after watching all your crime videos I've realized that the main problem w korea, japenese and other asian countries where most of these cases take place is that the criminals don't get enough punishment. Strict laws need to be reinforced regardless of what humanitarians say because at the end of the day its the victims family that suffers the most, the only solution is an eye for eye, leg for leg. if you killed one person you basically killed the whole of humanity.
Thai polices are so good at catching these brutal crimes. If this case happened in Thailand the wife would never get away. The bad thing is they are easily corrupted by bribes. Sigh…
Correction: step sibling vs. half sibling. Ondoni teacher's half brother (biological son of her father) was killed by her step brother (no blood relation) The killer killed his mother and his half brother (biological son of his mother). Step siblings became related because of the marriage of their parents but not related by blood. The 14-year old son of his mother is his half sibling not just a step brother.
I am a dad of a 7 year old boy that was kidnapped to South Korea. Korea is a partner country of "Hague convention" that is supposed to promptly return children that were illegally taken across the border. FBI was trying to book a flight to Korea to rescue the child. However, Korean government stopped them saying this is a civil matter and because it is not criminal in Korea, the dad should go through civil court. (Especially because Korea is a signatory state of Hague convention) I did. Korea took 2 years to make a final decision that this boy has to PROMPTLY return to the US. But they didn't prepare an enforcement mechanism. I got a total of 10 court orders just in Korea(including the Korean Supreme court order). And my son Bryan's 3 week trip became a 5 year separation from me. I talked to multiple Korean officials and although they admit the problem, nobody is taking responsibility. They ask the child who doesn't even remember dad "Do you wanna stay here, or do you wanna go to Dad?" And if he says he wants to stay, they go home. They say it's too late. "He doesn't remember you, so what do you want us to do?" Korea calls this respecting the child. On the other hand US court orders clearly states that the mother has serious concerns of mental issues and she is a threat to the child. The patenting evaluator said this is a form of child abuse. Korea ignores this problem. They just say we can't do anything. I love Korea and I wanted to trust that they can respect the law, but I am at a point that I have to take this into my own hands and raise public awareness. Last time I protested at Pike Place Market, and this time I went to Korean Consulate in Seattle. [Watch Video](th-cam.com/video/4wXAvR_J6RI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=gY5cZd-HM1ycaGdg) I would appreciate it if you can spread the words, and tell people. If we can't bring Bryan back, no children will be safe from being abducted to South Korea. Thank you.

I always get excited when I get notifs of a new episode. So thank you for this. That being said, this case is going to be talked about for a long time, I think. The profiler made good points and those really are intriguing. I just hope that the initial sentencing are right and the wife is not the one who planned it all, or else they might be letting out a cunning criminal by 2025. Thank you so much again, Megan and team. This is wonderful work!
There is absolutely no way someone who committed such a cruel, greed-driven, and premeditated, could have any interest in changing for the better. This is sick and the perpetrators need to be gone from society forever.

No, that’s all on them and them alone. Money has no magical properties to cause someone to commit evil acts. Money is nothing more than pieces of paper with artificial value. It’s greed that drives someone to commit evil acts. Not money itself.

I mean that's how the law works. The person who commits the crime gets the heavy punishment. The person who suggests it is just that - making a suggestion. It feels unfair, but one could also just as easily implicate someone who isn't guilty if the law goes the other way of public opinion.

What is an accomplice? It is unfortunate to see the loophole. A person who knows that a theft, robbery or any crime is to be coducted and does not report. And a person who actively participate in such hedious crime murder for theft. And right after such brutal attempt where the child is not spared goes for shopping with that money and then uses the daughters to manipulate public opinion only receives 8 years. What justice!
The mother abandoned her own son when he was a child and had the grandmother raise him, then when the mother got remarried she was living with her stepkids. That has to be a double dose of trauma for the son. Then when he couldn't get financial help he felt extra betrayed and started to snap. This was clearly not just about money, I don't see how you can even frame it like that. It's also curious how she only remarried after the son turned 18, I wouldn't be surprised if that was related to some sort of payment mechanism she was receiving from the son's family or deceased biological father.
