Can’t believe I never heard/thought of that one before.
You know every time you go on a cruise one of the topics that is announced throughout the ship is never thrown anything overboard.
This rule is not to piss off passengers but is a rule to not only keeps the birds away from the ship by feeding them and then leaving their marks afterwards but for safety as well.
Rules are made not for your inconvenience but for your safety.
In a world full of so much hate and sadness, please don't stop the little bit of humor so many of us get to see. The Cruising Community is supposed to be a happy one.
As a dad and now, a grandpa I feel pretty confident in closing with this, I'm sure your dad is pretty darn proud of you and all you accomplished in your life.

I was on a boat ( yes a boat not a ship). On a smaller lake once and seen one seagull. Tossed one French fry out and within minutes it was like the movie the birds. We were swarmed. Lol. I'll never toss food to birds again anywhere.

Sea gulls don't shit! They poop!
But they feed the chickens at Half Moon Cay. They cut much of the foliage around the picnic tables to discourabe the chickens but now the sea gulls are causing havoc.

@@trekster9269 There are specific venues that *require* formal dress. Commonly, on mass market cruise lines, there isn't a strict requirement in the main dining room for formal attire on formal night.
Boo hiss on the lady feeding the birds, or any wild animals. They were on a cruise, they already knew that ahead of time. Also, it’s just common sense that animals in the wild should never be fed.

I am on vacation, I do not want to dress up, if you enjoy that great. If the Is a dress code I will either follow the rule or bypass that venue.

I'm not bypassing dinner on elegant night if the menu has something I want to partake of. Elegant night dress is a choice or opportunity to dress up but not required.

2. If you don't have formal attire and don't want to feel underdressed, eat at the buffet.

We learned on our first cruise that in order not to get seasick, never go on an empty stomach, and that is easy enough to follow on a cruise ship.
An antihistamine will dry up some of the inner ear liquid; and that has helped ME tremendously with motion sickness.

He asked us beforehand AND I SAID "As long as you're there I could care less BE YOU" And some of the kids were in shorts. It was an outdoor wedding. It was great because of the people Not what they had on!!!!!!

Formal night- it’s changed so much through the years!! You can usually tell about the dress by walking to the elevator and the dining room and see most dressed their best! I remember that even the buffet on Royal would not allow shorts at dinner!

It depends on the person re judgement. Formal night, we don’t go all out. Husband and son might wear a collared short sleeve shirt and my daughter and I will put on a dress but not fancy by any means. We like to relax on our cruises, dressing up isn’t what we’d consider relaxing.
Agreed. Your choice. Dress neat. But you paid for your cruise and have every right to not dress up. They tell you what's not allowed and I abide by that...but that's it.

I am a Red Cross volunteer and a Registered Nurse. Last Septemeber while volunteering at the Maui disaster I had to use the ER in Maui. I guarantee you my bill before insurance was more than $2000 dollars. Cruisers always make sure you have insurance. Blessings to all.

The Bliss is a huge ship! How could anyone get seasick while on it.
On our first Alaska cruise in 1994, we ran into some extremely rough weather after leaving Sitka. A drinks cart got away from a server and smashed into a wall. They were giving out sea sickness medication to any who wanted it. We didn’t need any.
Things were fine by the next morning. That was on NCL Windward, also the last cruise of the season
We were in Long Beach leaving out on a cruise I was feeding the birds from my balcony when a booming loud speaker told me and anyone who could hear Don't feed the birds. With my new information I stopped feeding the birds and went up to the lido deck.
Don’t ever change. Love the dad jokes, probably because I’m a dad. Also, I’ve never cared overly much what others were wearing in the dining room as long as its not an overpowering perfume that will alter or impede my dining experience.

The couple wearing the 90's clothes to the dining room maybe you should come over to the Flower Power Cruise we wear tye dye t shirts and bellbottoms to the dining room and everywhere else on the cruise for 7 days.
