That's brilliant! Thanks so much for sharing. I do a lot of traditional paper piecing, now I'm definitely going to give your paperless paper piecing method a try. : )
I have the Reynolds freezer paper from the grocery store, and the box says it is Plastic coated...not Wax. Sticks great! I ran some through my printer and no problems.
I’ve looked through the comments to find the link to the pattern, however in finding it, the site says “out of stock”. Will it be available to purchase in the future?
Hola felicitaciones por este patch tan hermoso,me gustaria saber si ustedes venden por online los paterns o moldes ya que no puedo comprar los kits, sere su agradecida por respuesta suya muchas bendiciones
Thanks Stephanie. We have patterns at the store but do not have kits available anymore. It is a great scrap buster and most of the pieces are no bigger than 10 inches but many of them are smaller so it would be a great way to go through your scraps. Here is pattern link. It is an expensive pattern but it has 12 different patterns included in the set. www.thesewingpalacebernina.com/shop/c/p/Almond-Country-Block-of-the-Week-Patterns-x29424877.htm
Don’t you think you owe at least a little thanks to Judy mathieson for pioneering this exact technique and making it famous in the 1980s/1990s? Maybe I just missed it, but I did not hear even a slight a mention of her in the video. I still use her books as my go to source of info for freezer paper piecing, especially for mariners compass.
A big thank you to the smart quilters out there that share techniques. Thanks JUDY!! The person in this video literally came up with this technique herself and modified it to work with a BERNINA edgestitch #10 foot. That's the wonderful thing about quilters is they are such creative and smart people we think of alike things! Thanks for sharing
Thank you so much for your easy piecsy paper piecing explanatory I've started learning made a couple loved it is so addictive love it😁👍👏👏👏😍question: what foot are you using can I use the stitch in the ditch foot? I'm using the 1/4 inch foot😁
Ada Encarnacion you can use your 1/4” foot. The stitch in the ditch foot has a center guide to keep you right along the folded edge of the freezer paper. Thanks for checking out our video.
Dorothy Clausen The add a quarter Ruler is available at most local quilt shops. We have them in stock and can mail it to you. Call if you want us to mail (406)443-5724
Hi, I think you missed the step re: printing the pattern onto freezer paper to use it as a template. I've rewound a few times to check, but nothing there mentions how to print/copy it. Also, how many times should you re-use the same freezer paper template? Hope someone can help/answer these questions, please.
Carol Wood Sorry that step is not clear. I usually take the pattern cut it out of my original and use 505 spray and adhere the pattern to the paper side of the freezer paper. You can also use a lightbox and trace your pattern onto the paper side of the freezer paper. What is nice is you can use the freezer paper several times since you are not Sewing through it. I can usually get five blocks out of one freezer paper pattern. I hope that helps.
Here is the pattern link we are set up to ship only in the United States at this point but this will give you pattern information you might be able to find it locally where you live. www.thesewingpalacebernina.com/shop/c/p/Almond-Country-Block-of-the-Week-Patterns-x29424877.htm
Yes it is. It is a 12 month pattern set. All 12 patterns included. www.thesewingpalacebernina.com/shop/c/p/Almond-Country-Block-of-the-Week-Patterns-x29424877.htm
Katie Bitomske Good question. You can either trace the pattern on the freezer paper or you can cut the pattern out from the original pattern and adhere it to the paper side of the freezer paper.
Katie Bitomske, she said you do not need to copy. You can use a copy machine to copy the pattern onto the freezer paper also. If you buy the package of freezer paper that is cut to standard paper size, you can put it through a copy machine much easier to transfer the pattern. Much less time consuming as well, rather than tracing everything.
ok I am confused... where does the freezer paper come in at? I see the "pattern" that you are folding using the template plastic, but I don't know where the freezer paper plays a role in this technique.. Did you attach (iron on) the freezer paper to the template or what?
Mary Cody The pattern is attached to the freezer paper or you can trace your pattern onto the paper side (not the waxed side) of the freezer paper. She is folding the freezer paper in the video.
I love your tutorial You Show it in a way that is so easy, I was wondering if you are going to have a class on line I could join ? I live in Indiana and I want to do the block of the week!
Nancy Dublin The pattern is sold as a set of 12+ a border and a pin cushion. It is sold through independent quilt shops as a pattern set. We are out of stock. We do have the pin cushion which you could try the technique and it is an in-expensive pattern. Visit our website or call the store for any questions 406-443-5724. www.thesewingpalacebernina.com

Hello Sewing Palace, I've watched a couple of times and still can't figure out how you got the pattern transferred to the freezer paper. Did you use a copy machine? Or trace it on by hand? Sorry, I feel a little silly but just wondering what I'm missing here. This is a gorgeous quilt BTW. I do a lot of FPP but had never heard of this "paperless" method where I don't have to pull papers off the back when I'm done. I'm so going to try this!! Thank you for this interesting tutorial.
If you have an inkjet printer I know you can print it out on the freezer paper..like if you were printing it on regular paper. I'm not sure about copier machines. Someone else probably knows the answer to that.
On the package of Freezer Paper Sheets (by C. Jenkins) it says to use INKJET copiers/printers. I'm assuming the heat from a laser copier/printer would activate the "stickiness" of the freezer paper & make a mess. You need to copy/print your design on the "dull" side - the shiny side is the side you press to fabric using low heat of an iron. The sheets are 54 lb paper which prevents rolling & curling as it goes through your inkjet copier/printer. It is much heavier & also a bit stickier than the grocery store freezer paper but is the same idea. If you have grocery store freezer paper & want to try the method out, I'd trace a simple paper-pieced design onto the dull side & proceed as in the tutorial - sewing next to the folded line. It's a great method - hope you like it! Hope this helps. Faith
It's just what it's called..because you aren't actually attaching the fabric to the paper foundation but you ARE using the foundation as a template so to speak..so it's paperless paper piecing LOL

Thank you for this video. I am emailing myself a link to this video so I can watch it again before I start my next paper piecing endeavor.
Good luck on your next project!
This makes more sense. I see how freezer paper replaces stitching to the paper. Cool!
That's brilliant! Thanks so much for sharing. I do a lot of traditional paper piecing, now I'm definitely going to give your paperless paper piecing method a try. : )
Thank you for sharing the technique! It is great. The 10c foot and freezer paper make it a great way to paper piece.
I have the Reynolds freezer paper from the grocery store, and the box says it is Plastic coated...not Wax. Sticks great! I ran some through my printer and no problems.
That’s great. Good luck.
I agree Reynolds freezer paper is fantastic...it works great!
Eliminates all the little cut away pieces.
GREAT method. I like to use paper piecing but haven't tried using freezer paper.. I will now.
I absolutely love this technique. I’ve been wanting to try FPP for a long time. Think I may try your paperless method
Beautiful, beautiful beautiful beautiful, do thanks, again and again
Thank you for showing how to make this. I have a 1965 full set of patterns from a quilting guild that I can certainly copy.
Brilliant! I've done a lot of FPP but avoided it quite often due to the paper removal
I use a tracing wheel & ruler to score the line so it folds easier
Thank you for your great tutorial, I now have got 2 blocks done and 3rd one on the go.
I just watched ur video. I love this quilt. Is it possible to still purchase this pattern?
Thank you for making this video! I've learned something. Sadly I live in Germany and can't buy your kit. It is very beautiful!
I’ve looked through the comments to find the link to the pattern, however in finding it, the site says “out of stock”. Will it be available to purchase in the future?
Can paperless piercing be done with any paper pattern ?
Is this pattern still available? It looks like a lot of fun as we are still sheltering in over the holidays. Thanks
The pattern is not available at this time. We have a pincushion pattern we could ship you that you can use this technique on.
Love this technique! Is the pattern still available?
Hola felicitaciones por este patch tan hermoso,me gustaria saber si ustedes venden por online los paterns o moldes ya que no puedo comprar los kits, sere su agradecida por respuesta suya muchas bendiciones
I wonder, could one use the acrylic templates for the DWR to trim the curved pieces? Might have to try and see.
Jackie Tucker It might very well work. Good idea. Just compare the paper template with your acrylic ruler and see if the curves are compatible.
I just found this no less than remarkable video! Is it possible I could by the kit or pattern? Thank you so much. You’re phenomenal!

The background fabrics are a collection of grey and white prints from Andover Fabrics designed by Alison Glass. Happy Sewing
How does the pattern get on the freezer paper? You just skipped over that part.
Katie Bitomske Good question. You can either trace the pattern on the freezer paper or you can cut the pattern out from the original pattern and adhere it to the paper side of the freezer paper.
Thank you for your explanation! I am learning as I sew!!

sema talay. We can ship it to you. It comes as 12 separate patterns and the retail price is $90 dollars
Спасибо! Очень красиво! 👍
Where did you get the freezer paper and will it work in laser printer?
Most printable papers work in ink jet printers not laser jet. The heat from the laser jet causes issues with printing.
Where do I find a #10 foot?

Is this Pickle Dish? I'm glad I found y'all😍
It looks lovely, but you're still using a paper template, you really can't say paperless, because that would mean fabric only
It's just what it's called..because you aren't actually attaching the fabric to the paper foundation but you ARE using the foundation as a template so to speak..so it's paperless paper piecing LOL
Is the pattern available?.
misty bowman yes. The pattern is available it comes in 12 individual patterns and the cost is $90.
Not technically no paper piecing as you rely on freezer paper to do the unit, easier yes but not paperless piecing.
It's just what it's called..because you aren't actually attaching the fabric to the paper foundation as in traditional paper piecing but you ARE using the foundation as a template so to speak..so it's paperless paper piecing LOL. That sure is a lot of paper fir a paperless method!!!! This is just the traditional method, nothing new here folks.
I'd love to watch this PP video but not going to watch a Joe Biden ad first!! I'll move to a different channel.
Joe Biden is your president, and Kamala Harris is his female black VP. God bless America!
I don't think this is for me. Too much moving from sewing to trimming and losing the rhythm.
