In August I read (among other books) A Dangerous Collaboration by Deanna Raybourn and the first volume of Spy x Family and enjoyed both sooo much!
Also, I absolutely agree to what you said about the AGGGTM series. What Holly Jackson did with Pip is not something many authors do. And yes, on an empathetic level it's absolutely horrible what happens to Pip but on an artistic level, I really enjoyed seeing how Holly Jackson wrote that. A lot of thought and research must've gone into all that.

I'm so glad you said what you said about the Naturals series bc I didn't love the inheritance series like everyone else but I do love the criminal minds premise and I've been hesitant to pick it up.
Excited for a new witchy book! I just finished Garden of the Cursed and it was so good! Way better than I was expecting. Great witch read!

Bonjour Katie, I refrain from making a mystery, you read with an assiduous pace which goes well beyond my readings. So I can't add anything, except that watching this vlog you look more beautiful than ever.

I finally got to reading The House in the Cerulean Sea and I simply adore it!! They were so lovely and I bawled at how precious the relationship of two main were and also their connection with the children. I also managed to achieve my reading goal for the year which is really fun and I'm so happy that I got to read a lot this year. 💖💖

i literally haven't rated any book 5 stars since reading fourth wing 😭 and i really hope reading assassin's apprentice for w&w will give me a 5 star read finally

my reading month was pretty similar to yours in that most of my 5 stars were rereads. i reread heartstopper as well, which was incredible and then of course i watched season 2. i also started a reread of the murder most unladylike series by robin stevens which is one of my all time favourite series and it was so great to revisit the characters. i love them so much. my other 5 star was daisy jones and the six, which was a first time read for me

The Lost Ticket by Freya Sampson was my favorite this month. I love how she creates such a cast of characters that are vastly different but end up working together well. Her other book The Last Chance Library was also a good read earlier this year

I can't brag about the amount of books I've read in August (5 duh, 3 of which are classics) but overall I had fun! I'm planning to get into AGGGTM series too, since many people like it (you included). Personally, out of all the books I read in August, I liked Bonesmith by Nicki Pau Preto (new release) the most. Frankenstein and Anne of Green Gables were charming too, in their respective way.
I'm glad your reading month was enjoyable! Hope the next one is a good one too!
PS. VICTOR VALE IS LIVING RENT FREE IN MY MIND SINCE I READ VICIOUS/VENGEFUL. I CANNOT COPE.

My most favorite book of the month came out as a surprise for me because I’ve never read a classic English literature and it’s Emma by Jane Austen. I read it on a whim as well & I couldn’t put it down so I’m in a classic reading spree & currently reading Jane Eyre.

I was able to find The Naturals series in hardback on Pango books. A couple of them aren’t in the best condition but at least I have the original covers! I read 18 books In August, and my favorite was The Wishing Game by Meg Shaffer. It was so good if you like a little magic, found family, and books about books! Highly recommend!

  • @christy2935
    @christy2935 ปีที่แล้ว

I'm also in the 19 books for August club. My 5 stars were all 4 volumes of Lore Olympus (read volume 1 and had to binge the rest), and The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea. The first Murderbot novella, All Systems Red, was a close 4.5.
My disappointments were Marissa Meyer's Heartless, Gilded, and Cursed. I think they're well written, there are actually some great lines, and I love the folklore in Gilded and Cursed, but they never elicited much of an emotional response for me.
I'm with you on Kingdom of Ash and Throne of Glass. I feel like if people pick up ToG first they love that series the most, but I came to it second after ACOTAR and find it lacking. I don't care for about half the characters, I hated Aelin for the first few books before she grew on me, and I still find her annoying. The first 2/3 books feel like a completely different series than the rest. I do like the overall idea of the story and how most of it develops so that's how I managed to finish it. Elide and Lorcan were definitely my touchstone characters that I wanted to read more about.
    Love your earrings!

Empire of Storms was my least favorite one. The pacing was strange, there were a lot of strange decisions the author made for the fate of the main character and there were a lot of unanswered questions. (Totally just my opinion personally, I wouldn’t think less of anyone who felt differently)

My favorite read from last month was A Court of Mist and Fury and my least favorite book was Legendary from the Caraval series. I decided to just Dnf the series even though I like the writing style of Stephanie Garber I just don't the like the story premise and it drags on to long. I just recently had to redo my tbr for September cause I felt a reading slump coming along and did not want that at all so hopefully my line of books for me to read give me the mood to read. Happy September!!
