Spain vs France tomorrow in the semifinals of the EUROs, 2 teams that’ve had opposite tournaments up to this point and one of them can make it to the final. A lot of people are backing Spain to win this game and that’s because they’ve been the best team of the tournament as they’ve been absolutely dominant they’re on fire they have gotten results with ease and the football they’ve been playing has been breathtaking. Right now, they’re seen as the favorites to win the EURO because despite being drawn in a very challenging group, they’ve managed to win all of their games without conceding a goal and after easing Georgia beating them 4-1 in the RD of 16, they beat Germany 2-1 in extra time proving that against better teams they’re up for the task and are ready for a big test. This has been a team that’s been known for dominating possession and completing 1,000 passes a game and of course they still have quality midfielders, but what they have in Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams, is something that previous Spanish teams have never had which is 2 direct and exciting wingers on either side of the same team meaning that opposing teams have to try to find a way to keep both of them quiet. I have a feeling that if they score first, they’ll beat France because as great as their defense is, they have been lucky at times and they don’t know how to score an actual goal and on paper, they should be able to beat them tomorrow. It’s really amazing to me how France have managed to make it to the semifinals without scoring a single goal from open play and they’re on the brink of reaching another final in a major tournament. As much as people like to talk about their lack of goals, they haven’t conceded a goal from open play meaning that they’re defending well and in football attack wins you games, defense wins you titles. Their solidarity at the back has made up for them not scoring enough goals in attack and I wonder how sustainable this will be especially if they go behind 1-0 against Spain who are the much better team than them right now. As we’ve seen with them in the past, there have been times where they manage to still win games without even being the better team because assuming that France gets it right and they continue to defend well as a unit they’re capable of knocking them out if everyone shows up. This is a team who regardless of how they play, you don’t want to count them out I mean just a team that has made it to 3 finals in the last 4 major tournaments you have to still take them seriously because either their luck could run out or they produce another defensive masterclass. Spain have been playing the much better football and they’ve been more convincing than France, but part of major tournaments no matter how boring a team plays is being able to grind out results and then move on to the next game because what if a penalty and an own goal is enough for them to win tomorrow meaning they have a chance to win the EUROs without a goal from open play as own goals is their top scorer.

Well the results will show it spain was the best team or Germany was the 2nd best team or not, Germany had matches against relatively lower ranked team compare to others only good team they faced was Switzerland which they drew, for spain , yes they have been very strong in all the fields but you have to give it to France too, they have managed to be in the semis while facing teams like Belgium and Portugal without having to score goals, that might seem a downside to you, but it's really astonishing to think that they have such a good defence to reach semis without scoring an open play game

why isn't anyone talking about the players Spain will be without? two defenders, a midfielder and there striker, oh and there all starters. I don't know how anyone could see them as clear favorites. i'm worried about what France's offense will do, especially without Carvajal defending.
That's because Spain doesn't depend on one player as they have shown against Germany, Spain have very good players such as merino who can do the job as good as pedri, and as for carvajal well grimaldo will replace him. This Spain team has very deep depth and because of that they are able to play with many formations and with different players with ease
When you factor Kylian Mbappe’s form and him not being fully fit and is uncomfortable wearing a mask and his supporting cast in attack misfiring, you wonder why France hasn’t scored a single goal from open play at the EUROs. It’s true that he has a better record at the World Cup than the EUROs which is a much harder competition, 12 goals in 14 games at the World Cup, 1 goal in 8 games at the EUROs. For god sake, own goals is leading the race to be the Golden Boot winner and we have a team who are on the brink of getting to the final without scoring an actual goal. Going into the semifinals against Spain, they’ve been elite at defending as a unit and their midfield has been key to how well they’ve been defending in this tournament, but the only concerning thing about that this team that everyone is talking about is how they’ve managed to make it this far without scoring a goal from open play. After producing yet another underwhelming performance against Portugal where he was subbed off with 15 minutes to go, there’s a feeling that for the game against Spain tomorrow, Mbappe needs to be dropped and it’s difficult for them to do that because they need him, you can see that he’s not 100% fit and he doesn’t look like himself on the pitch and in any other situation, you shouldn’t play him at all, because it’s a semifinal, you have to play your best players regardless of how they’re playing and how fit they are. In games like this against the best team of the tournament where your entire attack is struggling to score goals, this is where Mbappe is supposed to step up and put the team on your back especially since he’s supposed to be the face of football and other players have been able to perform while carrying an injury or having to use face protection, France as a whole have to get him in the game more and utilize him in areas where he best thrives as you got away with his lackluster performances in other games due to how good the defense was, but so they have a chance of winning this game if he remains off form and if that happens others have to step up and maybe they need another own goal to win.
France's experience may be the difference. Spain can be exposed when their press gets nullified, and France has the ideal personnel to attack Spain's weakened right flank. 2-0 for France.
As much as I admire Spain in this tournament, France is the one side who could overturn them. France are defensively very solid. They have pace on both flanks with Dembele and Barcola as well. For Spain, there's no Dani Carvajal, Pedri and Morata. Cucurella isn't fast and can be beaten by quick wingers. Nacho is not a natural full back. Kante, Camavinga and Rabiot will match up well with Rodri, Ruiz and Olmo. Unai Simon is vastly inferior to Mike Maignan in terms of being a reliable goalkeeper. I would prefer Spain to win and get to the final. But I think France have a slight edge.
Spain have been the best team in this tournament. They've played every match to win, to outscore the opposition and hold them at 0 in their own end. Kind of sad they beat Germany to get here because I feel Deutschland match up better against France than the Spanish do. Heart says Spain but brain says France. Problem is that RB position, without Carvajal and if Mbappe wakes up that equals trouble for Espana. Hopefully they will score in the other end to offset that. So yes, I predict a high scoring (for the level of this tournament) 2-1 and no pens in this one. Just got thatt feeling it's England vs France repeat is once again coming up, in a final this time.
Since the beginning of the tournament, ESPN has been wishing that Spain do not win it. They even discuss or say how France should play. For a neutral fan and a lover of nice football, I hope that Spain win it.
Ruiz is key to Spain now, is he fully fit to start? Another Absentee could definitely swerve the outcome towards France. Extra-time likely possibly in both ties
If Spain loses, there is no justice. France will turtle and try and strike on counter while Spain will play gorgeous attacking football. Panel picked Spain so France will win.
I think France needs someone to pin down Rodri or win the ball from him. Without him being the pivot, Spain may lose the central. I don't think Griezmann can manage him. France needs someone physically stronger.
Oii I'm not gonna lie Ousmane Dembele is absolute filth when it comes to dribbling but his finishing and final decision is woeful. Which is why i think after this tournament Olise will come to the fold, ESPECIALLY with his move to Bayern. Given he has both dribbling ability and a decent left foot.
😂😂😂 make no sense. He’s only really good in two v one. Spain won’t get as many clear cut chances as these people think. Also magnian is a monster in goal
You play him grom the bench...if the replacements get the job done then no need, if it doesn't work you bring him on..but the evidence suggests if you start him it wont work
France should be the favorite, Spain are depleted, there has to be a big performance from the front 3 and olmo again. I want Spain to win but we have to be realistic
Anybody who says mbappe isn’t playing good bc of the mask need to rethink what they’re saying. He wasn’t playing good before the mask. All season for PSG he was not playing well either and now it’s showing with France but he’s playing even worse with France.
Rabiot trying to catch Lamine off guard with mind games..Nagelsmann tried with the mind games and it failed..The kid dazzled and got an assist without even playing the full game Rabiot, bruh I suggest you look for something else instead of these petty mind games.. The Kid was baptized by Messi when he was a baby ..It won't work on him 😂
Jules is trolling here... You see that kit on the wall! 😮 That's the French National team which protested and flopped the World Cup 2010 in South Africa
I agree with Stevie on this one. As bad as France have been on the front end, they're yet to concede. Plus spain without carvahal and lenormad, it weakens the defense line even more
I'm hoping football wins out here, and Spain are rewarded for presenting a wonderful style of play during these finals. The pundits asked "how do you deal with the Spanish wingers?" ... well unfortunately the French will do what the Germans tried and that was to kick and foul them out of the game. I just hope the referee does his job and allows the football to flow and stamp down on any persistent fouling. I agree this is the semi that stands out (being English I still think this) and hope the best team deservedly get through. C'mon Spain ...
None of Spain's games have looked like that. If France tries to defend for the first 70 minutes, like Germany did, it is likely they will lose the game.
@@cloudybits474 France will play just like they did the last 5 games, there is not much Spain can do about it. France plays with 3 CDM which means Spain will have no room to play through the middle and on the wings they have better defenders than Germany. France plays for penalties and the occasional attacks on the wings with Mbappe and Dembele which sometimes leads to one single goal per game like an own goal. Oh and Germany played only in the first half defensive, they played very aggressive in second half which opened space for Spain. Germany had the best Attack in tournament even vs Spain they had over 2.0 expected goals.
11:00 "Spain have played different types of team so far but I don't quite think they've seen a team like France" That's an obvious assertion for of course no team in the whole tournament will have played another team like they've played before. The simple fact is, Spain have beaten Croatia, Albania, Italy and Germany.
Spain spent too much energy in this tournament already especially against italy when the azzurri were just toying with the spanish players and spain only won 1-0 on an own goal. All that wasted energy trying to humiliate their opponents would make them very tired thus far for this match. And on top of that missing 2 key important defenders from suspension and possibly pedri due to injury would tilt the favor towards france in this matchup.
No doubt that France is a great team but is it too much to consider that they might be starting an inevitable decline? I mean, everybody's waiting for them to break out in this tournament and it hasn't happened against teams that were inferior to Spain. Sure, they might put together a great performance against Spain and demolish them but that's probably not very likely. For, example even when Spain had a measurably worse team in 2021, it took a fluke Mbappe goal for France to win the Nations League Final. Personally, I'm kind of thinking that this game ends up looking a lot like the Spain vs France knockout game that took place during the 2012 Euros.
Mbappe and a few French standouts have really masked how defensive and ugly France has played over the years. Then again, im sure Deschamps hasn't lost sleep over it since it's produced results for his side.
@@ResidentNick Yeah well, at the end of the day you're looking at one World Cup and one Nations League trophy over the course of 12 years. Not too shabby for sure, but certainly not enough to label France a wonder team. And, all those trophies were won with a healthy Mbappe at the height of his powers, a condition he's nowhere close to at the present. For me, it will be fascinating to see how France reacts if Spain takes an early lead. I'm also interested in seeing how Theo Hernandez deals with Lamine Yamal seeing as defending isn't his biggest strength.
Jules "It doesn't matter how defensive, boring and low scoring France are, that's Dechamps game plan" Also Jules "England are so defensive and boring, Southgate's Gameplan is very poor"
For those of you reading this comment, it's okay, it's normal to feel lonely sometimes, if you're going through tough times, keep trying, but never give up,
And they have not conceded a goal from open play. Only the penalty to Poland. If you are going to make a comment like that, actually talk about their outstanding defense as well.
They're talking about Mbappe speed. When Spain literally have two young speedsters on both wings. Spain win this 3-0. Nico is gonna run circles around Kounde as will Lamine around Theo.
Lamal is not a speedster.. he has quick feet in tight spaces but he's not gonna outrun the fastest players ... his game is predicted more on skill and crossing, more of like a Sancho type of winger
Heart says Spain should win, and mostly they would. But the problem is, France is simply too stuffed with individual talent. If, in any moment in time, even one of the players comes in form, they can cause serious damage to all Spain's worked on, they are capable of that. Their attack is second to none, not only in Europe, but in the whole world. So, I hope they play good football, the last I would wanna see is them not attacking whatsoever, like they've the whole tournament(they do attack, but their efficiency is simply pathetic).
What tournaments is Steve talking about that Deschamps has won? He has won 1 world cup end of, nothing more. What an uneducated comment "there's a reason Deschamps has won euros and world cups".
Only Spain Has Played Football The Beautiful Way. Rest Of The 3 Teams Has Been Very Cautious And Defensive. Possibly They Dont Have Good Managers As I Dont See Any Problem With The Kind Of Players They Have
Should be interesting to watch. For Spain we have seen their best game, and they've been playing it against an aged Croatia, Albania and Georgia. Meanwhile France have played at their worst form (and prevailed) against Portugal, Belgium, Austria and The Netherlands. I'm picking France.
Someone needs to tell Deschamps to reposition Mbappe to permanently CF. Let Barcola takes the LW position. And please start Dembele instead of Griezmann.
Mbappe has been off his game for months. I know the broken nose would make it way worse for him right now, but he hasn't looked like his best self since early in the UCL group stage. I think it's the captaincy - he may want it, but he's not really a leader, and taking the pressure off might free him up to play with joy again.
Amazing how they say Griezmann owes his career to Deschamps. France is trophyless without Griezmann the last 10 years. Griezmann saved all of France in 2016 and Didier would not even be coach without him.

Looking at the names on the French roster I saw only one French name! 😂

Been screaming that on my tele the all tournament
France's experience may be the difference. Spain can be exposed when their press gets nullified, and France has the ideal personnel to attack Spain's weakened right flank. 2-0 for France.

Kay got her prediction right Fairs
Rabiot coming in for Camavinga is honestly criminal
And England will beat France in penalties
Since the beginning of the tournament, ESPN has been wishing that Spain do not win it. They even discuss or say how France should play. For a neutral fan and a lover of nice football, I hope that Spain win it.
Of course he plays and scores
Deshacms will go with attack
Not defence
Speed vs speed
He always goes for defense, that's how this France team wins. What ever makes you think this time will be different??
Deschamps might sub Antoine because he gonna need to dominate the game from the two wide wingers
I think he's going to sub Mbappe.
Ruiz is key to Spain now, is he fully fit to start? Another Absentee could definitely swerve the outcome towards France. Extra-time likely possibly in both ties

I think France needs someone to pin down Rodri or win the ball from him. Without him being the pivot, Spain may lose the central. I don't think Griezmann can manage him. France needs someone physically stronger.
Should be an interesting game tomorrow.
The man took France into two world cups and won one, people are mad Kylian is the GOAT in this generation
The french defence should definitely show the player who has made 3 assists by cutting in on his stronger left foot inside, sounds like a great idea.
😂😂😂 make no sense. He’s only really good in two v one. Spain won’t get as many clear cut chances as these people think. Also magnian is a monster in goal
Never bet against a generational talent… Yamal and the Spanish national team are going to win this!
Straight called it, nice.
Oh oh, ESPN just gave Spain the kiss of death.

Did you forget Rodri,Nico and Yamal are still playing? Grimaldo replaces Carvajal.

Germany had the best Attack in tournament even vs Spain they had over 2.0 expected goals.
or one of the teams receive a penalty.
And on top of that missing 2 key important defenders from suspension and possibly pedri due to injury would tilt the favor towards france in this matchup.
the tough team for spain was german because they are so physical, the remaining teams will be toyed by spain
Jules "It doesn't matter how defensive, boring and low scoring France are, that's Dechamps game plan"
