oh thanks man - this had me stumped for ages. That was a long evening spent trying to work something out. So my problem turned out to be 3 buttons in preferences TRACK / SYNC / REMOTE and it turns out the automation lines are grey but work!!!
5 years later this video helps us still, thank you! A feature i have not figured is slides and accent in ableton, would i be correct saying the following: Slide: write notes overlapping each other to create slide. Accent: play with velocity settings, im not sure.
@@rezzonator im just trying the mapping with my td3-mo and Rd9 however its not mapping when turning the cutoff for example. Im connected via usb and definatly synched in ableton, any ideas 😊

Thank you, nice video! But I think so that I've a problem with audio, cause I send the midi notes from my Arturia Analog Lab to Tb03, but on albeton I don't listen anything. This is what I do. I connect the TB03 with usb to Pc, then I open Albleton Live 9 Standard (session view), I create an Instrument Rack (on the "MIDI From" i select "MINILAB Input", then I insert the External Instrument, "MIDI to" --> TB-03 (Ch.16 because i selected the ch.16 on the machine options) and on "Audio From" --> No input because the machine is connect with USB (I think that the error is here on the last step). Thank you very much for the attention!
Assume you mean can you record the 'performance' of turning the cutoff and resonance etc and record that into Ableton. Yes you can as far as I am aware
@@rezzonator Thanks but not quite what I mean. The performance is capture as MIDI CC and embedded into midi clips. I can't find away of converting this to automation lanes for more refined or corrective adjustment. Any thoughts?
Pretty sure there is a way to do that. Let me have a think and I'll see whatvI can come up with. So you want to record knob turns from the hardware as midi cc but then have that recorded midi cc data show as an automation lane in Ableton so you can change the automation etc? Is that correct?
Having a bit of trouble trying this with my behringer TD-3. I can get sound and use it for MIDI perfectly. But I can't seem to map anything such as resonance, decay etc. I set up an instrument rack with an external instrument absolutely fine. Then click 'MIDI' and then turn on mapping, I then move the dials on my TD-3 and it doesnt map! Wondered if you could give me some advice as im currently tearing my hair out Thanks again
I believe that as its all analogue controls for cutoff etc they can't be controlled by midi or send any midi information for mapping....hence the reason you're mapping isn't working. The midi capabilities are therefore limited to just note on note off, start, stop and slide etc. Its similar with the Korg Volca Bass and the MAM MB33 303 clone
Is there a way to manually edit a macro without twiddling the knob on the tb-3? I'm trying to map Env Mod X, but whatever I do, it only 'sees' me inputting Env Mod Y. I just want to manually edit the macro from CC 13 (Y) to CC 12 (X) in Ableton.
No. Would work with any midi connection..usb or standard 5 pin midi as long as you have a midi interface of some sort between the computer and synth..usb to 5 pin midi etc.

Accent notes have a different CC code according to the spec sheet.. I don’t know how to make Ableton send those instead. Velocity has some effect but not one that affects the accent knob

So I created a bassline and I am trying to figure out how I can add and control cutoff, resonance, delay etc to my automation. I have launchkey mini mk3 and Arturia MicroFreak. Now, I can see the MicroFreak has cutoff and resonance and what not but when I map those on my track the sound does not change. Any suggestion how to get some cutoff and resonance into my track? Double check midi channels and that remote is enabled in the midi section of the preferences

youvegotbighands just put the velocity of the note you want to accent up to 127 and make the rest quieter

Don't think it will work with the Behringer as they are all analogue controls. I had the same issue with the Mam MB33.
