The new engine is in. Just got a few adjustments with the carb and exhaust. Then a test drive. Should have another vid up on it this weekend. Thanks for watching.
Sold it a few years back. If looking for a 302 for yours, try to find a 96-99? Explorer 5.0, 96 and early 97 are considered the "better" years since they have the angled spark plug GT-40 heads, later years got the GT-40P, which require special headers.
I checked yours out. Yeah, you should have kept it. Can't get it back? These older ones aren't as "refined" as the newer 92 to 96 models or even the 87s. But there's just something about them.
Miss my 83 F150 and 85 F250, great trucks, nice find
Man that truck is awesome!!!
Nice truck! Liking the two tone paint job. I need to do the same two tone on my 83' truck to break up the solid orange
Glad you like it. Yours looks good as well. Hope to get the engine bay as nice as yours.
80sFordFan thanks! those valve covers changed everything. I have a 4 barrel Edelbrock rpm intake to put on still.
Love that paint scheme
Really really nice truck! I want more vids of it.

Good! I love the truck!
Still got this truck
No, sold it about 4 years ago. Got a Bronco, sold it to my brother. Now have a 92 Flareside 4x4, 5.0 5spd.
The 8.8 is just as good as the 9
You should put a 7.3 liter powerstroke in it, those are great, dependable motors.
Is this still a project? I'd like to talk to you about the 302.

@@80sfordfan34 thanks! I was really just looking for some insight on how stuff is "supposed" to be. I'll check the local junk yards for some 302s
Looks like a 351 Windsor to me but they're nearly identical so hard to tell
They do look the same at a glance, side by side you can tell the difference, windsor is taller and wider.
@@80sfordfan34 yeah just slight differences
Some 83's came with painted bumpers
Very true. All the ones I've seen were a lot smaller though.
I have one just like it but mine's an F250 351 Windsor
Love it except it sucks its an automatic way worse performance and way less fuel economy
I had a stepside that color and year...I wish I woulda kept it...I got a 93 now...I got better gas mileage with the 83!

Jesus died for for you so live for him
just a little loose bumper
