I already found it dumb that Cream even resorted to one after being far more realistic about the situation in Battle when Emerl went Insane but that it actually works is properly even worse because with the explanation given here does this open the giant question Why didn't Gemerl just activate Air plain mode before going into battle and WHY didn't there just do the same for Metal so that he could also go? Zavok also admitted to his crew they could only control about a dozen Zombots at a time, which had thrown me off at the time. I had assumed their control was limitless. Ian was establishing even then that the Zetia aren't as powerful as we thought when it comes to extremely powerful as free thinking robots
This was definitely a shocker. I thought the cover art showing Cream getting infected was bait, but it turns out that Cream really did get infected in the issue. I do like the interactions between Cream and Gemerl, and how they worked together to defeat Zeena and grab the Chaos Emerald. Cream is also a true hero to sacrifice herself to save the world, and with Gemerl staying by her side, that shows true friendship and loyalty. As for Amy and Tails against Zomom, it was pretty obvious that the pair were going to get away with the Chaos Emerald and leave Zomom with the Zombots. The only question is: how will Espio, Silver, Whisper, and the Babylon Rogues get out of their battles with Zazz, Zor, and Master Zik? And how will the confrontation with Zavok go for Sonic and Eggman, and what has happened to Rouge, Orbot, and Cubot? In case anyone wants to know, the next issue will come out on April 8th! As for what's going on in the real world, stay safe!
The characters were awesome and the fights were awesome. Seeing Cream infected by the "agent " hurt me. The T2 analogy is a good one because I felt that too. Zeena is a Zeti everyone can love and hate. 8 out of 10 for me.
A great issue with some back-and-forth results. I liked the combination of Amy and Tails against Zomom, and I especially loved the fight of Cream and Gemerl against Zeena. While one fight was based on intelligence versus stupidity+strength, the other was based a lot on emotions. Cream was the key factor for Gemerl to cut control from the female Zeti, but using her Chaos Emerald-powered tendrils to somehow control the robot was smart, BUT hurting Cream was the greatest mistake of her life - not only she was slammed to the ground but also tossed to the Zombot horde (if this could happen in a game cutscene, her scream would be of pain). Cream has grown as a freedom fighter and Gemerl has grown to become closer to its Archie counterpart, and that is a plus. 2 Chaos Emeralds down, 5 to go. How they will cover the next 3 Zeti in one issue? Since in 2 issues the saga will be over and Zavok will strike down Angel Island, this will be the fight for the world. I can't wait!
I can understand why you substituted the “V” word with “Agent.” Considering what’s happening all over our world and with this Metal “Agent” Saga happening all over Sonic’s world, the coincidence and timing is hard to believe. Hurting Cream was Zeena’s worst and mortal sin in the franchise and Gemerl made her pay with her life. As strong as the Zetis are, they’re still organic and not immune to the Metal Agent. That analogy you made between Gemerl and Cream with Terminator 1 through 3 was an excellent touch that I didn’t realize until you brought it out. Good job there. Tails have been partnering and working quite frequently with Amy besides Sonic. Makes sense really since both Sonic and Amy are hedgehogs and are the two lead protagonists of IDW Sonic, one male and the other female. And with both Sonic and Amy, Tails resorted to using the town’s gates against enemy forces to his team’s advantage with 100% success. Why change what’s been working, huh? There were a couple of shots of Amy’s underwear in this issue due to her agility and movements while in battle against Zomom and the Zombots. But the colorist colored her underwear black instead of keeping it canonically white for censorship purposes no doubt. While Sonic and his friends are battling the Metal Agent terrorizing their world, we have to deal with the Corona Agent terrorizing our world, forcing IDW to go on hiatus for who knows how long, which is unfortunate, but understandable. Since we don’t want any of them and the IDW Sonic comic team getting infected either, let’s all hope for the best and that we make it through this pandemic. Until the hiatus is lifted allowing the comics to resume, stay safe, healthy and keep washing your hands and staying clean at all times. Take care.

Plus, it was very obvious and just had to be pointed out since it wasn’t made secret. And I don’t think there any uncolored versions available online unless you can find any that were photoshopped.
Just to correct you regarding Gemerl, Gemerl was only reprogrammed by Eggman. Tails removed the influence from Gemerl at the end of Advance 3 and after the credits you can see G-merl is free to do whatever he wants but chooses to stay with Cream at the end. So it's not like Terminator where G-merl has to follow Creams orders, he just doesn't want to see Cream cry.
My heart dropped when Cream became infected. I couldn't believe that happened after everything she's been through. I'm glad Gemerl choose to stay with her.
Excellent IDW Sonic comic review video, this issues sure was awesome and I like the Terminator 2 analogy you brought into the picture when talking about the relationship between Cream and Gemerl, I never noticed that it was like the bond between John Connor and the T-800 in the movie. As expected, it's too difficult for the Deadly Six to control the zombies without Chaos Emerald. They are totally different from Eggman's robots. I'm looking forward to how Sonic and Eggman will face Zavok in the next phase.

Honestly, I'm hoping the comics don't get cancelled. The series SO good right now and to have it end now as a result of COVID-19 would be a travesty. Archie ended on a cliffhanger that could've been prevented, but this would be a kick in the ass. That aside, You know how long I have waited to see the Zeti get their asses handed to them? Zeena the diva in particular getting literally thrown like a rag doll. Twice. With the second being the one that sealed her fate. Cream herself may have screwed things up initially, but I can look past that. Especially in regards to how It makes me, and many others feel about the situation in real life, making it seem like we are in her shoes. Zomom's defeat I have to say was predictable. I was happy they used the same gate trick in issue 1 (perhaps the location in Issue 1 WAS Vista View). That aside, Zomom is both dumb and gluttonous, so taking him on wasn't exactly a threat. That said, the interactions between Gemerl and Cream felt so organic that it is kinda heartwarming, especially when Gemerl threw the emerald at the portal and carried cream off into the sunset. Gemerl may have had a rough start, but you cannot deny he went through quite a lot of development over the course of this saga. It feels SO organic.

Its comics like this that make me realize how much I miss the dark and edginess from the Shadow the Hedgehog game. I kind of wish they brought that back ONLY for dark stories like this! Don't know if you want to touch on it at all, but Central City is the capital of the United Federation, and where Amy moved to after Chaos destroyed Station Square. The city resembles how it looked in Battle, Tails face house and all, but it also appeared in Shadow's game. And in the previous issue when pulling up Angel Island the planet kinda looked like Earth. I wonder if you have any thoughts about this amd would want to share them at all.
While I am not Megabeatman would I like to mention that these kinds of continuity problems popped up a lot in the series so far another good example would be the presents of Final Egg and Pyramid cave given that both places are clearly located on the "Human World" in the Adventure games. Its a problem that popped up because the 2 worlds thing was hardly ever specified and makes no real sense with the background of almost all of the pre 2008 games which showed numerous times that everything happened on one world. As for the Shape of the planet that is properly the least problematic thing given that Sonic Forces map screens resembles earth.

Excellent IDW Sonic comic review video, this issues sure was awesome and I like the Terminator 2 analogy you brought into the picture when talking about the relationship between Cream and Gemerl, I never noticed that it was like the bond between John Connor and the T-800 in the movie. But here’s the thing, in the Terminator series, we’re dealing with a rogue A.I that wants to rule the world while in the Sonic series we’re dealing with a madman and a bunch of other bad guys.

I actually have a different scenario of this happening instead of tails coming with Amy he came with gmerl and metal sonic came with Amy and when cream gets infected this happens
Gmerl:take the chaos emerald to angel island
Tails:... throws the chaos emerald in the portal
Gmerl: what are you doing tails
Tails: doing this my way. gmerl you look for any more survivors I will stay with cream
Gmerl:primary objective protect cream
Cream:listen to tails gmerl
Gmerl: objective find survivors stay safe cream
Tails: picks up cream and gets infected
Cream: tails why
Tails: some people are worth sacrificing for
Tails: gives cream one last kiss

As expected, it's too difficult for the Deadly Six to control the zombies without Chaos Emerald. They are totally different from Eggman's robots. I'm looking forward to how Sonic and Eggman will face Zavok in the next phase.

If Eggman had bothered to test the Metal Virus more instead of rushing it, I honestly think that he could've won.
That's what you get when you start to care more about making the guy who keeps stopping you from taking over the world miserable than actually taking over the world.
Honestly, I'm hoping the comics don't get cancelled. The series SO good right now and to have it end now as a result of COVID-19 would be a travesty. Archie ended on a cliffhanger that could've been prevented, but this would be a kick in the ass.
That aside, You know how long I have waited to see the Zeti get their asses handed to them? Zeena the diva in particular getting literally thrown like a rag doll. Twice. With the second being the one that sealed her fate.
Cream herself may have screwed things up initially, but I can look past that.
Especially in regards to how It makes me, and many others feel about the situation in real life, making it seem like we are in her shoes.
Zomom's defeat I have to say was predictable. I was happy they used the same gate trick in issue 1 (perhaps the location in Issue 1 WAS Vista View). That aside, Zomom is both dumb and gluttonous, so taking him on wasn't exactly a threat.
That said, the interactions between Gemerl and Cream felt so organic that it is kinda heartwarming, especially when Gemerl threw the emerald at the portal and carried cream off into the sunset.
Gemerl may have had a rough start, but you cannot deny he went through quite a lot of development over the course of this saga. It feels SO organic.

They canceled some episode of Pokemon due to an earthquake, because it was about a pokemon using earthquake attacks. They thought it would be insensitive to air due to the bad timing.
I hope they don't cancel the arc, due to pandemic plot line.

Its comics like this that make me realize how much I miss the dark and edginess from the Shadow the Hedgehog game. I kind of wish they brought that back ONLY for dark stories like this!

Don't know if you want to touch on it at all, but Central City is the capital of the United Federation, and where Amy moved to after Chaos destroyed Station Square. The city resembles how it looked in Battle, Tails face house and all, but it also appeared in Shadow's game. And in the previous issue when pulling up Angel Island the planet kinda looked like Earth. I wonder if you have any thoughts about this amd would want to share them at all.
While I am not Megabeatman would I like to mention that these kinds of continuity problems popped up a lot in the series so far another good example would be the presents of Final Egg and Pyramid cave given that both places are clearly located on the "Human World" in the Adventure games.
Its a problem that popped up because the 2 worlds thing was hardly ever specified and makes no real sense with the background of almost all of the pre 2008 games which showed numerous times that everything happened on one world.
As for the Shape of the planet that is properly the least problematic thing given that Sonic Forces map screens resembles earth.
If eggman could make a device to regain control of the traitor robots why hasn't he done that yet also wouldn't guarding also involve watching eggman. And why would eggman be allowed anywhere near the shuttle
Another thing even if you couldn't send in knuckles then just take someone from one of the other team and send them to fight zeena
Eggman can't just conjure that up with limited resources; they're on an ancient floating island for crying out loud!

Well they mainly based it on who would best suit the deadly six. Tails and Amy are smart so they used that to their advantage against zomnom

I legit had to stop reading when Cream told Gemerl to go while she covered her eyes.
Cream was sooooo annoying in Sonic X. Especially her voice. Even the Chaotix were annoying.
But they really did these characters justice in the comic.

ironic, the comics are making a better story then the games are. while i don't like Gemerl's "My friends are my power" cliche; i do appreciate the writers committing to a darker tone here.
I'd say more of the "robot learns to care" cliche; you gotta admit, him going rage mode on Zeena for hurting Cream is pretty endearing.

This is the Sonic fanbase you're talking about; it's pretty much split on everything about it. What the franchise's tone should be is one of the biggest splits; some prefer it light-hearted, while others prefer a more serious tone. Also, no one here is saying Sonic is just for kids; TRUST ME!
I mean I did see a few say there quite the book because it to dark for what there thing Sonic should be but nothing really major.
I mean I have massiv problems with the arc myself but these aren't born from tone but from the actual writing.
The way to defeat Zavok is Obvious. Just have sonic touch im. Once he goes robo, nab the gem
