  • We love our VelociRAX, but there's just a couple things about it that have always been a little annoying. Luckily, VelociRAX is always innovating and finding ways to perfect their products! These two new additions from them have made this the best mountain bike rack in our opinion!

    I want to add, they have different receiver size options for the drop hitch attachments too. I have a Ram 2500, and absolutely hated how the rack wobbles due to using a hitch reducer sleeve (2.5"-2"). Now, I have the drop hitch from VelociRax for the 2.5" receiver. Two problems solved!!

    The new integrated lock is amazing. Sure, I wouldn't trust my bikes on that overnight, but great for coffee and lunch runs etc.

    I wish I would have seen this video before I bought my Velocirax 6. I can not get my rear doors on my transit open no matter what position I put the rack in. great video.

    thanks for the review. I have a Highlander so tailgate no issue.. and the integrated lock sounds cool. Appreciate knowing if that these are the worst aspects and they dont really affect me, this is a great rack.

    They now have an integrated locking system for 4 bikes and up. I would like 1 for the 3 bikes.

      I would assume they will eventually come out with that option!

    you have a tray, why not just use a matt and load in there with front wheels hanging over the back?

    As far as the Locke situation goes… could you not just feed your own cable lock through that bar and have it on there all the time?

    If I could love this vid I would but I can only do a like… 👍 lol this is exactly what I was looking for. This company should give you guys free stuff for making this product more desirable than the rest.! These vids you guys are making are perfect for the company and the buyers looking for a great rack!!

    What about camp mode will it hit your tailgate

  • @pnwmotocross

    It’s a good rack. No doubt. But, the wheel straps leave your hands looking like a grease monkey. Fully loaded the release on the tilt is a pain in the ass. And loaded down with e-bikes it flops around like a sheet of paper in the wind.

    Hitch extension is one problem solved the other is to lock your lock to the rack and keep it there

    As a Ram 1500 driver with a Velocirax, you hit both my issues on the head. Outside of that, been loving the rack after a full year of use.

    What are your thoughts about the extender putting it opposite? The bottom will be on top? I'm just concerned about my vehicle close to the ground

  • @ToddBallard
    @ToddBallard ปีที่แล้ว

    Does the extender allow for camp mode, ie putting the rack all the way down on the ground, or would the rack hit the tailgate? Looks like they make 3 sizes of the extender which size is that?

    Now they just need to have the actual locking mechanism on the rack as well so I don’t have to remember where I put the padlock. :)

  • @jackiegammon2065
    @jackiegammon2065 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    First off, you can already buy an extension for your hitch to bring the rack out a bite. I'd also suggest that when you park in a parking spot, that you pull further ahead...that way your bikes aren't in the space behind you.

    That lock does nothing to protect your bike which will disappear in 2 minutes.

  • @andyhall9669

    The tail gate problem is irrelevant. The rack was made for SUVs and wagons. to clear every tail gate it would have to stick out way to far.

    The bikes take up too much space, going upright and off the back. Just get a 3 bike upright, hitch rack.

    Also, buy a hitch extension.

    This rack is the sickest rack I have seen but def not worth a thousand dollars.

    • @Blake_Cherubini
      @Blake_Cherubini  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I disagree. If you compare this rack to other similar racks and take into account the differences in design and quality, VelociRAX is hands down the best quality and for the value. 1up is damn near $1500. Yakima and North Shore are close in price but lack the quality.
