However the important thing to note is that the Emperor has tossed away his compassion and whatnot so that events like seeing one of his favorite sons dead or needing to kill Horus wouldn't impact him negatively. But the entire rest of the fight can be looked at similarly - it's all told from Horus' perspective so there may be things that he is internally exaggerating, getting incorrect, embellishing, or underselling. I do love that the chaos god Big E is the god of ruin. Not order or any thing benevolent. Ruin is his darkest aspect, the heaviest cost and his greatest sin for making the Imperium. Actually makes him more human, the Emperor knows his own evil and chooses to not be dominate by it.
It was very close, but all the Chaos Gods managed was to ensure that by the 40k period, the Emperor is a god of order, the very anathema they sought to prevent.
So from God of order to now God of ruin? /facepalm He's a God of Death. I don't get why people don't see this and how the IoM behaves. They are a death cult, following an undying God of Death.
At this point I would bet money that while every god-aligned traitor legion has its champion (Ahriman, Kharn, Lucius and Typhus), there is one true champion of Chaos Undivided and Undecided, a champion so vile that his name is only spoken in disgust... and that name is Erebus.
There's something fitting about the big E managing to pull off a win thanks to all the energy being pumped into him by the regular citizens of the imperium. Truly, he ascended to something far greater than any mere man or even primarch - Goku.
@@headlibrarian1996 from the Lexicanum: Ollanius Pius is a legendary figure, said to be a Guardsman who sacrificed his life to save the Emperor during the Siege of the Imperial Palace. Where can I find the old version of Emperor's and Horus' fight? Was it written in any older book and they changed it with new Abnett's book? And why GW decided that this last scene needed a change?
I saw a video discussing the final words of the Emperor to Horis, implying that he will somehow see him again and that Horus' soul was NOT completely obliterated and erased from all of existence and that it's possible for him to return some day, and I am straight up praying that they don't go down that route, as it would devalue the significance and permanence of his death.
Yah nah mate its gonna happen REGARDLESS your copium sht of not "going that route" It will happen whether we like it or not. EMPHASIS on Like it or not part. As much as we give flank on the author story telling. It will be part of the lore sadly for folks who are super invested that sht
Whatever it takes to sell models. - GW probably As a side note I would argue that allowing a path for a character to be resurrected almost 30 years real time never mind several millennia in fiction does not cheapen the death. This isn’t Marvel killing Jean Grey every 2 years or so.
I want GW to focus more on 40K lore now that the Heresy is done. I want the history to progress forward with the Emperor coming back and Guilliman and the Lion reuniting
Bruh no they need to learn from the MCU phase 1-3. Gotta individually reintroduce the primarchs, then introduce them to each other, and up until the emperor returns. And the orher factions need to converge too. He should return by reincarnation imo but they need to give fans good reason to debate the different possibilities by making them seem plausible
I prefer the initial setting of perpetual stasis and rot. As soon as the Imperium crushes one threat, another arises. But then GW were like "people are still using models from the 1990s and having fun!!111 Money!!!!" And so we had to have Guilliman and Primaris marines.
Wow, truly my favorite Majorkill video (besides the magical ones that disappear) and a purely unique and innovative take on the IP we all love. Sucks for everyone else that this topic and title are completely unusable now that MK utilized them, but that's the creative process.

Awesome, though I think you let one small changed lore detail slip: Horus was stabbed to death not had his existence obliterated by the emperor, as was originally stated. Meaning his soul is STILL VERY MUCH INTACT and will most likely gain a physical body by the time of WH40k's equivalent of the endtimes.
It's a perpetual killing knife no? Wouldn't that make it so that the soul is destroyed as well since Perpetuals are really just immortal souls in meatsuits.
@@electricfeverx976 I guess it would be directly stated that Horus' soul do not longer exist anymore, otherwise it's pretty much another window for another primarch return
After that, can't be sure if Horus's soul was utterly destroyed or not. I don't want to see the return of loyal Horus after he committed so many atrocities. The suffering he caused was just too much, doesn't matter if they try to paint him a good guy who was mind controlled or whatever. He did what he did and it was unforgivable no matter what Big E says. 😅

Seriously they spent maybe 3 minutes talking about emperor vs horus and theres a big audience who would listen to a quality podcast about canon 40k lore that just tells the story and doesnt fill their episodes with personal opinions and inside jokes

I agree, the old lore was way better than this one. This new lore by Abnett makes no sense, because all these years GW tries to introduce to fans an almighty Emperor with unlimited psychic power and in this last book they turned him into a weak cheap trickster. I prefer the version of the Emperor who could easily eradicate any moment he wanted every fiber of Horus' body and soul but prefers not to do it out of his compassion until Horus leaves him no other way and Big E realizes finally that his son was trully lost forever, only then althouth he is severely wounded thanks to his incredible psychic power he can end it and he decides to do it by destroying him utterly, out of existence. That old version of the allpower Emperor is the one that fandom deserves. This book is a huge stupid backflip from everything GW stands for all these years..

Wasn’t funny the first time, still isn’t funny after the thousandth time.
Oh look at me the edgy party pooper
I do love that the chaos god Big E is the god of ruin. Not order or any thing benevolent. Ruin is his darkest aspect, the heaviest cost and his greatest sin for making the Imperium. Actually makes him more human, the Emperor knows his own evil and chooses to not be dominate by it.
Makes sense considering what he’s done.
It was very close, but all the Chaos Gods managed was to ensure that by the 40k period, the Emperor is a god of order, the very anathema they sought to prevent.
he's not a god of ruin he was Going to be but prevented it now he's actually becoming one of order
@@Ithilienranger345 no His dark king aspect would have been the god of ruin. Now he is the God of Geriatric Psychic wheel chairs.

At this point I would bet money that while every god-aligned traitor legion has its champion (Ahriman, Kharn, Lucius and Typhus), there is one true champion of Chaos Undivided and Undecided, a champion so vile that his name is only spoken in disgust... and that name is Erebus.
Funny because the name Erebus refers to the entrance to hell itself.
@@nathanielartosilla9110 How fitting, considering W30k/W40k Erebus is definitely an entrance to some very dark and (generally) unpleasant place...
There's something fitting about the big E managing to pull off a win thanks to all the energy being pumped into him by the regular citizens of the imperium. Truly, he ascended to something far greater than any mere man or even primarch - Goku.

damn, so Ollanus and St Ollanius Perrson are now confirmed to be one and the same. Interesting that the last Cathoric becomes an Imperial Saint
The first imperial saint
Who makes him a saint? Nobody planetside witnessed what Oll did.
@@headlibrarian1996 from the Lexicanum: Ollanius Pius is a legendary figure, said to be a Guardsman who sacrificed his life to save the Emperor during the Siege of the Imperial Palace. He is considered a Saint within the Imperial Guard and his image is often displayed on regimental banners.[1]
The Order of Ollanius Pius is the highest military honour awarded in the Imperial Guard: "...Lucian lifted the winged medal of the Order of Ollanius Pius. Bearing the golden face of an angelic youth, laurel leaves arrayed across his noble brow, the medal represented the very highest honour a mortal man could earn in the service of the Imperium"
@@thelatinoguy That doesn’t answer the question. I doubt Dorn and Valdor paid attention to the dead Oll when gathering the dying Emperor and teleporting back to the Throne, despite the fact that he shouldn’t have been there at all. Neither witnessed his pointless attack on Horus. So I repeat, how did anyone planetside hear about a guardsman on the Vengeful Spirit, let alone get told his name and that he fought Horus?
@@headlibrarian1996 what do you mean he wasn't supposed to be there? Pius was there to support the Emperor as one of the last remaining Perpetuals. While I don't believe the Primarchs paid any heed to Pius since he was turned into a red mist, I feel like maybe a witnessing Custodian or Astartes mentioned the "lone mortal" who stood up against the Archtraitor. And ofc then that story got sensationalized and morphed over 10000 years and amongst the Guard is regarded as a Saint. I don't think he was ever actually Sanctified, but he is still revered as a Saint amongst mortal men

and for the good guys to win and for happiness to take over and for them to have sleep overs and talk about boys

Come on.
