Thank you so much Btw I ordered the XL pads the day I got them bc my ear slightly touches the drivers and after 30 minutes of use, my ears begin to hurt. So I'm hoping the XL pads will fix the problem.

The Sony 950bt is at the top of my list. Even without the bass booster (which is an impeccable addition). Its a bit bulky more so because of the comfortable ear cups. I love them.

I love the ATH-M50x, which I use at work, that's about 8 hours of use every day. However the sennheiser 360(gaming headset) is even better, it's open back, with large ear cups and very light, if you are using it at home with no one else around I would recommend these kinds of headphones.

If you want a really balanced headphone, I would recommend you checkout the oppo pm-3. Really nice sounding headphones with a great planar sound. Not really basshead headphones, but is a jack of all trades and dare I say master of many.
Well, at the very least you're spot on with your review of the ATH-M50X. The bass is just slightly enhanced, but amazingly comparable otherwise to the ATH-A700X. The ATHs are more accurate, but for general listening they are less forgiving. I have fairly large ears and so far the M50Xs are very comfortable. I really like the detail in audio technica headphones. I think they have particularly well engineered drivers for the relative price (or something, I'm not sure why they sound better than they should).

+EveryThingTech No they really aren't. The Brainwavz HM9s are better than ATH-M50s as are the Sennheiser Momentums. If you are a basshead, the Beyerdynamic DT770s are great bass cans.
ATH-M50's for the win, man! I actually didn't know you can fold them like that! Just tried it with my pair and it works (well, duh, lol). I actually like some other headphones better, but I can't afford them, so I'll be sticking with these for a long while. So glad and surprised that they still make someone's top-tech list even in 2015! The best tech really is timeless, eh? (sort of).
been using the vmoda m80s for over a year now. might keep bumpin them for a while longer before I invest in a step up on the vmoda ladder cus I'm hooked on their brand. I still have an almost 4 year old pair of skullcandy hesh 2's that still work pretty good too xD

Ok i know these are a little mainstream but you should do an unboxing and review of the Razer Adaro DJ headphones i think theyll get right up there with the m50xs
Great reviews. If i had to choose i'd go with audio technica. Really like wired headphones. And because i don't use them for gaming but for listening music heavy on the voice i always return to my grado 60. Maybe not audophile quality but man they are fun to use, great value for the money and when mixed with my fiio amp you get a stellar combination.

I'm for a lookout for a good close wired headphone for more or less $500. I'll use it with my headphone amp so be good if I can take advantage of the amp. My amp can take up to 600 ohm. I like RNB, acoustics, alternative, bit of jazz, bit of classics.. Pretty much all. So far in my list I have, beyerdynamic d770, pm3, shure1540 (over my budget a bit), denon 50 (though since doesn't need amp).
I would definitely buy the AKG K7xx off massdrop if you're looking for good headphones with deep bass. The comfort of the M50x is abysmal compared to the anni-pads the K7xx have. I really struggled to wear the M50x for more than 15 minutes because the pads are so tiny. Another great option is the Beyerdynamic DT770 which have crazy good low end. I'm very surprised that not one pair of open back headphones even made this list...
