    During lockdown in the UK I photographed all the ‘lost’ items I found on my daily exercise walks….it’s surprising the things people drop unknowingly….I’m still doing this on a daily basis and it encourages me to carry a camera and simply record my day….as a 68 year old amateur it now charts my daily life and the things I see and enjoy…..🎉

      That’s a great way to force you shoot every day Peter. Will you focus on a specific theme or story that you can turn into a project ?

      @@AskMOTT … I usually have a few ideas in my head depending on the time of year or weather, but I try to get to small local events and do street photography as people expect photographers to be there to record what’s happening , so I have a head start and a reason to be there…makes life easier!..📸🎄

    This is my most difficult hurdle. What to shoot? This gives me ideas. Thank you!

      Indeed it is Herbert because we all make excuses , but getting the ball rolling by starting close to home is the way to go :).

    another great video. I have done a couple a personal project and you are right they are super helpful especially when you are stuck in a rut like I tend to get with my photography from time to time.

    Thanks Justin, now I feel more inspired. Lovely self portraits. I’m gonna try documenting my Chinatown Singapore neighbourhood.

      That’s a great project Andrew, good luck w it. Be disciplined and consistent with and start broad then narrow it down as the story becomes more clear to you.

    Hi Justin enjoyed watching your new video over my morning coffee … gave me food for thought …. my mum is flying in this afternoon for her first visit back in KL after pandemic .. maybe I’ll do some home work on documenting her trip … after all I never know how long she will be able to fly long hall in future … thanks for the inspiration…. Geoff

    As always thank you so much for your advice. True , I can't agree more.
    I travel frequently and photograph these places. I go back to the same place each year and document the people.
    However, I hardly photograph my own town. The biggest problem with this is I know I'm rusty when I arrive at the location (I'm not a pro but you know what I mean, right ?). My defense is that I am more than happy when I photograph just one photograph that makes me happy and convinces me keep that one photograph each year. Quality over quantity.

    Challenge accepted sir! I appreciate it! How many photos per project in your opinion?

    • @AskMOTT
      @AskMOTT  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on the project Matt, but aim for somewhere between 15-25 without any redundancy. Good luck!

    I was at the grocery store and they had a magazine with the front page saying the most memorable photos of all time and I could swear the rhino photo they shared on the cover was yours. I just can’t remember the name of the magazine.

    • @AskMOTT
      @AskMOTT  ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably not, there is a famous Nat Geo photo of the last male northern white rhino, mine is of the of last females.
