- An 18-year-old volunteer firefighter helped 16 hikers escape Jasper National Park as flames moved in and ash rained from the sky. She describes how the rescue played out.

At 18 years of age, she's amazing. Counting the previously cut logs of 67, and using that as guidepost to find their way back in the darkness and heavy accumulating smoke. Colleen Knull, thank you for your bravery and grit to help rescue these hikers to safety. Hats off to you.

She's an example for every generation. Age is completely irrelevant.
In the general sense that's true. However, since we have a lot of kids of that age who are floundering, uncertain of what to do with their lives in the future, having someone like this to look up to isn't a bad thing for that age group. @@Kilmarro

Wow, I’m gobsmacked! Not only did she use her memory, skills, and knowledge, she Took Charge. And got everyone out and sent on to safety. There has to be an award with her name on it.
