Awesome video thank you! It's interesting to see all those strange ingredients I've never seen before. I guess the point of oden is just to have different "sponge"-like ingredients that soak up a delicious liquid, creating a variety of textures with a similar taste
@@angelasanford5138 I googled for a bit, and I think that daikon, at least in Japan, has a bitter flavor that I guess is extracted better with starch from washed rice than just water. There are probably other methods like soaking in salt water, or just skip if you like the taste, but this is just a traditional method that they use.
