucks with ride quality rather than worker trucks with capabilities that are barely used.
You're right. The unibody design is booming. The Maverick, Santa Cruz, Rivian, the Silverado EV, Hummer, even Toyota is coming out with one. Ridgeline had it right the whole time.
100%. I’ve bought all the off-road big trucks and Jeeps. I could never wheel a 50k + vehicle. Plus I don’t have the time . I have a tundra pro and lately it’s been a pain to climb into with my hip and knee. Been thinking about trading but was hoping for a redesign.
Amazing video Tom.
Many thanks!
The cup holders in the rear doors should be lower for more knee room.
I just bought a 2024 RTL And would like to change clock face. Have a .jpg file on a stick but how to load..??
Does the 2024 Ridgeline Sport have a GPS Navigation System?
I love the faceless videos ❤you are unique. Big up
No more turbos and l had a 2005 CRV that it went 300,000 km in less than 5 years. The all wheel drive work very well on snowed roads and highways . When l no longer have a 6,000 trailer , I will go back to Honda because they don’t have all the stupid running complex messages telling you it’s not happy with the way you are driving!
How bout the ground clearance?
Basically the same as an suv because that's what the ridgeline is. An suv with a bed
@@Ccd-c6dWhat SUV?
@ChesterSm-ge1hb well, most suvs have a ground clearance of more than 7.6 inches so I guess the ridgeline is more like a car.
@@Ccd-c6d Ooops, it is a mid-sized pickup that rides, handles & maneuvers like a fine tuned “car.” - Automobile - I do not refer to it or call it a truck. Most every, all trucks that I’ve driven have a GVW label on both the port and starboard side in addition to a minimum 2-speed axle. My wife drives a Honda Pilot, the registration certificate READS “Truck.” I’ve owned 2 F-150’s, 1 Chevrolet 1500, and 1 GMC Sierra, I didn’t call anyone of them a “truck,” I referred to them as a pickup, a full-sized “pickup.”
@@Ccd-c6d My wife drives a Honda Pilot. The certificate of ownership, registration calls it a truck. I now drive a Honda Ridgeline, I would never put 1500 pounds of stones in the Pilot. I wouldn’t tow my loaded two horse trailer with the Pilot although it is called a “truck.”
My grand cherokkee gets around 9 mpg
Im thinking about buying between Tacoma Limited and Ridgeline black edition, any suggestions i should or shouldn't buy one of them?
But the ridgeline for power looks and mainly reliability and resale value period!
I like the look of Tacoma but prefer the ride quality and interior room , engine and transmission of ridgeline . Best truck out there . Unless you are in construction or landscaping business. It’s the intelligent person’s truck .
Tacoma is dated and played out. Pickups like the Ridgeline would be a better investment. Ridgeline is a better passenger truck. The Tacoma is for newbies and gardeners.
I'm hearing a lot of problems with the 2024 Tacoma specially with their transmissions. Try to do some research before you decide. Good luck on your buy! :)
@@Goldenboy-nx7nw The transmissions in these V6 Hondas are very hit and miss, if you buy used avoid the 6-speeds; the 9-speeds are more reliable, but intermittent performance. In either case, you must service the transmission every 30k mi, drain-flush-fill, about $900.00.
We traded our RL on a used Tundra, we thought about the Tacoma but many of the used Tacomas are just as high as the Tundras. We just opted for a full-size. It's worked out pretty well.
Honda has dropped the ball so many times on these 2nd gen. RLs that I can't imagine the market-share being terribly significant.
We had a 2019, and it was always being recalled for one thing or another... got rid of it after the transmission failed at 48k miles. Such a shame, it was incredibly comfortable.
Toyota has had more recalls overall. Hondas recalls are so minor.
i set my eye locked on to ridgeline
390000 plus tax ya still can afford it
So I believe that engine has a timing belt that has to be changed at 100,000 miles. $1500 to $2,000 job. 🤷♂️
This is true. So overall ownership cost will be a bit higher but I can probably live with that to get comfort and function
Your getting a new water pump included with the timing belt service. So your not paying for the labor to replace that individually.
manual foot break has to go
If they had fully redesigned the Ridgeline it would have Electronic Parking Brake like 4th Generation Pilot 2023-2025.
I’d say the Nissan Frontier is better. This is basically a Pilot with a truck bed!
I recently purchased a Ridgeline RTL. I also test rode the Tacoma, Frontier, Ranger, and Colorado. The Ridgeline was a better truck and value in every aspect except maybe if you wanna do some off-roading. FYI.. the Ridgeline has significantly more payload than the Frontier.
Nah. Ridgeline has better mpg, more interior space, payloads, 0-60, storage, bigger bed, better reliability, better value and more practical, so nope. Honda is a better truck and triggered all those so called "tough truck guys" showing their Insecurity about their man cards 😂
@randomstuffwithjoe but it doesn't change the fact it only tows as much as an suv, well, because that's what it is, an suv
…..and?
@@davesxd45 exactly what he said. It's not a truck. People need to stop pretending it is.
It's not a truck
It’s the intelligent person’s truck .
You're one of the few still in denial.
Before you come back and list out truck features, I've seen so many back-n-forth debates on this, you're not going to win. It's a truck--get over it and move on.
@@trl1980 Seriously tho. The Ridgeline gets overlooked when it's the ride most truck buyers need.
Yes it's just a civic with a bed. Definitely not a truck as it can't do anything a truck can.
