Dirty dishes in the pool area: YOU brought the plates out there with YOUR choice of food and YOU sat your butt on the lounger to eat. When YOU are finished it’s up to YOU to get up and make things right. It’s getting really irritating how people can’t “adult” anymore.
I would love it if all Carnival lines - Carnival, Costa, Princess, etc. shared the loyalty program so you could get credit on any of them, like Hotels do! You stay in any Hilton property, regardless of the brand, you get points for Hilton. So if I sail Carnival or Princess they should count toward each other.
Be careful what you wish for. Carnival often times can't honor the priority boarding/tendering or embarking because there are too many platinum members on board.
I’m just here for the free laundry! Every Journeys cruise we take there are too many platinum/diamond guests so we never get the priority boarding/debarkation but it’s not been too bad overall
I know Royal Caribbean / Celebrity share the status which is great. I'd like to see Carnival do the same thing for all their sister brands.
I totally agree! Doing this would ultimately bring them even more business because it would encourage people to cruise across multiple brands.
Organizing your dirty dishes on the table while at the buffet is called pre-bussing. It makes the job of whomever cleans the table easier.😁
Actually. No. You probably organized the dishes the opposite inefficient way than the kind crew member prefers it.
@@Tee55118as a former server most folks who pre-bus their table are usually current or former servers and know precisely what to do.
Interesting to note that it wasn’t just Oceania that came to the rescue. Passengers on board received a call for shoes and clothing for those rescued. One of those situations that definitely restores my faith in mankind during these turbulent times ❤
That's amazing and wonderful!
We wash the room service dishes and pack them in a suitcase for souvenirs. Problem solved. Did that ship charge them each $2000 for the infirmary visit?
Love this
The biggest issue with dirty plates for me is when no one comes by to pick them up. I'll find a "bus station" and drop them there.
I always take them to the bus station or rinse and leave stacked in the room
I hate dirty dishes in the hallway.
Cruising solo I made elite after 46 nights by doing a number of 2,3 & 4 night cruises back to back and side to side. Going solo automatically gives you 2 cruise points each time.
@@janicedean4113 yeah ... not true. I just did a solo for 9 days on NCL and didn't get double points. I think it was because it's a last minute cruise and I got a killer deal ... about $400 to Alaska.
I made a comment about dishes….😵💫😵💫😵💫
Unfortunately THATS where we have to put them when we receive room service. The room stuart's actually hate when dirty dishes are left in the rooms, it's a completely different crew that goes around collecting the dirty dishes from the hallways. 🤷🏽♀️
You can call room service to have them remove the plates from your room. Hate seeing dishes in hallway too.
It’s not just Friday the 21st, it’s check in day for me!!!!!!! Mardi Gras here we come!!
Have a great time! If you haven't been on Mardi Gras before, let me tell you it's awesome. My husband and I love her and have been on Mardi Gras several times.
I lived that ship cheesecake us real cheesecake lol
I'm loving "Dancing Tony"!! I think he's a keeper and needs to make many more appearances in upcoming videos! 😂😂
I personally love NCL's loyalty program, especially starting at Platinum. You get two free specialty dining meals, a free bag of laundry, plus discounts on internet packages and shore excursions. A lot of other stuff too. I don't know if any other cruise line does it, but if you get to ambassador you can also get a free stateroom upgrade and then also a free 7 day cruise. I love NCL's program.
At the buffet I neatly stack them at the end of our table.
As far as dirty dishes, I never use room service, so that isn't an issue. I often have dirty dishes in the pool area. I have found that the attendants out there who serve drinks are always quick to take them away.
My loyalty goal is Diamond on Royal Caribbean. I'm going solo next April/May with a Transatlantic followed by Greek Isles. That will give me 42 points and we'll over what I need to achieve Diamond status. I'm not a big drinker, usually a couple a day on a ship, never at home. The 4 free drink per day will totally quench my alcohol thirst
On princess you just call and they cone get them
Favorite perk; laundry!
This Princess Loyalty has my wife and me thinking....... "Things that make you hmm.." shout out Ludacris
I hate leaving dishes in the hallway, but on RC I called room service and was told to put them in the hallway. 🤷
Yep it is what they want you to do; however, on rocky seas with narrow hallways, the trays slide. Then people trip over them due to the boat moving. It really causes a dangerous situation. Or people in scooters/wheelchairs can't get by.
I just leave them neatly stacked in my room for the steward to remove when he comes by to tidy up my cabin.
We ask our room steward
I even feel uncomfortable doing this in hotels. It just seems so odd it me.
Once our cabin attendant moved our room service dishes to the hall when he did turndown. Since then i always pop them out to the hall.
I just hit Platinum with Carnival on my last sailing, and priority embark and immediate access to my cabin is awesome! Definitely my favorite perk.
Hope you used the free laundry too. I only bring a small amount of clothes now even on 15 day cruise
I pick cruises based on cost, availability and ports. Sometimes the ship is a factor but loyalty doesn’t sway me nearly as much as my wallet and level of service.
Yes dirty dishes is a huge question on what to do with them. Thanks for thoughtfulness to this situation
“This kid is going on a cruise” is now forever stuck in my head! ❤😊
They may scour the corridors for dirty dishes, but my kid got her first drunk on Carnival picking up half empty bottles of champagne and drinks left in the hallway. 😂
😬💀
Gross (but funny)
That's not only dangerous, that's disgusting. Where were you???
@@hollypotter6989wow, Judgemental Judy
No. You should be WATCHING your kids. This is exhibit A as to why!
Safe travels Tony. Enjoy your cruise! Thanks for another great update.
I don’t love putting dishes in the hall either but they come fast to get them. Also I’ve stacked them in the room and the steward will take them when they clean the room. It’s a weird thing to stress about. Also, there are bus people at the pool too.
We were on the panorama in April and somebody had stuck there plate underneath a lounge chair at the back pool. Next thing you know, there was a huge swarm of bees over there and they had to get somebody in a suit to come out and vacuum them all up and stuff. It was crazy!
I was sitting out there on that cruise, when a crewman used several CO2 fire extinguishers to kill the bees. They were applauded when they finished.
That's so disgusting that bees were sucked up and died because someone was too lazy to put their plate up!!!!
Thanks for the cruise news and your views
For dishes in the cabin, yes, Disney and Royal both want you to leave them in the hall. That's where they go, just try not to put them in the path of people walking. Never seen it be a big deal on either of those cruise lines as they are generally pretty quick to come along and clean them up.
We were on Disney last year and they asked us to leave them in the room.
@@sharonlarsen3642 I guess it varies bc our attendant asked us to leave it in the hall.
At the buffet if there is a podium that has a dirty dish tub, which is often the case we set our dirty dishes in those usually able to find one near the pool area as well. Room service we put our tray outside our door and make sure it’s not pushed out into the hallway. I’ve seen on many cruises at like two in the morning. A little trolley comes through and is picking up all the dirty dishes.
Have a wonderful trip and enjoy the fun and blue waters Safe journey
Loved the pink horse guy and song! But Princess may create their own problem by offering an escalated points program. Royal did double points at the restart after the big C and now people complain that not enough room in the lounges and limited availability in the costal kitchen etc. just a thought…
Thanks Tony, safe travels.🎉
Hi Toni. I’m a Norwegianer and when I took a cruise on the Jade, I noticed that most passengers were 80+ years old. I was 50 at that time, so I felt like a kid. The most extreme action events we saw on board were the throwing of beans and making animals with the towels. I guess the Jade being a smaller ship, attracts older passengers, I don’t know. But that was many years ago. Today might be different. And another note is that I am platinum on NCL and I get water, one laundry bag, a few discounts on stuff and 2 specialty dining for 2. So it’s cheaper to buy those things than taking 12 cruises !!!! Ah … and there have always been dirty plates left outside some cabin doors in the morning on NCL ships.
I love to see you and Jenny cruising together! Can’t wait to see the vid.
Have a great time on your cruise!
Have a wonderful cruise. I look forward to watching your adventure 🎉
As always, a great video Tony! I love how you let us know what’s going on in the cruise world and the humor you add!
I agree with the comment about not liking dirty dishes in the hallway! I wish carnival would get the medallion tech
Enjoy your cruise Tony and Jenny
Safe travels and smooth sailing Tony and Jenny B! Have a wonderful time. Looking forward to hearing about this next cruise.
I love your sense of humor Tony. Enjoy your cruise
loved Jade, especially O'Sheehan's.
Happy Friday Tony... Hope you and Jenny have an amazing cruise. 🎉
Love the dirty dishes discussion. Thank you! 🙂
Wishing you and Jenny a great time on your cruise. I hope the tables are good to you both! Have fun and safe travels!
Good afternoon, have a great cruise! 🥰
Having worked in hospitality, the standard rule is to put your dishes in the area of your door in the hall. Housekeeping does not pick up room service or other dining dishes.
Have fun on your cruise Tony and Jenny! I just booked my 7th and my 5th solo cruise on Princess for my birthday next year. Second time on Princess.
When I order room service I always ask the person who delivers what I should do with the dishes. They say leave them in the hallway which I actually don’t like doing.
Ask room stewards too
We’ve got 3 booked. 2 Jewel and 1 on Joy. Have fun on the Jade!😊
Safe travels to you and Jenny B.
Enjoy your cruise ❤
First off, the unicorn addition is HILARIOUS!!!! Well played! The Dad jokes… 😂 OMG! I had to share that one at work! 😂😂😂😂
My wife and I love NCL. We always had over the top service. Tony have a great getaway with Jenny B !
For dishes on the pool decks, it depends on the ship. On Disney ships, they have trash cans with a platform on them specifically for people to put their dirty dishes on them. They fully expect, bc they have food service right nearby the pools, people to have dishes while they are in pool chairs or tables near the pools. They have made accommodations for that. Also they are usually servers walking round and will gladly take your dishes away for you. Same on Royal with the servers coming around. They are very quick to notice a dirty cup or dish on the floor or chair or even in your hand and will very kindly offer to take it for you. I have not noticed dishes being a problem on either of those cruise lines on any cruise I've been on for them. Now I did notice this be an issue on occasion on a Princess ship I was on a few years ago where they did not clean the pool area that often and the dishes and trash did pile up from time to time.
Great video ❤❤❤❤
Going on the Jade in November, can't wait to see how your cruise goes!
I found, at least on the ships I've been on, that there are garbage and recycle recepticals on the pool / buffet deck. These recepticals usually have a sheltered spot on the top where I put dishes.
Love the pink unicorn 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I organize my dirty dishes. Love your Dad jokes.
Keep the dad jokes coming!
Recently disembarked my first Carnival cruise and the kids ate in the Cabin a lot. I cleaned the dishes off and brought them back to the lido deck. On Disney we leave them outside the cabin door
On Royal I stack my dishes on the dresser in the cabin. Room steward told me to do this.
As someone who is cruising with Princess in September i appreciate the Accelerator Program 😊
Yay news!
Have fun
Have a wonderful time on your next cruise trip with Jenny B! Dishes out side my door on Carnival.
Loved the Jade! my travel agency conference was on her last January! great ship!
We carry our used pates to the nearest wait person station; there are plenty out on the pool deck.
I love the lighthearted dad jokes from Tony. 😊 makes me smile every time🚢🌊
You two enjoy your cruise! We are leaving Monday for Alaska!
Yay! So glad you’re cruising NCL. That’s our Cruise Line of choice and I don’t feel like they get enough of love. We cruised on the jade out of Port Canaveral back in May and it was fabulous!
So excited that you are going on the NCL Jade! I NEED the inside scoop, we are set to go on July 6th 🎉
I can’t stand seeing dirty dishes in the hallways! I leave them in my cabin.
On Disney ships, around the pool deck, there are numerous large double trash receptacles and a platform on top to place dishes.
I love DCL.
Enjoy you your cruise on NCL Jade. She was my first ship ever back in 2016 and loved being on her
We always leave our dishes in the cabin. If we get too excessive with dining in our cabin, we tip extra for the trouble. Hate the dishes in the hall. I understand short term, but all day not so much.
Lots of news. Thanks. I was same as you getting Elite by Dec but not even knowing the news, I booked yesterday the British Isles for August 19 so that is good. Loved your dance and so happy for you and Jenny B to carooze together again. ❤
We are sailing the Jade in July. Cant wait to hear your ship report!!
If I eat while using the lounge chairs, I take my plates back to the Lido Restaurant and find a crew member to give it to..
Have a wonderful cruise Tony and Jenny B. Cant wait to see the vblog. Have a great weekend. Yes that is the rule on Carnival and Royal. We take our plates back down to buffet in the morning. Our stewarts have enough to do 😊
Really
Looking forward to your trip on the Jade as we'll be going in July
The worse was the ones by the pool. They used to be just people who took stuff for the buffet, now they have staff who will bring you food anywhere so there are more dishes out there and there USED to be staff picking up those dishes
My husband and I just arrived back in Ft. Lauderdale from our Celebrity Beyond cruise and the dishes on the pool deck did seem to be a bit much at times. The pool deck is literally right outside of the Oceanview Cafe. At least take your plates and cups back inside and put them on a table. Someone had left their plate and plastic cup outside one evening and a gust of wind caught the empty cup and blew it all over the deck. There was a crew member gathering dirty dishes but still. If you’re inside then leave it but if you take it out on the pool deck then at least take it in. As for the stacking of our dishes we also do that but it’s our choice. We have both been servers at one point or another and it’s just habit. Absolutely no expectation for anyone else to do it.
I have cruised on the Jade twice. Love the ship.
Yes I always organize our dirty buffet dishes and have on multiple occasions taken them to the dirty dish station if I can spot one. But as you were talking about this it dawned on me that the table busser would not know to wipe the table down, so we will stop clearing the table off. We do leave dishes outside our room on Carnival although we rarely get room service. It’s usually just cups. People need to at least cover the food with their napkin and not leave the food showing. If we are on the lido eating outside we would set our dishes on a table with other dirty dishes. NEVER leave them on a chair or under a chair. Some people are so messy I wonder if they are like that at home or are they just being unhelpful to the crew? 🤔
We just returned home from 11 days on the Jade. Beautiful ship, excellent staff, great food and entertainment. All the way forward on deck 11 is the bridge viewing area. Super cool and I have never seen that on a cruise ship before. Have fun and we’re looking forward to your review on the ship. No Dishes Please!
I am going on the Jade in late August. Love that class of ship. Just got off the Gem. They are older ships. They are less crowded and have no zippy activities. Fine with me. Enjoy. Looking forward to your review.
Tony, enjoy your voyage. ❤ Jade and Port Canaveral. It's raining, hope your season are calm
We finally decided to try the laundry on our last Princess cruise. My wife had been very scared that they would mess up our cloths but I sent my clothes out while she was doing something. And they came back perfectly and pressed. So it is definitely safe and a go to for now on.
We left our dirty dishes in the cabin on the table for our steward. We did ask him his thoughts and he said if there's room to leave with him to handle. He was truly amazing - shout out Iputu!!!
Hey hey hey LocaFam ❤ Top 18 million🎉
Dishes and glasses on the pool deck...same as in the buffet. Leave them nearby; they will be collected.
Regarding room-service dishes, yes, they go into the corridor. It's better from a health and sanitation perspective that your room steward not have to touch them, and (at least on Carnival) they have crew who circulate to pick them up.
Excited to see Jenny!!
Enjoy the Jade! Love the Spinnaker Lounge! Not a ton of activities on the Jade though. Sounds like you need to book some Princess cruises before the end of the year.
Woo Hoo double points!
I realized later on our 7 day MSC cruise that the room steward never took my ice water cups, and I got a big stack collected. Other lines always took them. I guess that I should have taken them back to the buffet.
🤣🤣🤣 u r so comical AND informative! Aaaaaannnnnddddd keep the pink dancing dude! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
We have been Elite on Princess for a while. I wish there was another tier with some added benefits.
Dirty dishes, done dirt cheap! Shout out Luda!😂
We are 4star with Hal love the perks and cruise discounts
My wife and I will be in port canaveral for our 25th anniversary cruise Monday we are so excited!!
Have not done any room service except during a quarantine and then had instructions for what to do. If we eat on the pool deck I return the dishes to buffet or a table with dirty dishes.
I actually like your idea of an open window like a cafeteria line to drop off my dishes. I always feel bad just leaving dirty dishes on the table. Also, those that take their dishes out to the pool area should have a drop off spot for the dishes.
We just cruised on the Jade in May!! It’s a great ship and crew! Snap a pic with miss Washy Washy flower girl!! She’s a sweetie!! Dr.L in the Spinnaker Lounge is pretty awesome hit him up for an old fashioned… well that’s if you fancy an old fashioned! Have fun 🎉
