Joas, you have the BEST attitude! All that rain and mud would make most people very grouchy! I would be a crazy person if I had to hang out in that mess.
It takes a lot of patience and perseverance to build a house right there in the wet weather. It looks like a sturdy foundation. What a wonderful opportunity for the family to build their own house.
Joas sounds very calm even though having to go through the aggravation of all the rain and mud, and weather not cooperating.

You are teaching your boys so well! Positive in every thing you do and the way you train them! The same goes for Priscilla, too! You are wonderful parents! She is teaching the girls to be wonderful cooks and to do everything well around the house! I know you have taught your children to belong to God! When it comes for spouses for your children when they grow up, I’m not sure how they will find those who will be appropriate for themselves, but I pray that they will! 🙏

Oh how precious those kids faces were. I just loved that. I'm glad you are so experienced in the ICF and the Cabin Building and most of all you have such a calm even demenor. I am the same, or at least try to be. It is what it is and being upset helps nothing. You just roll with it and keep on doing your best.

I also wanted to say how perfectly in sync, almost methodically, your family works together. It's just magnificent to watch how you all help one another to build your home.
Because Alaska has nearly total sun in the summer, the vegetables they do grow can be rather large.
Probably a lot to do with their Amish upbringing. ❤️

I love watching this. My grandparents homesteaded just outside Wasilla starting in 1950. I grew up there too, and even attended school on their old homestead. The valley is a wonderful place.

Awesome fish. that's my home The reds are good and plentiful now. Next month the silvers come in, that is some real fishing. Hope you can make it down for some of that.. I hope the weather clears off so your build goes easier. August is usually wet but you never know. I love that you have taught your kids the value of work and they are so capable.

We do basements and yes the rain can make things miserable. Being in the mud gets very discouraging. A telebelt would have been nice for you to do footings. You could have got the rock in the same day as well. Glad to see the progress you are making.
