    We have more respect for homeless veterans who actually served in the Marines, whether they were cooks, admin, infantry or pilots. They served -- Sgt Slaughter didn't.

      @@RealCodyTheSuperman Yes, I've heard plenty about Remus' "stolen valor." The WTF is for the idea of a drill sergeant (which is what the Slaughter character was) being in the infantry and somehow being responsible for making sure the other men in his unit -- all of whom he must have seen as cowards -- didn't desert! I'm not a veteran myself, but I'm pretty sure that's not the way the Marine Corps works!

      Makes no sense in a shoot interview that he is claiming Vietnam service BEFORE getting into the wrestling business. WWE ran an article on wrestlers that actually served in the military breaking Kayfabe and included Road Dogg, Corporal Kirchner who are legit, but also included Sgt. Slaughter who wasn't there

    I was so hurt as a kid when the Sarge turned on The Hulk. I was a WWF and GI Joe fan and had one of each of his action figures. I had no idea he was a grunt in Vietnam. I have AN INNENSE AMOUNT OF RESPECT AND HE IS THE BEST LEGEND ALIVE TODAY!

    Sgt. Slaughter was and still is one of my favorite wrestlers. The coolest thing was watching the GI Joe cartoon with my kid when Sgt. Slaughter was made a character on there. Hey Hasbro, the next GI Joe sequel you make needs to have the Sarge in it.

    Was Mr. Slaughter actually in the military? I think his character was. I guess that's why he talks about it how he does as he is in "Character".     Ronald Remus was never in the military. Jesse Ventura was never in Vietnam and wasn't a Navy Seal either. He was US Navy 1970-75 but has exaggerated things to get ahead.

    I liked Sgt Slaughter as a wrestler but he lies a lot. He wasn't in the military from 68 to 74, he started wrestling in 73. So I don't believe anything he ever says.

    i remember seeing him live when i was a kid i think he came out with iron shiek and they were waving the flag. pretty sure it was during desert storm or right after. i never saw such a pissed crowd before lol. there was some woman and her boyfriend with a enormous american flag waving it, drunk as fuck screaming and threatening slaughter trying to get to him and they got thrown out throwing beer cans and stuff at him. i was just thinking this guy cant possibly live through this haha

Now the ones that were drafted could have very easily been a bunch of draft dodging hippies and torn up there draft cards and hide in Canada but a lot of them didn't they went to Vietnam . Lot of them died there . Some we're Missing In Action and for what so they could come home to people like you calling them baby killers and spiting on them .     Sgt seems smart when it comes to marketing and public opinion. He even put Vince in check. His betrayal is one of the best storylines I remember from my childhood, but I wonder what Hasbro thought. Contract or not, I doubt they liked it.

    Disappointing to hear him talking up his military service. In this case; he's already revealing so much behind the scenes that you can't argue it's him staying in kayfabe because he's not staying in kayfabe about anything else. It's misleading and lying here. Seeing comments where people are putting him and Ventura on the same page because Slaughter claims he was in the service...it's sad and disrespectful on Slaughters part.

      Yeah but with Ventura He actually was a seal but hated by the guys in his SEAL team. Chris Kyle wasn't the only seal to knock Ventura out cold but a guy in the same SEAL team with Ventura Richard Marchinko knocked his ass out as well.
