These videos are sick dude, I’m a young buck tearing into my first motorcycle engine which happens to be a shovel head lol, these videos are helping a lot
Nice work, nice methods! On the piston direction the valve pockets on shovelheads are slightly different size so you should be able to tell by eye. The intake pocket is a bit larger to accommodate the larger intake valve. Thanks for an excellent series of videos!
Wow, you do like to do things the hard way. Why didn't you put the rings on the pistons, then put the piston into the cylinder, then put all that on to the connecting rod ?
I’ve done them both ways. With the circlips he’s using, I would have done it the same way he did. Holding the cylinder just at the right position to slide wrist pin in can be difficult. You should make a video of how you do it.
As meticulous as you are, I was surprised that you did not weigh the pistons, then file the nipple on the crown of the heavier piston to balance them. I acknowledge it's not a Hiperf build, but that omission seemed out of character from your attention to detail

Glad to hear it. Enjoy!
I like the way you work. Thinking things through and taking time to plan ahead make

I measured this piston with calipers up top as absolutely symmetrical.
great vid!!
Thank you.

Holy shit, now you're polishing the pistons? Try some 600 grit sand paper, be done with it.
