you are so right omg ... both of them discovering their passion "late" in life, becoming super engrossed in it, working towards making this newfound interest a career, just going through the motions with school and societal expectations before finding their niche ... dang. the mc of baby steps is in his third year of hs where i'm at and i know it continues into adulthood like blue period so i wonder if there will also be a tonal shift later in the story in terms of burnout etc ... thank you for this comment it made me so happy to think about this lol
RIGHT like 😐 always feels like a late stage attempt to prove to the reader that if their relationship were to happen all over again they would still fall in love because they are destined or something ...
@@tsukkinotes yeah i’ll probably hold back on collecting it for a while but i’m definitely due for a rewatch for the anime!! i also want to be ready for the movie whenever that comes out!
I just found your channel and I absolutely loved this video! Random find for me, but inspired me to start reading some stuff. YES I absolutely get the "what's the point" feeling after consuming masterpiece level media :D but there's always something...!
totally feel that about needing to be more selective with the manga you bring home...my shelves are overflowing too T-T Kaiju no 8 is also one that im on the fence about collecting physically. I'm also trying to sell off a good chunk of my collection, stuff I know I'm not gonna re-read or didn't love, but since I'm in canada and shipping is so high it's sucks not being able to get much of my money back - plus even if the volumes are like-new people wanna pay like 5$ a volume T-T
we have a shipping option called media mail in the us that makes it pretty cheap to send books so i'm lucky in that aspect whenever i do decide to unhaul series but i find it so hard for some reason :( i don't want to regret it down the line even though i know most series i have will be relatively easy to rebuy if i miss them
Definitely can’t wait to hear your opinions on this season of Drag Race! Very good so far, imo. So many charismatic queens that have made it a blast to watch each week!
Uggg I really need to get on it, I’ve been having to avoid spoilers like the plague 😭 honestly last year I was feeling really overwhelmed with all the drag race content coming out constantly that it felt like a chore to catch up so I’m hesitant to dive back in because I don’t want to feel that way again
I am so here for the Haikyuu renaissance on my social media!! Also awaiting international movie dates 🙏 Insomniacs After School is a very heartfelt series. I also feel like it's a fantastic read with characters that felt real and a beautiful story, but I would also not add it to a personal collection. Kaiju no.8 is a weird one, I feel like everyone's reading it but no one's raving about it? I want to check it out but it feels like just a solid read, not a particularly outstanding one. I also became an Apothecary Diaries fan while watching the anime, it is fantastic. I previously heard only good things about it on mangatube so I knew it will be good but damn. It is really good. As a side note, based on these covers, I was absolutely not expecting Maomao to be such a gremlin lmao
i am overwhelmed with the haikyu content but it is such a welcome feeling, i follow a lot of fellow fans so there has never been a drought really but it has been so long since i've seen this much and it is so so great i'm excited to keep going with insomniacs! i'm intrigued by the romantic progression for sure and the vibes are good and that pretty much perfectly sums up my feelings on kaiju no.8, it is a great series but its just missing that extra oomf to give it living rent free in my mind status. maybe i don't resonate as much with the characters? i think if i didn't start out buying the series i would be content with it being a library or sj read so i would recommend that route if you want to try it out and yes!!! apothecary diaries is so great, can't wait to read the light novel soon. looks like the anime adaptation is a hit as well from clips and reactions i've seen. but yes omg maomao looks so gorgeous on the manga covers but ... what lies within lol
Love that you got back into Baby Steps. I've finished it online 2 years ago. way too underrated. romance gets pretty good in the manga. pro storyline is amazing. I'll always be mad that it got rushed and cancelled. one of the greats. Defo copping the physical Mandarin manga someday just like what i did with my Daiya Really out of tune with animanga rn tbh so just been reading the ongoing ones i love like Wha, Blue period, Jojo p9, and Vinland Saga pretty much. I did binge read the rest of Dr Stone a while ago including the spinoffs and additional stuff so that was a fun experience
baby steps ended up being so good but i agree the ending was abrupt TT felt like there was so much more to explore but the pro arc was amazing and i loved the romance
How did you read Haikyuu so fast 😭😭 I collected all of Haikyuu physical during one of the summer sales but it’s takes me 1.5 to 2 hours to read one volume like it’s sooo much words. So I’m finding it hard to get through but I’m caught up to the anime so far and ofc Tsukki is my fav character haha
the series is pretty dense i will admit, i think it takes me about an hour to read a volume? but it literally consumed my life lol the like 5 hours i have between getting home from work and going to bed were all just me reading and then on the weekend i read like 20 volumes??? idk i was possessed or something, i think that’s why the slump hit me hard when i finished bc i was investing so much time on it in such a short period,, but take your time with it for sure!!
ive been wanting to rewatch haikyu in anticipation for the movie but man i am super sick right now and all I'm doing is watching Big Brother with my partner 😳 reading is taking a small backseat too all i can do is sit here and rot (dw i went to urgent care and they gave me the goods i hope it clears up so i can go back to living)
Gotta say was kinda disappointed with lesserafim’s comeback..im not hating it just overall was pretty underwhelmed..so excited for ZB1’s japan debut on the 20th already eating up the teasers 😊
i only have a handful of lesserafim songs i like so i didn't go in with high expectations but this is my favorite title track of theirs! i like rnb inspired tracks a lot though. and yes omg the concept looks SO pretty, i'm also excited
wow the MC from baby steps sounds so much like the MC from blue period but with tennis instead of painting
you are so right omg ... both of them discovering their passion "late" in life, becoming super engrossed in it, working towards making this newfound interest a career, just going through the motions with school and societal expectations before finding their niche ... dang. the mc of baby steps is in his third year of hs where i'm at and i know it continues into adulthood like blue period so i wonder if there will also be a tonal shift later in the story in terms of burnout etc ... thank you for this comment it made me so happy to think about this lol
both 2 of my faves mcs but never thought of it that way. Yatora is more emotional i'd say? Maruo from baby steps more strategic and lofical
I feel you on disliking amnesia trope. It always feels unnecessary and used to add another obstacle. It always makes me feel frustrated lol.
RIGHT like 😐 always feels like a late stage attempt to prove to the reader that if their relationship were to happen all over again they would still fall in love because they are destined or something ...
aaa i love these monthly media log videos!! also i can feel your love for haikyuu through the screen! it makes me want to collect haikyuu (eventually)
thank you!! and do itttt it’s so worth it, the anime for haikyu is also great (i know collecting the volumes is a big commitment)
