i know whats in the dark cells...
all the banned yu-gi-oh cards that the emperor collected so he can make a 1 shot deck that he used against kitten.
God I miss that show
Banned list for you pissed to huh
MaxxC still banned 40k years later

"... You're the only person in the galaxy who plays this stupid game, aren't you?"
"... Tzeentch plays it."
"Well, Tzeentch is a giant nerd, now isn't he?"
Still waiting for someone to make an extense video about the Ghoul Stars, the Stars of Madness kicking tiranids out
Well for that GW would have to know what's going on, and I really don't think they do at least for that section of the galaxy
The what doing what to who?!
@@grumpymonk2460
A sector of the galaxy that has a cluster of stars and plannets that are somehow connected to lovecraftian beings.
A tyranit hivefleet went there, got beaten up and instead of sending more, the TYRANITS shose to ignore that system entirely.
What scared the Tyranids that bad that they never send troops again, even though Tyranids are never mindless killers(minority)
Didn't Sadman of Terra or Majorkill do a video on those already?
I bet that weak dying star isn't what's singing. I would bet it's a Catan god hiding and feeding on the star and anything stupid enough to come close to it.
Was thinking the same but more a benevolent one that actually help early necrons and made their lives better only for them to be destroyed by the war in heaven
I like weshammers explanation. Combine it with it being a casualty of the war of the heavens from either side and you have one cool story.
Maybe Orikan can figure it out
I feel like the watchers in the dark are the inverse of demons not Order as a concept but a embodment of the gods positive aspects like the Chaos gods arent "Chaos" but CHAOS. chaos isnt bad or good its just things in motion we just see the negative representations because thats what we look for which feeds into humanity seeing more of the darkside.
I just had a brief thought that possibly they could be a few Old Ones still roaming around.@@TheKnizzine
I want to know more on The Watchers. Anything that makes a demon run away without speaking or moving is true nightmare fuel. And why are they hangin out with what is essentially holy knights?
They're just little guys that are locked in
Actually, we do get a lot of info about Watchers in the Dark from, surprisingly, the novel about Luther.
TLDR; the Watchers are very anti chaos. They were/are a species of both male and female, as you can hear their voices speak. Moreover, they were put there as guardians of the Caliban by the Old Ones, as the planet of Caliban is part of a wider machine. The Old Ones role for the Watchers was to literally watch* pardon the pan, and protect the negative energy which leaked from the planet of Caliban, the Plagueheart (that’s what Vashtorr calls Caliban), and its heavily implied that all the beasts of Caliban were essentially the local fauna that was influenced by the leaking negative/warp corrupting energy.
Now, the Plagueheart is part of a wider machine, as explained in the Arks of Omen Vashtorr and The Lion, is called the Dissonance Engine. Other parts that make up said engine are the Ouroboros and the Tuchulcha engine. The Dissonance Engine itself is something called ‘The Key’, the key was fractured by the Old Ones and scattered across the known universe as the key will unlock to universe-changing weapon that will allow Vash to ascended to the level of other Chaos Gods.
Vashtorr the Arkifane has reunited the broken pieces of the planet of Caliban, and the former two parts, to created essentially a new planet that he calls the Wyrmwood. At the end of the Lion Arks of Omen, Wyrmwood is able to create a hole in the universe but instead of it moving to warp, it moves into the Webway.
That’s the end of the story as it stands right now. But it’s a super interesting to see the reason behind why the Watchers in the Dark are and what their purpose is.
trazyn: ypur telling me that the emperors collection fits beneath his palace?
*laughs in planet sized museum*
Trazyn will never not be my favourite Necron.
Emperor : am gunna be the very best..the best the ever was..." trazyn: hold my beer you basic
If I were to inexplicably appear in the 40k setting, the _only_ place I'd want to appear is in front of Ol' Collector-Bot while he's reviewing his collection. I'd be one of a kind in the universe, with an outside perspective on _everything._ Every incentive to keep me alive, secret, and conscious.
@@Quintoniasfavorite necrom? No. Favorite character? Yes.
Well to be fair that's just the Emperor's collection of things too dangerous to exist, yet too powerful to destroy. His entire "collection" is also known as "The Imperium"
OK, after hearing all this about the dark cells, I am absolutely certain that it's one of the missing primarchs, whom is a blank. Subject 11, too dangerous to be free too valuable to lose, the whole feeling you described in the dark cells sounds just like the effects of a blank, a blank so powerful that it unnerves even the custodes. So much more that could be added on too.
You might be cooking there.
A blank but with the power of a primarch would be on a whole different level. It'd probably even have given the Emperor great unease which would be enough to seal them away.
Now this is an idea and a half. I really like it.
Though I'm split if I want to know about the lost primarchs.
Could just be an insanely powerful blank or a blank perpetual? Is that even possible?
That's a really good theory, and it doesn't even need to be a Primarch to be a great story though the whole subject XI seems to hint that it would be. Anyway, thanks for sharing that, great food for thought
Makes more sense as the primarchs have reflections, opposites of them and there is Magnus the red
But if a blank was that powerful there wouldn't really wouldn't be anything they could do to stop them unless they were non hostile
Basically the entirety of the SCP Foundation is beneath the Imperial Palace.
That's just like one wing of the black cells.
Nope it's the alternate Site 13 (SCP-1730). That's were it went after the Thresher was turned on. sm
Most likely.
>SECURITY BREACH< Deploy Mobile Task Force to administer Class C amnestics.
What the People think, what Happend to all the Criminals on Terra?
Oh the moment of frustration about the Year of the Ghosts really made me chuckle. I can totally picture the anger of a fan of all things spooky must feel about a supposed year when trillions of ghosts suddenly popped out of their graves to battle daemons of all four corners of Chaos, goes completely unspoken about without any information about it.
The people: *WHERE IS THE LORE?!*
GW: there is no lore
The people: *WHY NOT?!*
*Shakes the GW furiously/excitedly*
They probably don't even remember it in the first place. They are too busy being "current year".
That's where they kept the female Custodes until last week.
Yup in the words of Star Wars
Somehow they always existed
Damn Tzeentch
This comment wins 😂😂😂
BROOOOOOOOOOOOO! I was looking for this comment!!!!! XD
what is the problem with female custodes? my only problem is, that they where not introduced organically nor that they where forshadowed properly.
Gotta love how warhammer seems to nail the aspect of "Nothing is scarier." There's always just enough information in their work to get the mind going but rarely enough to actually ruin the mystique behind it.
That Siren Star specifically gives off some Junji Ito vibes, honestly dig it
the emperor couldnt kill drachnyen, the dark cells may well have other daemons that could withstand him and his sword, but cannot be allowed to escape back into the warp.
The intro is me lmao. "Spooky season is only 6 months away". I crave Halloween it's the best holiday.
I have 10 or 11 costume ideas that I haven't tried yet, Halloween couldn't come fast enough for me
its been like 3 or 4 years since ive done anything on halloween

The Watchers in the Dark beg the question: How does Captain Paranoid, aka Lion El'Johnson, trust something so completely unknown?
Lion trusts?
One of them didn't harm him when he first woke up in the forest.
It's implied they are not unknown to him. I think he has a sort of understanding about them.
The Lion has lived with them since childhood, it's not that the Lion "trusts" them it's just the Lion know what are they.
They.....are warp entities, similar to Kairos Fateweaver in that they know both past and possible futures, but bound to the Emperor of Mankind, tasked with helping to guide the Lion, a key figure in the future to come, to bring that future to fruition. The exact nature of them is unknown, but one theory is that they were a group of psychers of immense power who found the Well of Eternity, and with the aid of the Emperors immense psychic power, were able to go in, and return, changed in many ways, blessed with great knowledge and insight, but bound to His vision and goal.
(Just a personal theory)
Just here to say that if anyone is considering using better help please look into the company first they're quite sketchy
It’s also (at least looking from a lower class perspective) quite a expensive
I suspect that Watchers in the Dark might be warp entities from before the War in Heaven. They likely migrated to the material realm when things became too chaotic over in the immaterium. That would give them a vested interest in defeating Chaos.
In regards to the Siren Star I hope it's not as depressing as you think it is but frankly that would arguably be an even more grimdark story than a daemon or an ancient weapon.
It's probably just a C'tan chilling in that dying star
The 2nd and 11th Primarchs were taken by the Emperor and Tasked with being the Supreme Goalers of the Black Cells due to the Absolute Danger of the things imprisoned there and their ability to destroy the Imperium of Man. They were erased from the record so that no one would ever go looking for them or accidentally find out about the prison and what’s contained there in their search for the Primarchs
I know I have commented similarly in the past, but I have to say: Your passion in writing and editing these subjects is commendable! I truly appreciate the work you’ve put into creating such enjoyable videos. To anyone reading this comment I pray you to look back at the bgm, the fan art, and the images (not only Warhammer, but other gaming media and cover art) that Wes and his team have painstakingly sifted through in order to produce his content
The 11th primarch is in the 11th dark cell just waiting for the golden throne to fail then he'll be released and be the psychic shield that magnus was meant to be
He? Fat chance. The lost Primarchs have always been morbidly obese black women. So are the traitors and loyalist primarchs. Malcador too.
a blank works perfectly, opposite to magnus.
And also utterly mindbrokenly batshit insane
Unless stasis casket..
Wait, you mean the psychic shield isn't the friends we met on the way? Why was I being nice to all those dickheads for years then? 😭😂😁

Pretty sure the Siren Star is a xenos emergency broadcast beacon.
Whatever cataclysm killed the system's inhabitants probably set it off, and it's been wailing into the void ever since, never meant for human ears and still managing to impart its meaning: "Please, come over here and help me!"
This is exactly what I should be listening to at 1am, utterly alone and worryingly sleep deprived.
I'm going to guess it's Steve Buscemi. The true God emperor of mankind, fellow astartes.
According to rumors, he has a friend along, who was the original and perfect specimen for the lesser beings known as Primarchs. We only know his name is Chuck and has counted to infinity... twice.
😂😂😂 why am I with this .
HERES-

Weshammer: “it’s 364 days until spooky season, so it’s the perfect time to start telling spooky stories” 😅
The star to me sounds like it was fed upon by a Ctan and like the one that caused incredible pain to the Necromtyr, it causes madness in those who come near by venting its grief.
There could be a possibility thats the necrons original home system but it could just be a whole ctan hiding maybe but good theory

Me: "But they're just little guys who want to go into the ball-pit"
love the idea that Watchers are some lovecraftian horror in tiny package
As for the idea of an STC, the Custodes did fix the Imperial Fists Phalanx with some ancient tech.
Girl power!
They did? What book was that in?
@@maxstr Pretty sure it was in Reagents Shadow. At the end when its wrapping up and leaving off that Sol system is once again at highest defence level. If not that the 3rd book of the Vaults of Terra series.
@@kccustodes2618 it's been a while since I read that one. I wish they would go into more detail on STC stuff
@@maxstr They didn't say STC, it was worded like that they opened the dark vaults and brought something secret to Phalanx that restored it. Maybe it even said restored it to levels not since Dorn was alive? Anyways, they didn't say STC but it crossed my mind at the time.
I'm sure I've said it before, but my favorite videos of yours are the mystery/horror ones

I really wish we knew more about the watchers. Being a dark angel player and fan boy for years, I have always been hungry for more details.
I sometimes forget that Wes' sunny disposition can balance the grim dark.
Morbid and creepifying, but as long as they do it quietly.
Unlike Kräkus. He's always yelling from the ditch.

The tiny robed dudes sound like Terry Pratchett's 'Auditors' from his Discworld novels. Seems like the have the same kind of function as well ;)
It is 40k, so everything is taken from some other IP...
I always picture jawas when the watchers are mentioned
This video made my day better. That part with the changeling and the watcher is one of the coolest things I have ever heard about in this setting.Thank you and I hope you have a good day👍
The Dark Cells is where they've been hiding Kitten
Great work! Rocking the Frost Punk in the first video. Love it! I’d kill for a crossover.
Fr the first few panic attacks make you think your heart is dying
Thought: What if the Siren Star has an undiscovered C'tan feeding on it? We don't really know how the Necrontyr made contact with the Star Gods, so maybe this is how the discovered the C'tan? C'tan also find souls delicious so maybe that's why it lures in voidsmen?
What is locked inside The Dark Cells...
Half-Life 3.
absolutely love all the Frostpunk artwork used in the first part
The Siren Star has so many possibilities. A c'tan hiding from the necrons in a star that it has already drained, desperately trying to call living things to it to stave off starvation, a daemonic entity bound to it calling out for pretty much the same reason, some other kind of cosmic or warp based parasite, maybe even a time based anomaly similar to what happened at Hadex. If weird sht can happen once, I don't see why it couldn't happen again.
There's a short story confirming that the legion of the damned is the lost fire hawks legion after being exposed to the warp for an extended period of time. They can induct new space marines, but they aren't dead.
OMG Thank you love those kinds of videos. Keep up the good work man

Literally shut the fuck up. It's not the first time there's been a retcon, and the authors all wanted female custodians for years but weren't allowed until now
Nothing wrong with change but they did it in such a dumb way. Could've been done with some 40k finesse
So i know there's some vague lore about how holy terra isn't earth, and considering how much information regarding ancient humans were lost to the imperium. I'd like to think the siren star is the old earth star system and the call is some kind of ai loyal to ancient humanity ( not modern) mourning the loss of all that was

Nice story about the frozen skull pit world. Lovecrafts influence in this mountains of madness inspired tale is blatant and well executed. This would be perfect for a pen&paper session👍
Have Sisters of Silence interacted with the Watchers in the Dark? It could be that they are to Sisters, what Daemons are to Psykers. A creature made of the very essence of what gives the Sister/Psyker their powers.
It could also be they come through our reality from a different direction than the Warp, with the Mirror-Caliban being their equivalent of the Warp. It's fairly obvious that the Old King in that reality is an aspect of The Emperor, or possibly an avatar of the Imperium with the hungering shadows being all the forces which seek to destroy it. This means that Big E joined three realms together, Warp, Forest, and Material planes. I wonder if the Forest is a part of the weave, the skin between reality and the Warp that the Lion can somehow enter and leave at will akin to moving via the Webway.
Honestly, weshammer should really start a podcast. With a voice like that wes could make thousands so that he won't be forced to make sponsor deals with shady sponsors like betterhelp

Crackpot theory about the vaults beneath The Emperor's Palace. It's the men of stone, that surrendered willingly. The eep sense of unease and dread is because the men of stone are so advanced and complex that they have a full consciousness but still no presents in the warp, so they act as massive blanks
