I'm happy that yan was here to take them on
Jan had some fight in him today, the way he was going after Craig and Shaka. 😂
Jan was NOT having it today 😭😭
One of the most entertaining episodes of ET, so good!
Jan is spot on.
Shaka needs a holiday 😂
Jan told Hislop in a very direct way exactly what most Arsenal fans are thinking: “You’re talking a load of bollocks! Lay off Raya”. Well, something along those lines anyway. Same applies to Burley.
I do feel Arteta has backed himself into corner, he started saying players will be played based on form, no matter the position but Ramsdale did little wrong and Rays is not performing especially with his passing but he is still starting every match
Jan had me cracking tf up this show, shake tell me was too much lol
i think jan wants shaka to tell him something
That’s me, the fan 😂 Was in Oslo for 36 hours so the last thing I thought would happen was run into a guy I watch on TH-cam every week back in Canada
They are literally answering a submitted question. It's not like they request to talk about Raya thus much.
They don’t have to ask that question Everytime, hundreds of questions were asked but they always seem to pick the ones related to Raya so that they can continue bashing him
They choose which comments to read and they provoke these comments by constantly talking about it
Jan morphed into stevie while talking to Craig.(don't be stupid) 5:32
No Arteta will not change his mind about David Raya....He scouted and bought him for a REASON.
And the reason is to make us nervous. He is the Mustafi of goalkeepers.
@@kwameboadukissi426More like Senderos of Goalkeepers
These people are such muppets. Raya was statistically a better goalkeeper than Ramsdale last season. He has been statistically a better goalkeeper than Ramsdale this season. He is the first choice keeper. It’s manufactured controversy.
@@samig9032 he has no presence and his goalkeeping abilities are suspect. He is supposed to be better in ball distribution but so far, I haven't seen that. The whole of last season, I never for once felt nervous when our keeper had the ball or the opposition team had the ball in our defensive area (facing Ramsdale) . Now, I feel so nervous when Raya has the ball or when the opposition team has the ball in our defensive area (facing the goalkeeper). It is the Mustafi, David Luiz and Socratis era all over again.
@@kwameboadukissi426 Typical football fan, all emotion, no common sense. Calling it the Mustafi, David Luiz and Socratis era after 6 or so games when he has been the superior goalkeeper for years. I don't remember anyone crapping their pants when Leno who had been Arsenal's best player the season before got swapped for a relegation keeper
I love Jan 😂
Kudos to Jan for catching Shaka there and he could not answer that simple question. Why should there not be competition for GKs? I think ESPN FC and Shaka think they can pressurize Arteta into doing something they think is right and make a story out of this. Simple answer is he is not going to be pressured into taking a decision. People forget that Raya is on loan. If he does not perform Arsenal have the option of ending the loan.
Chelsea played a blinder in selling Mount & Havertz for top money.
They got almost the same money for Havertz as they paid for me, despite him more or less flopping for 3 yrs at Chelsea.
We should've used his fee towards a striker who strikes regularly.
I respect Jan's Question I wish Shaka would answer it.
let him tell him
Jan is right with his question and Shaka is also correct but is not explaining it well, The reason GK's feeling like they're one mistake away from being replaced is different for them than outfield players because their mistakes are a lot more costly. When a GK makes a mistake they get Bashed, way worst than Outfield players. Thats why they need A LOT more confidence from their Manager. But Jan's question is a good one.
True. GKs are the opposite of a striker. A striker can have a poor 89 minutes, net the winner and walk away with a “good performance”. GKs can have a flawless 89 minutes, make a single mistake and have an awful performance.
On top of that, GK is a reactive position, where you don’t get a chance to compensate for your mistakes. Your job is to not make an error vs. make a positive play.
Dan's started off with his usual roasting of these guys, loved them 😆👌🏼
We all know ESPN has an agenda against Raya. At least Thomas trying to be neutral
Awesome Extra time!
Tell me Shaka
Raya is incredible talent, Arteta is super couch. Good combination. I love this Arsenal
Raya is an incredible talent? Have you been watching different games than everyone else?
@@robertmorici8605Did you not watch him for Brentford?
Shaka and ESPN have become a joke now with this obsession with Arteta and the goalkeeper situation. I am nauseous at this point. Just SHUT UP!
Great show
Because only one Goalkeeper can play at a time two forward can be on the field the same time
Shout out to Jan😂😂😂😂
Shaka sounds very idiotic saying Arteta should say who's his no.1 when he's made it clear Raya is the no.1 by his actions,he doesn't need to come out n say it in public
Silly
No he didn't. Arteta doesn't know who his #1 is just by him saying that he might substitute keepers in the middle of a game. So Shaka isn't wrong. Which other elite coach are you seeing doing that?
Who are you?
@@CBear2682 that doesn't make sense,it doesn't matter what Arteta says in public,he's just protecting his players...he's made it clear that Raya is his no.1 by team selection
@@risizirevlon4338 ok Arteta assistant coach. Not because it doesn't make sense to you means it's not real or possible.
In theory, I could understand if some teams actually had two number 1s. For instance, Man United could've utilised it better had they kept De Gea and bought Onana as their profiles are very different. So tactically, it can make sense if the profiles of the keeper are very different. Though overall, Shaka is right. A goalkeepers performance is generally determined by how many mistakes they make. This just heaps more pressure on Raya to be flawles, which is impossible to be all the time.
Yan is on one today 🤣
Raya BETTER than Bumsdale.. He's only Important becuz he's got English name
You need to get help! You’re gonna have a breakdown
They both are average EMi martinez was better than all and leno is a better shot stopper than both
Leno isn't even the backup for Germany Bro @@rashidkhalid3970
Remember he’s the reason why they in the champions league, never throw away old for new let’s see is Reya can do any better
@@rashidkhalid3970emi doesn’t play for arsenal though when’s arteta gonna pick him
ESPN FC-I am someone who genuinely likes your show. But you guys are obsessed with Raya. It’s well past the point of being ridiculous. Arteta made his decision and you all need to accept that. Ramsdale is staying on the bench. Please start covering other topics, from which there are many to choose, instead of constantly talking about Raya.
Did you see him nearly punch the ball in to his own goal earlier?
@GIBBO4182
And have you watched keepers like Ederson, Allison, Onana, Sanchez, and many others this year make mistakes, and nearly get caught making mistakes, week in and week out this year? The reality is Ramsdale was dropped because he was making clanger after clanger. And these guys are obsessed with Raya, whether they admit it or not, because of their British bias. They don’t like seeing another English player getting replaced by a foreign player on a top team.
@@Photosoflifethe question was, did you see him nearly punch the ball into his own goal earlier?
@GIBBO4182
Yes, and? Onana had a relatively simple save today that he nearly put into his own net. You don’t see any talk about that today. The reality is the panel put a major spotlight on Arteta and Raya and they want to be proven right. They have always had a very difficult time letting go of their agendas once they decide who they are going in on.
Hey would you like to set the agenda? If you don't like it don't tune in
What Jan is missing are the stakes at play. A mistake by a keeper lacking confidence is hugely more costly than a mistake by a striker lacking confidence. You don't lose games by missing goals, you lose games by conceding them. Of course you want to score, but strikers are forgiven for failing to score. Keepers are not afforded the same forgiveness because their mistakes can lose games (rather than fail to win them). The pressure not to make mistakes amplifies the closer you play to your own goal. Thus, keepers have the most pressure of all because their actions carry the greatest jeopardy. To remain effective with such pressure requires confidence and support.
Confidence is made important by people who can't take a hit.
@@stnbch3025 sorry, but this is a silly comment. To get to the level they've achieved, any professional keeper can "take a hit." You're an armchair critic giving counsel to actual pros. The goalkeeping position is a unique one on the pitch. Let alone the obvious like the allowance to use their hands in thee box, no other position fields only one player (strikers are part of a forward line, same with midfielders and defenders). There is nowhere to hide, mistakes are singularly their own and costlier than any other more insulated position. This is important for a coach to recognize. Any manager worth their salt will tell you that being a good coach requires as much social intelligence as it does tactical nous. You have to know how to effectively motivate your players and elevate their confidence to get the best out of them on the pitch. That is why we so often hear of managers "losing the locker room" when a team stops performing well. They have lost the ability to motivate their players and instill within them the necessary confidence and buy-in to execute on the pitch. Arteta should know better, in my opinion, and his entire handling of this situation has done nothing to instill confidence in either keeper. Instead, he has only transmuted an area of strength to one of confusion and anxiety born from a lack of trust and the perception of constant judgment.
Seems Jans had a few…
keep the laughs coming ET!
Yo this is hilarious. Hotel room hysteria and Shaka confusion and Craig befuddled LOL
You can't compare GK to other positions. Basically, if you make a mistake as a GK, it's in your net and you can only play one GK at time. You need to show trust in a keeper so they have the confidence that they will be able to keep playing, even if they make a mistake.
Ah, yes. That fabulous actor Tom Hawk. We affectionately refer to him as 'Tomahawk' in our house 😂
💀
The reason why having 2 goalies and 2 strikers competing are different is because goalies dont often get rotated or dropped unless theres an injury. Goalies tend to play longer than outfielder because of that. This is why rotation and competition for outfield players is expected unlike for goalies.
Jan the 🐐 of espn fc
No sound
Yan/Jan going after Shaka is always so funny
Please release the video of Stevie acting like he's working at the airport Dan. The World needs our loveable Stevie in these times to put a smile on faces.
The way the goalkeeping situation at Arsenal has developed confirms the truthfulness of the saying: “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.”
so dam right, we could have brought a striker or a CM
@@BMW_Z4idiot Ramsdale was broken, he made quite a few notable mistakes last season plus that forest goal.
‘Don’t be stupid’ that got me. Craig doesn’t know when to shut up and make sense. He just talks rubbish to get noticed.
Nah,normalize goal keepers facing competition...they either perform or get benched..
Chelsea should go for ramsdale
Ramsdale is England's number three and ESPN 'bandits' have not questioned Southgate
english keeper are mediocre...number 1 pickford lmao.
Agents are making this happen in my opinion.
This is beyond stubbornness.
Beyond Klopp /TAA right back issues
Raya being chosen above Ramsdale blows my mind. I'll be shocked if Arsenal makes any real progress this season given these suspect decisions by Arteta. I foresee some disappointment stemming from locker room problems and Arteta's questionable roster decisions.
As an arsenal fan that has watched both, Raya is better than ramsdale, the media, non arsenal fans and even bias arsenal fans to ramsdale seem to forget ramsdale was making mistakes like this last season when we were in the middle of the title race and no one batted an eyelid but now that Raya does it everyone is crying out for ramsdale to return, make it make sense ?
@@MM-sc9vg media dont like coz english keeper benched......they also wanted dean henderson to start instead of de gea past few season.
What a good question by Jan. Why must Arteta choose a number 1 and baby them blah blah blah? Stupid thinking by Shaka and Craig, that’s why these guys are not coach’s.
Ramsdale earned the number 1 spot, Raya didn't. Raya has only made mistakes. Ramsdale not being given a chance is ridiculous. It's favoritism not based on performance.
you know why everyone keeps talking about arsenal keeper problem....coz the one bench is an english keeper......remember man utd time, everyone wants to drop de gea n put dean henderson as starter....now dean cant even get a game at crystal palace.
Shaka himself couldn’t handle competition, not sure he’s the right person to debate this topic
Striker make mistakes vs goal keeper make mistakes, one will get away with it, the other will get the blame for letting in goals....thats the different
Generally, yes, but it depends on the situation, to some extent. For example, Bayern lost to PSG in 2021 because they didn't take their chances in the first leg. It wasn't something Neuer did.
Raya will only lose his spot if he stop doing what he is told. Main reason why Ramsdale got dropped
Raya is just a spanish Kasper Schmeichel with footwork.
kasper schmeichel is 50 times better than raya
People just make a goalkeepers position a one man position but its not different from any positions in the pitch.
😂 Few months ago Ramsdale, Ramsdale now Raya, Raya these guys can kill someones career
Same questions every day
Well If Shakas argument is a goal keeper should not be worried to make mistakes by knowing another keeper is ready waitig but Arteta still show his faith on Raya even though he made so many mistakes so Shakas argument is invalid in my opinion.
very funny
Lively Jan today
Win lose or draw, ESPN Raya agenda confirmed. 🙄
He nearly punch the ball in his own net 💀
They won't praise Onanas save
11:11
If onana hasn’t been changed at United after all the points he’s lost why would Rayaget changed for losing none?
David Raya is part of the Arteta process hay you guys Please trust the process...
What was Jan's point? He made a point and then argued against the very things he just argued for, and then didn't actually listen to what Shaka said. That was a stupid, circular discussion to start things off, no idea what Jan's point was.
Shakkas head must still be hurting him. Has he ever managed a team?
Raya has been shaky, so Arteta was lying, when he said he wants to change GK`s during the game and there is no number 1. I hope Ramsdale tells them to sell him. Dude played them to the CL and can`t even get a start there now.
Raya is only a starter because he is from Spain like Arteta
You think Arteta is as foolish as you? He sold two underperforming Spanish players in Bellerin and Pablo Mari. Your agenda has failed!!!!
ramsdale cost arsenal the league last season....raya was excellent for avg brentford.
TELL ME SHAKA TELL ME
Raya is on the team.because of the GK coach lol
Jan doesn't get the difference in impact of one goalie mistake versus one forward mistake. Clueless.
SHAKA TELLL MEE
These idiots are not understanding Jan... 😂 Outfield players face competition, why not keepers? And Shaka kind of being rude about it... no respect
they know jan was so right....they just bitter and dont want accept that.
Arteta on his mind he is best manager in the world like pep , carlo , zidane and mourinho type but his trophy cabinet is poor den poch
Remember that Spurs made it to the champions league final without Kane. Then Kane came in and ruined everything in the final lol
Calm down Jan, don't turn it into a shouting match, it gets annoying.
Goalkeepers insecure.
I never understood why Manchester United signed Mason Mount in the summer as once again they overpaid for a player who was coming off the back of a very disastrous season and he had a year left on his contract. In the last 12 months, he's done absolutely nothing not just with Chelsea, but hasn't got going at all for Manchester United and he did spend a month out injured, when he's been healthy, you don't see what he brings to the team, we don't even know what his best position is he is an 8 a double pivot or in the midfield 3 we don't know and has been on the bench in recent games.
I don't believe in this whole number 7 curse nonsense at all, I don't think wearing the number 7 jersey plays a factor in Mason Mount's poor performances for Manchester United although the weight of the jersey is very heavy for him, it's easy to blame him when the reality is, how many top players go to Manchester United and become average, let's not forget that not too long ago for club and country, he was one of the first names on the team sheet, he was excelling at Chelsea for many seasons under different managers and in 2021 he played a pivotal role in their champions league winning run that year and had very good seasons for them especially the 21/22 season, and for England despite having very talented attacking midfielders, Gareth Southgate was starting him over Jack Grealish James Maddison Phil Foden and others including Jude Bellingham at the time that's how good he was and many were wondering why was he always playing every game he's not even that good. Manchester United got it wrong on this transfer, we'll see the best out of him hopefully, but if he keeps underperforming his stock will go down and you'll be in a situation where you want to get rid of him and no team would want him and the gamble they took in overpaying for him has failed so far and he has to improve otherwise he'll be axed.
And why exactly should he change his mind?
Because few mediocre players in their time don't agree with him?
Raya isn't a good goalkeeper but he is still a lot better than ramsdale!
To think we had Emi Martinez but Arteta sold Martinez for peanuts!
Kept Leno who couldn't catch a cross sold Leno & now buys two rubbish goalkeepers!
Not a chance. Arteta got luxury that only few manager got. He do trial n error, amateurs
Jan, be quiet 🤐. There’s a reason why coaches have just a single number one GK. It’s a different mentality to other positions on the pitch.
Please google any highlights from Shaka in goal& make sure you have some popcorn 🍿👀
Enjoy the circus 🎪 show‼️
Ahhh another day, another Ramsdale rally cry 😂🎉
cause Raya sucks and Ramsdale is good
@robertmorici8605 ah, I bet! 💀
Another game, another Raya howler
There’s got to be more to talk about other than raya and ramsdale, it’s boring now
Hey guys, can you all drop this nonsense about Raya, the coach has made his choice and that's it,and they're not doing badly, I sense the anti Raya campaign because he was chosen ahead of the English keeper,
Chaka Hislop should tell us if he ever conceded a goal from 55 yards. Ramsdale did against Sporting Lisbon knocking Arsenal out of the Europa League. Enough of this hypocrisy, Raya is the better goalie!!!!
Raya is the real deal,, Are you all blind,,?,, only lost 1 game all season,, Get back in your boxes,, I rest my case ha ha ha ha ,,COYG.
Jan wasn't disagreeing with Shaka - he was simply ASKING why Goalkeepers are so fragile mentally, and all Shaka did (and everyone else by not listening) is just continued to show that Goalkeepers are fragile mentally lol
Arteta is TOO STUBBORN to change keepers
This topic of Arteta and his goalkeepers is boring.
Arsenal won't win the league with either of the Goalies.
They both are average EMi martinez was better than all and leno is a better shot stopper than both
Raya is better than Ramsdale, period!
in what world do you see this? Are you high? I've watched pretty much every Arsenal game over the past 2 seasons and do not think Raya is half the goalkeeper Ramsdale is. I genuinely don't get the opinion that Raya is better. What has he done to show he is better? I don't get it.
There is no competition that was just some lie from Arteta, he has chosen Raya because he follows Arteta's stupid tactical instructions to the letter even if it makes him look like a clown.
arteta don't want the white boy in goal, he rather have a fellow spaniard in that position
You lie! It's you who wants your fellow overrated Englishman in goal
