    Awesome to see how exotic fuels effect the power output on these small enhines!

    I mentioned awhile back ago a Nitro Fuel saw and E85 fuels. It's the only thing that makes sense, nitrous not practical turbo many have tried and failed still not practical.
    E85 in a car takes double the injector size and tune. E85 is huge performance in cars. I don't know much about chainsaw building just throwing ideas out there. I really enjoy channel. Really like to see a ported 462 vs 572 xp ported, piped on nitro dyno shootout It should get the algorithms going crazy at least in chainsaw world.

    Very interesting little look into that exotic fuel world…. Why the JB Weld outside the upper transfer port? What is that JB sealing it back up from? It appears that the muffler is just open with that big hole? How is that open exhaust not just smoking that piston? Thought you needed some muffler to not smoke the piston??? That’s a significant power jump from the fuel switch only??? Under 8 to over 10 is a hell of a jump up! 10hp out of that little engine is pretty wild stuff! The way it’s reving up to the stratosphere definitely had me thinking can it hold together at 15,000??? Holy smokes man I bet that son of a gun blast through that 8x8 or whatever you guys are using in a hurry! That would just be a heck of a lot of fun to get to run a couple of times! Very very cool stuff!

    • @dynojoemods2764
      @dynojoemods2764  ปีที่แล้ว

      The jb weld it from grinding through the transfers or adding boost ports. I didn't pop the cylinder off. As long as the tune is ok, and oil in the mix the muffler outlet wont smoke the piston.
      Short bursts of 15k+ seem to hold up well. As the rpm in the wood is a bit less and races are less than 6 seconds most the time

    Used to run alcohol/nitro in RC monster trucks T-Maxx etc.. that was 20yrs ago.. I know at the hobby shops you can buy 10-20-30-40% Nitro fuels and it almost looks like thats whats being run in this saw. Try some 30% nitro mix once it should gain even more power. This is very cool but not much good for cutting firewood or falling timber. Still very cool! Can't wait for the next video 👍

    I always wondered how that nitro methane would react if you mix in with gas 20%. It would be nice to get a little extra power out of daily usage.

    Interesting to see your pretty close on the torque with a normal build, race saw just tuned for much more RPM. I have no real interest in race saws as I actually use the things for work, you also wouldn't get me running nitro methanol indoors.
    Any of you guys run saws on E85 or pure ethanol?

      Though making a shit-ton more power that fuel is very toxic to life and corrosive to saw internals . Unless trying to get a world record …….

    I'm curious what av gas or 110 vp fuel does on the dyno. I've ran both in my 046 but don't have a dyno lol

    • @zack6892
      @zack6892 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Takes higher compression to gain power from racing gas like 110. A stock saw would probably lose power from higher octane as without boosting the compression higher octane fuel burns slower. Now a ported saw with decked cylinder may see some gains from premium pump gas I bet.

    • @zack6892
      @zack6892 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Nitromethane is so volatile it creates more heat and pressure then even high octane fuel it is similar to the explosive component in TNT with nitro producing more explosive energy by weight and the nitro doesn't require any oxygen charge or boost to compression to be effective it will make power just from ignition even in a vacuum which is why nitromethane was once used to fuel rockets in the form of tetranitromethane which is an even more explosive version of nitro lol. What's crazy is you can literally make rocket fuel by combing isopropyl alcohol and nitric acid over an extended period of time although it would take a lot to yield very little and it world take further processing to extract the pure tetranitromethane it is one of the most simple high power fuels you can get.
